25th September 1928: Apostle Ayo Babalola’s spiritual encounter begins at Ikeji Arakeji while reading the whole book of Psalms consistently from night to morning and losing his sleep for about a week with his spirit joyous and rejoicing. It was documented that the encounter culminated in the hearing of a thunderous voice on 9 October 1928 that led to the establishment of the Christ Apostolic Church.

25th September: Dr Funto Ayanleke is born in Zaria, Nigeria. She is an Administrator on Church Gist Limited.

25th September 2004: Benson Idahosa University (BIU) holds her first convocation ceremony. National diploma degrees were awarded to students on completion of a two-year programme in affiliation with University of Benin, Benin City and Edo State University, Ekpoma (now Ambrose Ali University, Edo State). Today, BIU independently offers and awards various undergraduate and postgraduate courses degrees to deserving graduands.

25th September: Dr Chidi Okoroafor is born. He was a former General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, Nigeria and the Founding International President, Intercessors’ Prayer Camp International.

25th September 1789: Congress amend the U.S. Constitution to prohibit establishment of a state Church or governmental interference with the free exercise of religion.

25th September 1872: Peter Cartwright passes on to glory aged 97. He was a Methodist circuit rider whose drive and physical stamina enabled him to preach throughout midwestern frontiers for 70 years.
