– Apostle Emmanuel Iren
While ministering during the First Service on Sunday and emphasizing the need for people to always attend Church Services, Apostle Iren shared a research conducted in Harvard on how people who go to Church are 22 percent less likely to suffer depression.
He clearly stated that according to Harvard Research, “regular religious attendance (people who go to Church) are 33 percent less likely to die early. They are 27 percent less likely to suffer depression and in general, they have a greater sense of meaning and purpose.”
He further explained that apart from hearing God’s Word in the Church, it is also a platform where people have access to a family they never had. According to him, many people have traumatic childhood experiences and they never had an opportunity of enjoying a sense of belonging to a family but belonging to Church has offered them the opportunity to know what it takes to have a loving and caring family.

He shared a story of how a man refused to pay the daughter’s school fees just because of a flimsy reason and he wanted to teach her a lesson but thank God that the daughter had a family in the Church that she ran to and they took care of the fees. He further stated that the bond and sense of purpose we see in Church are often underrated.
