Recap from last week:
“A meeting was going to be held on Google Calendar and a notice was sent to an applicant; she was told that we are going to have this meeting on Google Calendar.
She said: What is Google Calendar? I don’t know ohh. Do you mean I should check my calendar?
It came off as very embarrassing. If you know that you are in a stage where most interviews…I know people that all the interviews they have conducted in this season, in the last 3-5 months have been virtual.” – Adekanmi Olusanya (CEO, Etiquette Media and Publishing Ltd)

Asabe: This is impressive, your note is well detailed. It gives more case studies that we can explore during the Q and A session.
Sawa, the first step will be to list out the various virtual meeting platforms while I draft a concept note to share at the Leadership Summit scheduled for this weekend.

Sawa: Thanks Ma, I already did that because I will also like Peace Microfinance Initiative to try some of the video conferencing platforms because I’m sure that some people might be familiar with the following:

– Google Hangout Meet: It can record meetings and save them to Google Drive. Additionally, you can livestream to 100,000 audience members. It is designed to work on Google Chrome browser with mobile apps available on iOS and Android.

– Microsoft Teams: It is a successor to Skype for Business and you can sign up for a free version using your personal email address. It can host up to 300 members, with guest access, one-on-one and group video and audio calls, shared files (2GB per user and 10GB per team), screen sharing and document coloration using online Office apps.

– Zoho Meeting: The video conferencing service integrates with Google Calendar and it is a completely browser-based conferencing solution, with no downloads required on your computers and Macs.

– Zoom: It allows simple one-to-one chat sessions, group calls, training sessions and webinars for internal and external audiences, and global video meetings with up to 1,000 participants and as many as 49 HD videos on-screen simultaneously.

Moreover, there are tools for calendar management such as Google Calendar, Calendly, Schedule Once.
