Exodus 15:11. The Lord bless His Word in Jesus’ name. The subject is “Celebrating the God of Wonders”. Church Gist. Our objective tonight is
1. Experiencing the wonders of God through praise and worship.
2. Understanding the keys to experiencing the wonders of God through praise.
You know that Scriptures made it clear that we serve the God of wonders. Everything about God is wonderful; everything about God is supernatural. Church Gist. The Supernatural is the natural realm of God; what we call wonders is the natural realm of God. We understand through Scriptures as well that a major way to spark the wonders of God is through praise. Exodus 15:11. You want Him to do wonders, give Him fearful praises. Church Gist. Have we seen the wonders of God through praise before in Scripture? Yes. I will give you 5 instances of wonders of God through praise;
1. The Supernatural collapse of the wall of Jericho. Joshua 6:20. Church Gist. The wall of Jericho collapsed flat when the people gave God the shout of praise.
– tonight, as we praise God, I announce, every wall that is a Jericho wall, any form of wall of limitation that is standing before your life and my life and your destiny and mine and your family and standing before the Church in Nigeria and before this Church, and standing before the nation where you are the nation of Nigeria, those walls shall collapse tonight!
– look at your neighbour, say ‘the wall of Jericho shall collapse tonight! Every limiting wall shall collapse tonight and you shall step into your destiny!’
2. Victory for Jehoshaphat in the battle against the enemy, you know the Moabites, the Ammonites, the Edomites. 2 Chronicles 20:22. Church Gist. As the praise went up, Jehovah stepped down and as He stepped down, the enemy faced themselves and as they faced themselves, they finished themselves.
– this is going to happen here tonight!
– this night, I announce, as our praise is going up, Jehovah God is stepping into our nation! He’s stepping into your family’s situation! He’s stepping into the battle of the Church in Nigeria. He’s stepping into the battle of your personal life!.
– lift your hands and say, “Father, I thank you because you’re stepping into the battle of my life and my destiny! Thank you Lord, in the name of Jesus!”
You know what is about to happen? The enemies that have come against us shall turn against themselves without any shadow of any doubt.
– Under the next 24 hours, you shall hear the news of the enemy turning against themselves.
– under the next seven days, you shall hear the news of the enemy turning against themselves!
– shout the loudest Amen!
3. Divine direction and provision in the midst of the battle for the people of Israel. Israel was in the midst of a battle, there was no provision and the prophet Elisha needed direction. Church Gist. What he needed was that praise went up; 2 Kings 3:15-17. One of the greatest assets in battle is direction; knowing what to do, knowing which way to go, knowing where the enemy is coming from and knowing where to tackle the enemy.
– Tonight, I announce to somebody, the direction and strategy needed to finish that battle of your life is coming your way right now! The direction and strategy needed to finish that battle of our nation is coming our way right now! direction and strategy for the Church is coming our way right now! I announce supernatural supplies!
4. Prison opening and captivity turnaround for Paul and Silas. Acts 16:25-26.
– I announce to you today, every prison holding your destiny, every chain holding your destiny, every prison holding your life, holding our nation, holding the Church in Nigeria, today, they’re broken and they’re opened!
– look at your neighbour, say, “the prison door is open! The chain is broken and you’re out of captivity!”
– you shall not be cut short before your time!
5. The perfection of all things that concerns life. The psalmist was speaking by experience when he was singing the Psalm in 138:8. Church Gist. Praise will cause God to perfect all that concerns your life. Your life may not be perfect, our nation may not be perfect, the Church may not be perfect but the key of praise is the key that is used for the perfection of all things
What is the key to seeing the wonders of God in Praise?
1. Clarity of conscience. Where the conscience is clear; the people that must worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. Church Gist. Neat clean conscience, “I am here to worship and to honour you. I’m not here with an ulterior motive. I am here with a garment that is clean, and if I wasn’t clean before I came here, I ask for Your cleansing”.
2. Confidence of faith. He that cometh to God must believe that He is and He’s rewarder of those that diligently seek Him. Church Gist.That is, “I’m not wasting my praise or my time”. Those who believe His Words sing His praise – Psalm 106:13.
3. Definiteness/specificity of purpose. That is, for the children of Israel before the wall of Jericho, a definite purpose was the collapse of the wall. Church Gist. “I am worshipping God and honouring God with the mind that this wall must collapse”. So, while we praise God, let a purpose be in your front. For Jehoshaphat, it is “the battle must end”.
Is there somebody who has something here that you’re going to praise God for? For your family and for the Church? What about for the nation? Too much. Goliath must bow, the wall of Jericho must collapse, the will of God must prevail. Are you ready tonight?
