7th August, 2022: Redemption Camp, Mowe, Ogun State, is renamed as the Redemption City of God. Redemption City is the International Headquarters and Campground of the Redeemed Christian Church of God led by the General Overseer, Pastor E. A. Adeboye.

7th August 1943:  Reverend Dr. Obiora Ezekiel is born. He was the Founder of Christian Pentecostal Mission International and one of the founding fathers of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).  He passed on to glory on 19th November, 2021 aged 78.

7th August, 2021 : Rev. Wilson Badejo passes on to glory. He was a former General Overseer of Foursquare Gospel Church from 1999-2009.

7th August, 2020: Reverend Gomba Fortune Oyor passes on to glory. He was the Founder and Senior Pastor of God-Will Do-It Ministries and Father to the Oyor twins.

7th August, 2012 : A Deeper Life Bible Church in Otite, Okene in Kogi State is attacked by 3 armed men just as a Bible study session was about to begin. A total of 19 people were killed in the gruesome attack.
