KingsWord International Church was conceived when God spoke to the setman, Pastor Kay Ijisesan to raise Him a supernatural army in an unusual divine encounter. The Church started as a campus fellowship originally in April, 1993 and was known as Victory Christian Fellowship before its name was changed to KingsWord Campus Church, Obafemi Awolowo University, Osun State, Nigeria. The African Headquarter Church, KingsWord International Church, Ikeja branch, was inaugurated on the 31st of December, 1997. In November 1999, God instructed the setman, Pastor Kay to relocate his family to the United States where the Chicago branch was born. KingsWord International Church, Chicago which is presently the Apostolic and International Headquarter of the Ministry was established on the 1st of September, 2002 and is under the leadership of the President of the Ministry, Pastor Kayode Ijisesan.
The vision of the Church is to raise a supernatural army through presenting the Good News of Jesus, bringing men and women out of the bondage of ignorance, religion and tradition so that they can come into real fellowship with God, raising spirit-filled worshippers that have the Word of God as their final authority and a revelation of their supernatural identity, demonstrating the power of God and fill the earth with God’s glory through the Ministry of the Word and the Holy Spirit, equipping, training and developing believers for the work of the Ministry and provide an environment for Kingdom service, helping believers discover, develop and deploy their God-given purpose, communicate the principles of the Kingdom using every available medium and technology, providing an excellent and inspiring environment where both young and matured professionals utilize their education and God-given talents to glorify God, building healthy family units that glorify God through effective Ministry to children, teenagers, single and married adults, raising multiracial and multigenerational congregations all over the world which allows individuals of all ethnicity and ages to have healthy covenant-based relationships.
Presently, there are twelve vibrant Churches in Lagos metropolis alone. In obedience to God, the ministry has planted Churches that are committed to discipling this generation in the supernatural power and principles of God in four continents thereby fulfilling KingsWord Everywhere mandate. In addition, KingsWord Ministries International is committed to the raising of a people of purpose on College campuses. There are currently nine Campus Churches under the hospices of the Ministry in different locations in the western part of Nigeria. The Church is co-pastored by Pastor Mayowa. Pastor Kay and Pastor Mayowa reside in the Chicago area of the United States from where they provide an apostolic covering for the missions and churches of the Ministry in North America, Africa, Asia and Europe.
KingsWord International Church has become a strong force and keeps growing in strength and number to the Glory of God. The Church of God shall keep waxing stronger and the gates of hell will never prevail over it.
