Preaching at the Third Service of the Supernatural Turnaround Service, Pastor David Oyedepo Jnr encouraged the congregation to adopt a life of continuous thanksgiving to God no matter the issue they face in life.
He said: “Get addicted to a life of thanksgiving, continuously appreciating and celebrating God, giving Him glory for whatever it is that you can see in your life. Now, listen to me very carefully, there is nobody that lacks a point of gratitude. There is nobody. You need to begin to see the reality of life, you’ll begin to appreciate God for the very gift of life. Hear this, life is not a right, it’s a gift. We must learn to be genuinely grateful. Even the things you complain about are issues you should thank (God) about. You say: “But I’ve been an applicant for all of these years, I’ve not been able to get a job.” You better thank God that you’re an applicant. Have you seen a mad man line up before to submit a CV? And hear me, some people you see who are mad, they’re very intelligent. Church Gist. I have seen mad people that are dangerously smart, even in their madness, they can do calculations but nobody will hire them. Why? They are mad. Now, you are well, will you not even thank God that you are a candidate, that somebody can even be called for interview. You say, they’re rejecting you at the interview. Thank God they called you. You say they didn’t call you. Thank God you had a CV to submit. At every point in time (be thankful) because if you didn’t have something to write, there will be no CV to complete. I have seen people; they say: “Write a CV.” And the person is looking up and there is nothing to write. You even have something to write, they only didn’t answer you. You better thank Him that you have something to write that could be submitted. When you thank Him for what you could write, they would call you. When you thank Him that they called you, they would employ you. When you thank Him that they employed you, they will promote you. In everything, give thanks. Church Gist. You say: “But I’ve been believing God to get married, nobody is even coming at all.” You better thank God that you are marryable. Thank God that you’re marryable, that you are even a candidate for marriage. You better appreciate God for it because that is the starting point. It is when you thank Him for the privilege of being one that is marryable that a marital candidate will show up as you thank God that somebody even asked you. Some people, somebody asked them, they say: “How can this kind of person even come and ask me.” You better thank God. Even if a wrong person comes to meet you. Tell Him: “Father! Thank you, somebody asked me.” Then the right one will come. When you say: “How can this one come? You’ll see other things. Is somebody getting in? In everything, do what? Give thanks. Somebody said: “But I’ve been taking this tablet, all of these years.” You better thank God that it’s working. There are people who take tablets, but it doesn’t work. Thank God that the tablet you’re even taking is working. It’s a point of gratitude. It’s a point of thanksgiving.”
