EVERY MAN OF CHARACTER IS A COMMANDER OF FAVOUR.
PEOPLE ARE FAILING TODAY NOT AT THE FREQUENCY OF ANCESTRAL CURSES BUT AT THE FREQUENCY OF DISASTROUS CHARACTERS.
THE PRESENCE OF GOD IS THE PRIVILEGE DWELLING PLACE OF PEOPLE WITH CHARACTER.
WHEN YOU SEE PEOPLE WITH QUALITY GODLY CHARACTER, WHEN YOU COME AROUND THEM, YOU JUST FEEL GOD.

Thank you for your presence Lord, Blessed be your name, Honour to your name, adoration to your name. He’s stepping into that vacuum and that space in your life to show you that He loves you. Thank you Father, in Jesus precious name.
I welcome everyone here tonight in the precious name of Jesus.
Isaiah 33:15-16. This evening the subject is “THE PROFIT OF GODLY CHARACTER”. Our objective is to look at the dividend of godly character. The Bible makes it clear in our passage that godly character lifts people up. ChurchGist. Godly character takes people up, ungodly character keeps people down.
Various things that godly character does in the life of people.
- CHARACTER BRINGS FAVOUR.
Genesis 39:2-3,21. Joseph found grace and favour in the house of the Egyptian as a result of his character. Every man of character is a commander of favour. Esther 2:14-15. Esther displayed godly character. Esther secured favour by refusing to be greedy and covetous. Godly characters open doors, bad characters close doors. There are people today whose doors are closed not because the devil was wicked, their door got closed because their character was bad.
I know of people that other people don’t want to do business with them again forever. Everyone they’ve dealt with something went wrong, there was one story or the other, not the devil. There are so many who are failing today, not at the frequency of ancestral curses but at the frequency of disastrous character. Trust them with something little and they’ll give you a lot of stories. ChurchGist. Ask them to manage something for you, they’ll end up telling you stories. Whether it’s your behaviour towards money or anything, it opens the door or closes the door. I pray that somebody’s door will be opened today. There are some people the way at which they approached their boss the first day also made it the end of the job, the arrogance with which they appeared, the pride with which they showed up, the disrespect and the lack of good behaviour.
When we grew up, we were taught that; when an elder comes in, if you’re sitting down you must stand up, that’s how we grew up, today that is not the case, there are people seated and the boss is talking and they are still sitting (ok, what should I do). There are times when we are talking to our father in the Lord, he’s not watching but atimes, we are on our knees, my wife especially, she’s already on her knees, just on a phone call. Hallelujah! This is why some people are where they are today and others are unable to reach anywhere in life.
I have seen intelligent people stranded for lack of character because character has more marketing power than certificate. I have seen people that graduated with first class honour with a third class character. Show me a woman with quality character, she will have favour with her husband, show me a man with quality character, he will have favour with everybody.
- CHARACTER ATTRACTS DIVINE PRESENCE.
Joseph, a man of strong character, said he fears God. Genesis 42:18, 39:21. The presence of God is the privilege dwelling place of people with character. When you see people with quality godly character, when you come around them, you just feel God. Psalm 11:7. His presence is upon the righteous, upon the person of character. Psalm 140:13. The man of characters and principles shall dwell in Thy presence; he doesn’t have anywhere else to live. Psalm 24:3-5. Who is it that will dwell with God, men and women of quality character. ChurchGist. When you see them, you feel God. On the contrary, how many of you have seen a hardened criminal before? With injury all over his body from previous bad lifestyle, they are graceless. The only thing you can see when you look at them is the devil. You look at this man, you feel the devil, the same way you feel when you see a herbalist. ChurchGist. You know the herbalist is the worst evil, they can kill anybody for anybody. They’ll just ask you, what do you want me to do? Zechariah 3:1:3. Joshua was wearing a filthy garment that attracted the devil. He was wearing something that attracted the devil. There is no vacuum in nature, if God is not with you, somebody is with you, and you won’t like the person that’s with you. You will never be in that position in the name.
You need to carry this feelable, tangible and palpable presence of God with a clarity of conscience and quality of character. I’m sure you know that the presence of God is what is called the anointing. Acts 10:38. God with a person is the anointing, your strength of character is directly proportional to the strength of the anointing. Ecclesiastes 9:8. John Wesley’s father told him that a tender conscience is the greatest sign of Christianity. ChurchGist. When you do wrong and you’re instantly aware, having done the right thing, that is the purest and surest sign of Christianity, where this is not working is like where the radar of an aircraft is not working and the aircraft is heading into danger without knowing.
- CHARACTER BRINGS FOCUS TO LIFE.
Matthew 6:22-23. 15:19-20. The mind of a man is the engine room of destiny. Proverbs 4:23. How does this relate to character? The mind of a man of character is free to focus on what is most profitable to life. ChurchGist. When a person lacks character, the mind is congested with the things in life that are not profitable and you know that this is true because most actions are products of thoughts. Nobody ever stole by mistake, most thieves in the village calculated their strategy in the daytime.
I studied a little bit and I realized that; most addicts (I have spoken to a lot of them, especially to drugs or anything) the most dominant thing on their mind is their addictions. When next they are going to have their next high, immoral addiction is the same thing, the most dominant thing on their mind is the next one. The same goes for pornographic addiction, there are some people who lost their jobs (in their numbers) because they lost concentration in their work place, they had to be sacked, internet things got them sacked. ChurchGist. That same mind that has been dominated by unprofitable things, assuming you allow it to be dominated by the profitable things, how much progress will you make?

I decree every trace of distraction upon your life and your mind is arrested in the name of Jesus.
I decree a grip upon your mind, you shall not lose focus.
I knew a very intelligent man in the medical school days, very brainy. All of a sudden when he was in 200 level, he began to camp a girl in his room, that was the beginning of his travail. His mind was so distracted, just in a twinkling of an eye he went down, he couldn’t go to the next class. ChurchGist. Focus is brought to life when character is in place.
- CHARACTER ASSISTS GUIDANCE
People of character are highly guided. Proverbs 11:3, 21:29. Many years ago I learnt that when you’re a person of principle, 99 per cent of your decisions are already made. Your principles and character have already made your decision. At the junction of decision, you don’t need to think twice before you know which road to pass. This means, there are businesses that you don’t need too much explanation, your characters tell you what to do. There are businesses you can’t do, there are money you can’t touch, transactions you can’t enter, situations you can’t be found in. ChurchGist. This leaves you many times out of trouble. Many years ago, I knew a medical doctor, my marriage was 1 year old at that time and I was into private practice in the evening time. A young man met me at the place I was practicing. (I work in 2 or 3 places in a day). I think that was the second or third place. The young man came in and was speaking vernacular with me. I thought he knew me from somewhere. After he told me his pathetic story, he said I should drop him off because he was going my way.
So, I carried him in the vehicle. The moment I dropped him, he began to talk with somebody else. He began to deal dubiously with me. This issue happened more than 27 years ago. I looked at him with fire in my eyes, I said do you know who you’re dealing with at all? I can arrest you now. ChurchGist. You’re looking for somebody to partner with you in your dubious activities, you’re with the wrong person. It’s only God who helped him that I didn’t curse him that day.
It’s not everything inside water that you’ll eat, all of it are not fishes, some can kill you, even in the village, there are mushrooms that have killed people. So, you know there are things you cannot touch. ChurchGist. I travelled all the way to Venezuela, South America, sometime ago for a program and then a young man met me and he said to me that he needs prayers and I said; prayer for what. I don’t know him but he knew me and he said, he’s trying to transport his goods and he wants me to pray for him, so that he can transport his goods successfully. After I listened for a while, I realized what he was trying to say; he’s a drug pusher, he wants to try to push the drug without being caught.
So, I looked at him and said; you know who you’re talking to right? You want me to ask the God of Heaven who hates evil to bless your evil life and evil trade. ChurchGist. If I curse you know, what you’ll do is to die, the only prayer I can pray for you is to curse you to die. Do you know how many people went to their untimely grave because of drugs? How many people were destroyed because of drugs? There are those who can pray for those people, if possible, maybe because of how much they would bring at the end.
There are things you don’t think twice to do, when they bring them around you, you’re not tempted. Don’t tell me to go and think about it. Will you do this so that you can be promoted? Otherwise. So, let the promotion go to hell, it’s not something to think about. ChurchGist. Unprincipled people enter into businesses and find themselves in prison. You’re standing by the road and a friend comes by and says; I’m travelling to Kano now, can we go? And you say why not? Why can’t I go? What am I doing, I am doing nothing. He’s doing nothing with his life, he jumps into the vehicle, they carry him somewhere and maybe, he was joined with some guy, they went to commit some crimes and he’s the only one they arrested. That will never be your portion.
There are friends that can’t be your friend. By the time they make two statements, you already know, these ones are not your friends. Somebody sent me a text some days back, he said he wants to be my friend, the tone of the text shows that he has a questionable character. ChurchGist. Firstly, I didn’t ask you that I’m looking for a friend. I’m not suffering from hypofriendemia, that I need some friendliness injection or infusion, I didn’t tell you that, if I told you that you can advertise today.
Some people just walk into your life and before you know you’re their friends and you don’t know when it started and how it started? What is even the agenda of the relationship? ChurchGist. When you’re a principled person, 99 per cent of your principles are already made, you’re highly guided.
I want somewhere to pray sometimes ago and the government called us to pray and after the prayers, the government was sharing envelope for a job well done, I said me, pray in exchange for money, that devil is a bastard, that was my first and last time in that place, you can’t catch me there again. ChurchGist. I have too much dignity to hang around people I am ordained to anoint, that is why some of us preach with all brutality because we are not buyable. Peter told Simon, thy money perish with you.
I went somewhere to minister; it was a leadership session organized by a state executive in leadership. A lecturer was the leader and they brought some money to give me and he was telling his boss that I won’t collect the money. The boy said let me try first. So, he came, I told him, I didn’t come here for money, I can’t collect money from here, what will you write in your book, this amount of money given to me for this program here. ChurchGist. I won’t collect a dime here, so he returned back and the other one said; didn’t I tell you?
- I prophesy upon you today, the help to do the right thing per time, that help is released upon you today in the name of Jesus.
One day we went to a place and they said they want to support the crusade we came to do and I was aware that in that place they’ve not paid people’s salary, the person they sent to me, I returned that person with the money, help me to add this money with other resources and pay people’s salary. Hallelujah!
- CHARACTER BRINGS PRESERVATION.
Psalm 25:21; 11:6. Isaiah 33:15-16. The way you live moves Heaven to protect your life and preserve your life, to deliver you and rescue you from destruction and disaster. How many of you know the numbers of deaths that have occurred from beer parlours or night clubs, broken bottles, fighting with knives. ChurchGist. I knew of a man who went and sat with his friends at the beer parlour. He sat down and drank himself to stupor, they all drank to stupor, he was sitting in between two people, by the time they finished drinking, can we go? Nobody answered! Can we move? Nobody answered. The one who walked into the beer parlour was carried outside dead. Nobody knew what happened, whatever might have happened, maybe somebody put something on his drink while he sat there, that was his end.
In all likelihood, he may have lived longer than that, if he was not there at that time. What about cult initiation that leads to death, how many young men? I have heard about times when they are initiating some young people, two people will hold their two hands, hold his legs and leave him from there and the guy will land on his tummy, all in the name of making him strong. He ends up with blunt abdominal injury, pierce his liver and then he bleeds to death. ChurchGist. How many prostitutes have entered a ritualist vehicle? They just pass by the road and they call you to enter their vehicle and you’re gone. I’m sure you know those kinds of girls I’m talking about, hanging all around on the roadside and then a vehicle will pass and they will enter and they’re gone straight to death.
Some have had ritualistic relationships, they went to wherever the man took them too and the man was a snake or whatever, I have heard such stories. How many people have died of drug overdose? He took one of the drugs until it knocked him out and he couldn’t wake up. You may think those are extreme examples, but there are people who they have killed because they told a lie. Who did you lie against? Who did you cheat on? But that will never be your portion. ChurchGist. Preservation! Heaven moves, angels move to defend and stand around the man/woman of character.
My counsel tonight is from Acts 24:16. Always maintain the conscience that is void of offence towards God and towards men. ChurchGist. Anytime you’ve offended God, you’ll know. Lord, I’m sorry, I ask for your help and I ask for victory over this kind of thing and a conscience that is tender towards men, that you refuse to deliberately and consciously act in ways that hurt people or even hurt yourself and it’s a new day for us.
I prophesy upon everyone here, the grace to do the right thing is released upon you. The grace to avoid the way of evil is released upon you, the grace to avoid the ways of error is released upon you. In Jesus’ precious name.
