GOD GIVES YOU ENCOUNTERS WITH HIS POWER IN ORDER TO RECONNECT YOU WITH HIS PLAN.
MOSES ENCOUNTERED THE POWER OF GOD TO RECEIVE DIRECTION FOR LIFE. MOSES WAS REDIRECTED, HIS LIFE CHANGED FOREVER
ACCEPTING JESUS MAKES YOUR EARTHLY LIFE MEANINGFUL, PRODUCTIVE AND DIRECTED. ABOVE ALL, IT GUARANTEES ETERNAL LIFE WITH GOD IN HEAVEN.

I want to say something to you for a few minutes and then we will have a full blast message tomorrow. I want to charge you on, “ENCOUNTER WITH THE POWER OF GOD.” What we have just seen and experienced is called, Encountering the Power of God. Church Gist. Exodus 3:1-5. This was Moses’ encounter with the power of God. Why does God encounter people with his power? Many people see the power of God but they don’t know why God displays his power. There are 3 things I wanted you to know briefly tonight before we go. The power of God manifests for a couple of purposes:
- It is to impact the understanding of God: God causes people to experience his power in order for people to know who he is, to know his ability, his capability. In Exodus 3:6 – God began to introduce himself to Moses when Moses saw the fire and saw the manifestation of God there. He said, “I am the God of thy father, I brought you here tonight Moses to introduce myself to you. Church Gist. I am the God you do not understand. The God of Abraham you don’t know, the God of Isaac you don’t know, the God of Jacob you don’t know, I am that God.” Later on he said, I am that I am, that is who I am. When Jacob encountered God in Genesis 28:13, God began to introduce himself to Jacob again.
I came all the way from Nigeria for the manifestation of God’s presence and power to cause somebody to understand God in a dimension you have not before or in a deeper dimension. To know that we serve a God who is real, who is not just on the pages of the Bible, but on the streets of our land. Church Gist. Who is in Francis Town tonight and doing the things he is doing in your life and as you get to know God like never before, the Bible said that the people that do know their God shall be strong and they shall do exploits.
- To bring restoration to lives: Moses was in need of restoration. Moses had been disconnected from his family for 40 years whiling away in the wilderness, running away from Pharaoh who wanted to kill him because Moses killed a man and God kindled a fire and drew Moses’ attention so he can restore Moses first in relationship with himself. Moses who knew the God of Israel was now lost in the wilderness. Church Gist. May be you’re here tonight, you used to know God very well and you got lost in the wilderness of life, in the busyness of life. You got lost in the problems of life, you got swallowed up by challenges, you don’t have time to pray anymore, you don’t have a relationship with God anymore, God sent me all the way to cause you to see his power so you can have a restoration of your relationship.
Moses, got the restoration of his passion for God at the flames of the burning bush. He got a restoration of his vision for life. It was Moses’ vision that led him into trouble. He had a vision of delivering his people, in the course of trying to deliver his people he killed a person and after killing the person, Pharaoh heard of it and he ran away. Church Gist. He was away from that vision for 40 years until at the fire of the burning bush, God called him back and said, “you remember that vision? For 40 years ago I am calling you back into it, you’re still going to deliver your people. It was not the vision that was wrong, it was the method that was wrong. I want you to deliver Israel but not by killing people one by one.” He reconnected him back, there was that restoration. Church Gist. May be there are people here tonight, you believe that God has a plan for your life and then you try to pursue that plan and you experience frustration and then you abandoned it completely, God gives you encounters with his power in order to reconnect you with his plan.
- I prophesy to somebody here tonight, the purpose and the plan of God for your life must come to pass!
- Finally, Moses encountered the power of God to receive direction for life. Moses was redirected, his life changed forever. He turned his back on the flock, he never returned to that flock anymore after the fire of the burning bush. He was pursuing a direction that was different from God’s direction for his life and when God encountered him, he reconnected him back to that direction. Church Gist. He was pursuing a direction that had nothing to do with his destiny but God redirected him. Some of us are here tonight, you may be following the direction that is dangerous to your life, that is destructive to your destiny, that is opposite God’s plan for your life, may be you’re living a life of drugs, may be you’re living an immoral life, may be you’re living a drunkard’s life, may be you’re living a destructive life in a way that seems right unto a man but the Bible says the end of it are ways of destruction.
Mark 8:36. “And what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul”. I came all the way tonight because somebody is in need of direction. Church Gist. When man fell in the Garden of Eden, man became hopelessly lost after God drove man away from the Garden of Eden and from that day till tomorrow, majority of human beings have been missing road, missing road, missing the way, until God sent His Son Jesus back, to come and reconnect man back to the way by dying on the Cross of Calvary for the sins of man and making the way back to the Father and all we need to do is to reconnect with the Way, the Truth and the Life, that is Jesus Christ, have our sins forgiven and be connected to the plan of God for our lives. Church Gist. Then our earthly life will be meaningful, can be directed, can be quality. Then after we are done with this World, we have a guarantee of eternity with God in Heaven.
I am a medical doctor by training, my wife also is a doctor by training. One of the worst things I have ever seen as a doctor before I became a full time Pastor was when people wanted to die and they didn’t know where they are going after death. It’s such a miserable feeling. One day, I was sent for by a man. That man was like in his mid seventies at that time. He had a terminal disease, he was very restless. Church Gist. When I went to him, he said I should pray with him that he was not sure of his life. I preached to him and prayed for him and he heaved a sigh of relief and then he said, “I can now go. I am at peace with God” The summary of what he said, “I now know where I’m going”. I think under another 24 hours, that man slept and passed, peaceful, restful, because he got assurance of where he was going in the after life.
Beloved brothers and sisters, John 10:10. Quality life, meaningful life, productive life, directed life, quality life and above all, eternal life. Beloved brothers and sisters, this is the purpose of God’s power here tonight. Church Gist. We should continue tomorrow morning, continue tomorrow evening, invite all your friends and loved ones, let’s experience the life of God, let’s experience the manifestation of God’s power, paralyzed, crippled and all of that, God will be touching them!
