– Bishop David Oyedepo
At the Enough Is Enough Service held to conclude the month of August which was prophetically tagged ‘I Will Restore Health Unto Thee’, Bishop David Oyedepo cautioned fellow ministers not to take the glory for any healing miracle. Retelling an incident of a dead child brought back to life in Sierra Leone, he said “I have seen a bit of things that God did without me knowing. That could not be my virtue, if it were my virtue I will know. We were in Freetown, Sierra Leone one time. There was a dead child that was brought to our Leadership Empowerment Summit. The mother was a Muslim woman, she heard I was coming to town so she said her child will not be buried. She came to the Leadership Empowerment Summit, not Healing Service. When we closed, we were on our way to leave the country and she was on the staircase leading to the church office. There was no point asking her what happened, you can see what happened. I said ‘in the name of Jesus, awake’ and I left. After the meeting, I came back and she was still there. Church Gist. Again I said to the child ‘I am going to the airport now. in the name of Jesus, come back to life.’ We had to take a boat from the hotel to the airport. Before we got to the airport, a noise came that the child was awake. Nothing came out of me. What raised that child is not me. That’s why ministers should be very careful. People say things like “You know I have lost a lot of virtue.” Your virtue can’t heal an ant. It is in Jesus’ name. You can’t work any wonder without His virtue. When you call His name, His virtue goes forth. The anointing of Christ that heals all manner of sickness and diseases goes forth. It’s not the anointing of the pastor or the evangelist, it is the anointing of Christ. Engage the name with that understanding that you are engaging the anointing of Christ over your issues.
