ENGAGING THE TURNAROUND POWER OF FAITH (4A) – PART C

I DON’T KNOW WHAT STRENGTH IS WORKING IN ME, BUT IT’S MORE THAN WHAT I HAD WHEN I WAS 50.
FAITH IS NOT JUST BELIEVING GOD; IT IS OBEYING GOD TO PROVE THAT WE BELIEVE HIM, SO AS TO COMMIT HIM TO CONFIRM HIS WORD IN OUR LIVES.
PROMPT OBEDIENCE COUNTS THE MOST IN THE SCHOOL OF FAITH; DELAYED OBEDIENCE IS DISOBEDIENCE IN DISGUISE.

• Bishop David Oyedepo on ENGAGING THE TURNAROUND POWER OF FAITH (4A) at Enough Is Enough Service || 22nd February 2026 || Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland || First Sunday Service || Part C

3. Faith is not a belief system, it is engaging with the power of God. The power of God is the factor that defines faith. “Somebody touched me” Jesus said and the Woman came trembling and told Him the reason for which she touched Him. He said, “For virtue is gone out of me, somebody has engaged the virtue I carry for her change of story.” You remember the story in Luke 8:45-48. Church Gist. “Thy faith has made thee whole” So faith is engaging with the power of God for our desired change of story. Faith taps into power to change our story. It’s not belief system like psychologist will think, it is engaging with the power of God for our desired change of story. A man was called Aeneas in (Acts 9:32-35) Acts 14:9,10. Faith taps into power to deliver our desired change of story.

– Somebody’s story is changing dramatically here.

Like that man who encountered Jesus on the field on Friday, this last Friday and instead of going to the grave, he is now living in a brand new world.

– Somebody is encountering God in this Service today that will change your story dramatically. Let me hear your loudest Amen!

4. Faith is not just believing God, it is obeying God to prove that we believe Him, so as to commit Him to confirm His Word in our lives. As we saw in Abraham, faith is not just believing God, faith is obeying God to prove that we believe Him, so as to commit Him to confirm His Word in our lives. That was the faith of Abraham and we are called to walk in the steps of Abraham. Romans 4:12. Church Gist. Obedience was the stronghold of Abraham’s faith, whatever God said was the final, he went all out for it, no adjustments. Genesis 22:2. “Take your son, your only son Isaac whom you love. Not Ishmael, Isaac” No assumption, he got up in the morning. God told him in the night, he got up early in the morning, he was on, all out. “Circumcise all the male born in your family” He started with themselves as soon as God left. I mean, obedience, unassumed obedience, unadjusted obedience, raw obedience.

But prompt obedience counts the most in the School of Faith. Say with me, “Prompt obedience counts the most in the School of Faith” Hebrews 11:7. Prompt obedience counts the most. Please, don’t let this operation go without your input. The package ordained for you cannot be obtained through prayer, it’s obedience. Church Gist. Strong on the Altar of Prayer with passion, reaching out to the lost with passion, that’s the way to get there. People pray for a lot of funny things. Sir, you can pray for eternity, without obedience nothing will happen. The Scriptures cannot be broken by anybody’s prayer. Even “Papa, pray for me” doesn’t matter. Obedience! So we saw Moses, prompt obedience, Gideon, prompt obedience, Nehemiah, prompt obedience, Peter, prompt obedience.

The episode at the Pool of Bethesda shows that prompt obedience is key for maximum delivery of faith. I mean, there was this Pool, an Angel comes in once in a while to trouble the water. Church Gist. Whosoever first steps in, not whosoever steps in, whosoever first steps in, not whosoever drags in, whosoever first steps in is made whole of whatever disease. Promptness is key to maximizing the impact of faith, promptness.

– Now, receive grace for prompt response of faith to every Word from the Lord. Can I hear your loudest Amen?

Delayed obedience is disobedience in disguise and can be most devastating in most cases. Now, think of crossing the Red Sea. Church Gist. God said to them, “Tell them to go forward” If they were still procrastinating, Pharoah’s Army will catch up with them and carry them back to captivity for another 400 years perhaps or forever. It was “Go forward!” “Yes, we are going forward” Psalm 114:3. Every time God gives an instruction, jump into it, dive into it, you’ll maximize the effect thereof. That’s the way it works.

– Thank you Jesus.

Isaiah 55:6. You don’t respond, He’s gone. You saw the story in Songs of Solomon 5:2-8. Knocking on the door of the beloved, he wouldn’t open, by the time he opened, the beloved had gone. Church Gist. Nobody keeps knocking on the door forever. Every revelation is a knock on the door of your heart, you open up, He comes in, you close the door, He goes away.

– Receive grace for prompt opening of the door of your heart to every truth of Scriptures. Let me hear your loudest Amen.

When I saw Matthew 33 in 1976, I dived into it that same night, I wrote a Covenant to make it my lifestyle. Prompt, prompt! And so this is 2026, that’s 50 years, I’m still on the field. That day, it took off me every other concern that young people have, off me and yet not irrelevant. It took off me and I knew I was up somewhere going. Prompt response. When I saw Deuteronomy 8:18 and God spoke to me on it, I said “Yea, I can never be poor” I signed up on the terms of the Covenant, 1982. Church Gist. Prompt response, the only way to maximize deep revelation. When I saw Matthew 8:17 from Hagin’s Book, “7 Keys To Divine Healing” I screamed “I can never be sick” Sir, I don’t know what strength is working in me oh, but it’s more than what I used to have when I was 50. Wake up, wake up! All this religiosity. Active faith! When the Lord showed me the mystery of Church growth, same week, same month, March 1984 we began “Come and See” We are still coming and seeing now. I think we went on “Come and See” last week. Church Gist. You will still go this week, you’ll go the following week. We’ll be going till He comes. Now, one instruction, 1984, still running with power till now. When you jump in like that, grace comes and grace keeps growing as you keep doing it.

– Again, receive grace for prompt response in the name of Jesus Christ. Thank you Jesus.
