– Bishop David Oyedepo
Bishop Oyedepo, while ministering on the Second Night of the Annual Youth Alive Convention (AYAC 2025), stressed on the need for people to start small if they must make a lasting impact in life.
He clearly stated, “people are so much in a hurry and in most cases, they end up in horror.” He emphasized that God builds believers up little by little. He also opens the chapters of our lives little by little as well – he stated.
“You don’t start a building from the roof, you start from the foundation. Building from the bottom up is the most sensible way to build” – he stated. He cited the story of Abraham how God showed him the land He wanted to give him but Abraham still had to start from where he was. People don’t want to start from where they are, they want to start from the top” – he reiterated.

He went further to say that Living Faith Church started with only 4 members but that’s not the case today. According to him, 4 people became 10 (not in one day); grew to 20, 30, 40 and to the multitudes they are witnessing now as a Church. “Whatever day you start your business, you are a beginner; don’t pose like a finisher. You are a beginner, don’t frustrate your life” – he stated.
He also stressed that if you pose what you are not, you will be deposed. He therefore admonished believers not to despise the days of small things, they are the pace setting days for the great days ahead. He concluded by saying, “the days of small things are your days of building spiritual capacity.”
