During the First Service on Sunday, Pastor David Ibiyeomie stressed on the need for members to surrender their lives to Christ. He emphasized that coming to Church does not equal salvation.
He further explained, “you are not a child of God because you come to Church. That you are in a garage does not make you an automobile, you are in a swimming pool does not make you a fish and that you are in an airport does not make you an aircraft.” He stated that the only thing that qualifies one to become a child of God is to accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour.” You must be born again – he reiterated.
He cited Exodus 9:1 where God said to Pharaoh through Moses, “let my people go…” He emphasized that according to the Scripture, deliverance is meant for only God’s people. He clearly stated that you are not among God’s people if you are not born again. He also stressed that it was sin that made man a captive of satan. He further encouraged people who are not born again to accept Jesus as their Lord and personal Saviour.
