CHURCH OF THE WEEK
Covenant Word Christian Centre International is an international ministry and local church with an outreach to all the nations of the earth heralding the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ. The international ministry is Covenant Word Ministries International and the local church is Covenant Word Christian Centre International.
The set man of the Church, Pastor Dunka Joseph Gomwalk was called by God to pastor Covenant Word Christian Centre International and to oversee Covenant Word Ministries International. He has known the touch of Christ upon his life from his early youth, having consciously committed his heart to Christ in 1982 and had been involved in some form of ministry from his days in secondary school through the University. His last assignment was an almost seven year period of service as an associate minister at Glorious Praise Chapel, Jos, which ended in May 2002 when the Lord called him to start his own ministry.
After almost two years of preparation for the next phase of God’s assignment for his life, he finally felt released in his spirit in 2004 to proceed with what the Lord has placed in his heart, thus Covenant Word Christian Centre International (CWCCI) was born.
The vision of CWCCI is to reap the harvest of the earth by teaching, preaching and demonstrating the reality of the Christian’s redemption in Christ ultimately establishing lives in the Word of God. The harvest of the earth is in two-fold; the unbeliever (lost or unsaved) and the ‘unbelieving’ believer (saved but ignorant and unilluminated concerning their redemptive inheritance in Christ).
These two categories of people form the expected harvest for CWCCI.
The Church is committed to living out the scriptures in all areas of life by obedience to the Word of God and also committed to seeking and saving the lost. Her mission is
i). To assist believers become established, rooted and grounded in the Word of God.
ii). To assist believers locate and function in their places in God’s kingdom.
iii). To assist legitimate, God-ordained ministries be birthed, developed and deployed for service in God’s kingdom.
iv). To assist believers locate and function in their places in the Body of Christ and in life.
v). To assist the lost find salvation in Christ as it is written in John 15:16
”You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you” and her strategy for the mission to be achieved is through publications, worship services, seminars and conferences, radio, television and the interest, ministry training center and healing school.
The headquarters in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria currently holds two services on Sundays and holds midweek communion service on Wednesdays.
The Church is marching on and growing stronger and stronger and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it
