The subject is UNDERLYING FACTORS THAT AFFECT DIVINE HEALTH.

The Scriptures made it clear that it is God’s will for His children to live in perfect wholeness and health. God’s will is for His children to live in perfect wholeness and health. Church Gist. Beyond that, the Scriptures show us men and women of the Bible who lived in strength, lived in health, lived in vitality because of their covenant relationship with God. Church Gist. We saw Abraham, we saw Isaac, we saw even Job; even though affliction came, yet it was overcome and Job lived to be so many years before he eventually passed. We see that there are situations that can make a child of God, or anybody at all step out of health. Church Gist. Especially when principles, Scriptural principles are violated, that can make us step out of health into ill health. And we are going to be looking at those factors this morning, once we are through we will be trusting God to touch us.
1 Spell of Bitterness
Number one factor that affects Divine health is what I will call the Spell of bitterness. Church Gist. The Spell of bitterness or Unforgiveness. Hebrews 12:15. Matthew 18:34. there is something called the Ministry of the Tormentors. Mark 11:25. Church Gist. So I’ll like you to note the following:
(1.1) Number one, the root of unforgiveness or bitterness in the heart, translates into the fruit of trouble in the body. Church Gist. When the heart is bitter,the body recognises it as something is wrong. There’s a signal in the system that something is wrong. The body does not know how to translate that signal except to translate it as that something is wrong.did you hear what I just said? Something is wrong, and the translation of that ‘something is wrong’ from the spirit and from the mind, manifests as an ailment in the body. Church Gist. One of the little books I wrote many, many years ago titled Jehovah Rapha – God your Healer, this was clarified in it. In the spirit, the man is bitter; in the mind, the man is bitter; so the body translates it as ‘something is wrong’. So that ‘wrongness’ is a sickness. I’d like you to get this.
(1.2) The second thing to note is that Bitterness gives invitation to the assignment of tormentors. It says, “…his lord will hand him over to the tormentors…” That is what will happen to everyone who does not forgive his neighbour. Tormentors. We read that in Matthew 18:34,35. Church Gist. So when a man walks in bitterness, demonic spirits are on an assignment called Tormentors and they impact torment.
Third thing to note is that the prayer for healing may not be answered in the presence of unforgiveness. He said, “…and when you stand praying, forgive. So that your Father in Heaven may forgive you.” Mark 11:25
One woman was trusting God for the fruit of the womb, between 11 and 14 years, I can’t remember. She stood in the prayer line, I think it was in Kano, I can’t remember. And the man of God as he was about to pray for her, said, “Go and forgive your husband.” whatever it was, no one knew. “And God will give you your children.” She went and forgave her husband and God gave her her children. I was in my office in Area 1, and a young lady came with two crutches; just hopped on the crutches to come. And I was about to pray for her, before I prayed for her, I said to her, “You need to forgive. Just go and forgive. Go and forgive.” Now she was about to get married and then had a terrible accident on this road, Airport road. I’m talking about 10, 15 years ago, and broke the two femur bones; this big thigh bones, broke both of them. Life on hold, marriage on hold, everything on hold. I said, “Go and forgive.” And she told me at that time, she said she had locked too many people in her heart. She had locked many people in her heart. She used to be in the choir. I think she might still be in the choir. Trying to remember the name of the husband. The husband used to work in the restaurant. So she left me. Church Gist.The next time I saw her, she was on the altar with her two legs, dedicating her first child. I said, “What happened?” She said, “You were the one who told me to go and forgive. I went to forgive and the bones got healed.” And then the marriage went forward, the marriage held. The man used to work in one restaurant they call ‘Mama Cass’ restaurant, may be as I am talking, the man will remember that he’s the one I’m talking about.
Somebody here might be one forgiveness away from your wholeness. Some pain you cannot understand – just release somebody – and you will be shocked, you wont know were it went.
This bitterness can also cause mental condition. There was a crusade in Kenya, and this young lady was in a mental asylum. They had some wicked robbers, some wicked people who came in there, brutally raped her. And she grew with a bitterness that translated into insanity. As they prayed the Lord revealed the root of it. She forgave, she didn’t know she could ever forgive her rapists. She forgave them, her mind came back to normal. Church Gist.
I know a young man, he is at war with everybody. Everytime you met him he had one complain about one person or the other. Infact, he started with the person he wanted to marry, the person said no. The person married another person. He became bitter against the person that said no, and the person that married her. And then everytime you met him, he was complaining about one person or the other until he ran mad. But he will never believe that he is mad. he will always say, “Look at me, nothing is wrong.” He is 52 now, not married, nothing is working. Nothing is working, nothing! Bitterness. Please, run from it! Ulcers are traced to it, even some cancers are traced to it. I mean if I dwell on it, that will be the service for today. But I have eight more points.Church Gist.
There was a young lady with blood cancer, her doctor, a Christian doctor – and I heard this story from a lecturer when I was in 500 level- her doctor, Christian doctor, said to her, “Oh, you need to forgive somebody.” And that somebody was her father. The mother died, the father didn’t explain to her what happened.Church Gist. All she saw was that she was a little baby, and saw her mother being put in a box and was wondering why was the mother being put in a coffin. Next thing she saw her mother being put into the ground. Next thing she saw the ground being covered. Next thing she knew, the father had married another wife, and that new wife was not a good wife. She grew up bitter until she developed blood cancer. When she realized that forgiveness was possible, she went and forgave. Under 6 weeks, cancer cleared from the blood.
Someone say a loud amen! Somebody say a loud amen!
My wife and I prayed for a woman, many years ago who was so bitter against her husband because she grew with her husband, and both of them struggled together, raised so many structures together, and when the man felt like he had achieved something, he pushed her out and went and brought a young lady who entered into an inheritance she did not labour for.
Some men can do despicable things. As if they don’t have the heart of a person, and now needs a new wife. And this woman got so bitter, like she couldn’t survive the bitterness. And we visited her, we drove all the way to her house. She said, “This is too much, I cant forgive him.” Nobody’s action will kill you before your time! Please understand that when you see people behave and especially misbehave, the action may be their action but they let the outcome be your outcome. Don’t let anybody’s action determine your destination.
Don’t let anybody finish you because of their wickedness. Don’t let anybody finish you because of their heartlessness. Church Gist. Today I believe that as we begin to release our offenders, healing and wholeness will come to people! If you are a believer, shout a loud amen! If you believe that it is coming to you, shout a louder amen! It is the spell of bitterness that is number one.
2 The Broken Hedge
Number two is the broken hedge. And this is talking about the guilt of sin. Ecclesiastes 10:8. Psalm 119:67.
What is the meaning of this? A serpent can bite when the hedge is broken.
Second, to go astray is to give invitation to affliction. Until I went astray, I couldn’t be afflicted. Before I was afflicted, I went astray, meaning until I went astray, I couldn’t be afflicted. But now, have I kept Your word.
Number 3 means, keeping the Word is keeping your health. I am sure that you remember that disease and death came into the world because of sin by the first man. What Gehazi stole was money, what came on him was leprosy. He stole money, but leprosy came on him. Am I communicating? There are people who are hypertensive from stealing Government money. Some people are servicing Blood Pressure from theft. There are people who chop bad money and chop diabetes alongside.
There was a young man who was assisting me earlier on, that is, help me take money to the bank. Personal money, my money, not church money. Church money does not branch my way at all. Church cheque is not in my possession at all for twenty something years. This is money that is mine, help me take to the bank. Church Gist. If it is 100,000 naira, he will separate 10,000 naira and pay 80 or 75 thousand. As if he was servicing himself. All of sudden, I realized my income was dropping, and I began to ask Lord, what’s happening. Because I wasn’t paying the tithe accurately. I was paying based on what was being paid into the bank, not knowing that something was separated. That was when I realized that this was what the guy was doing. God said since there is a loophole, let me reduce the total of what is coming to you until the loophole is closed. When it was discovered, this guy was already in affliction. Undiagnosable fire burning in his body. Church Gist. Couldn’t be diagnosed. He just said, “Please pray for me before I die.” Am I communicating at all?
There are people whose bearing false witness and accusation against people is attracting affliction on their body and on their system. He doesn’t know why he is afflicted, you lied against somebody, he didn’t do anything, you said he did it. That lie attracted an affliction. You give somebody pain in their mind, in their heart, it may attract an affliction for you all over. Church Gist. Your action is bringing hurt and harm to system, to the nation, to the country, bringing hurt and harm to a family. Bringing hurt, bringing harm to an innocent person. That hurt and that harm can return back to you, pressed down, shaken together and running over. It says, “Give and it shall be given unto you.”
Somebody say a loud amen. Are you benefiting at all? Just let’s ensure that we live that life that is void of offense. Church Gist.Exercise your conscience to be void of offense. Don’t be a candidate of hurt or offense either to God or to man. Don’t become a channel of offense, or anyone’s pain or even to God because he who breaketh the hedge the serpent shall bite. That will never be your portion, somebody say a loud amen!
Number 3 is what I will call the wrong mindset. Wrong believing. The wrong mindset. Proverbs 4:23. Proverbs 23:7. So, this key point: first, the state of your thoughts affect the state of your life and health. The second thing is almost the same as the first, that your thinking affects your living. What crosses your mind, affects what can cross your mind.
And thirdly, Job 3:25. what is the meaning of that? The fear of a thing connects you with the thing you fear. Let me make it direct, the fear of diseases connects you with the diseases you fear. Many people are sick today, are afflicted today, not because the Devil was too powerful, but because there was a fear that has lingered for a long time.
A man testified here some years ago, a Honourable from Enugu church. His friend had prostrate cancer and died. I’m sure you remember the testimony. After he went for a funeral, on the way back, the symptoms started in his body. He got to the hospital, it was confirmed it was cancerous. Prayer was made, that thing died, until that thing was roasted and returned back to Hell.
That somebody in your family died of a particular disease, is not a license for you to die of the same. He didn’t say the just shall live according to the experiences of the people around them. He said the just shall live by his faith. The fact that somebody you know experienced something doesn’t mean that you must experience it.
Herod took James and beheaded him. Herod took Peter and beheaded him? For where. Peter is not James. So what happened to James? It is when we get to heaven that we shall know. But as for Peter, he cannot die like that. If your name is Peter, don’t agree to die like James died.
Young lady many years ago; she said she lost an aunty that dies of a terminal disease. She was the one who stayed with her in the hospital. She feared the same disease in her heart, until the disease appeared 20 years later. The same affliction. Am I communicating? Anything you don’t fear will fear you! You need some level of radicality and rascality to deal with the Devil, because the Devil is a rascal. I was in medical school when I went to toilet and blood came out. Except if you are a bastard. Is that excess blood or what? Go to Hell. If you catch me then…I’m smiling too much now. That thing died the same day, it didn’t last the second day.
We were checking our Blood pressure in the Physiology department. You check my own, I check your own. You know, medical stuents. Ah, you know, the Blood pressure is high. No, it is not possible. That was the last time I came near a Blood pressure machine. Till I graduated. Don’t come and tell me rubbish. I’m not under any form of pressure. Young man, God forbid. One of the days, I was going to the airport here. Some people put their equipment, and said “Daddy, Daddy, this is what we do for a living. Bless us with this thing by us checking your Blood pressure.” I said, “alright, check it.” They checked it. Church Gist. Perfect cool Blood pressure. Despite all this traveling. Normal! Normal!
Beloved brothers and sisters today, anything that is a mindset in your heart, any fear that is a fear around your life, I declare that fear dies right now! In the name of Jesus! Whatever fear is in your heart, the fear of whatever it is, I declare that fear dies to the root right now! In the name of Jesus! Lift your right hand, say In the name of Jesus, I shall fulfill my days! I am not afraid of the Devil, I am not afraid of affliction, I am not afraid of what happened to other people! It can never be my portion! I shall fulfill my days! I am in health in the name of Jesus!Church Gist.
Give the Lord a clap as you take your seat in His presence. Somebody say a loud amen! Somebody say a louder amen!
