BIRTHDAY NOTE FROM MOSES BLISS TO HIS SPIRITUAL FATHER

Today is my Dad’s birthday. Truly God gave me a Pastor and a mentor after His heart. My life would have been probably nothing to write home about if not for him.

In 2014 when I didn’t even think I was ready, he gave me money to go to the studio to record my first song: I told him, “I wasn’t ready, He said “you have what it takes, no man can refuse your voice”.

From that point, my Pastor became like my manager, he would give me money for any song I wanted to record. Despite his busy schedule as a senior consultant, surgeon, working in government and Pastoring, he is always available to listen to my songs and constructively criticize it, he will not let me do anything mediocre. When I got invitations, it had to pass through him before I can go. Till date, I don’t go anywhere or make any trip if my Pastor doesn’t expressly permit.

So many times distractions came my way, to make me drift but my Pastor was there to stand in the gap to keep me on course. Some record deals and juicy offers came that would have taken me away from God’s plan, my Pastor seeing ahead would prevent me from taking it!

Sometimes I would cry because of the opportunities I had to let go! He would always tell me “Moses wait! You have to be patient! The special moment is coming! The Holy Spirit will announce you by Himself” and it has happened!

I will never forget he also told me: “I WILL CONTINUE TO PUSH AND SUPPORT YOU UNTIL I DELIVER YOU TO OUR FATHER, PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME” and it has happened!

He single-handedly sponsored my first trip outside Nigeria to minister. When our Church is hosting an event or crusade, my Pastor gives me the exact same VIP treatment given to other guest ministers: my own Church will host a program and protocols will come home with a Land Cruiser to pick me, they will make towels with my name on it. Placards with my face and special gift packs like they would any other guest. So much I can’t write here!

Today, I say thank you sir for all you’ve done for me. I also thank myself for listening, following your instructions and strict discipline, it keeps paying off.

What a man!

What a mentor!

What a father!

Today, I want the world to join me to celebrate the man that raised me.
