I want to welcome you to a most explosive service this morning. It has been a very, very, very interesting week. Interesting week in many, many ways. On Wednesday, one of the most important messages you will ever hear was preached on the subject of divine health. The root and foundation for our divine health and healing. Church Gist. If you were not in that service, I’ll encourage you to pick up that message, go through and let God use it to deliver you from the season we in, where the enemy seems to be on rampage in afflicting the people and then by Thursday, we were in Akwa Ibom State, one of the most explosive crusades you have ever seen. You will see the clip shortly if our people have recovered from the journey because we all arrived, I think maybe close to 1:00am last night and then they will give a little details; the drummers, the keyboardists, the camera men, some of the protocols and others that went and it was a most interesting time.
We were received, a state delegation, head of service, commissioners received us at the airport and they were all along with the Governor and his wife, the Speaker of the House and his wife, state executives were all at the crusade, first night and also last night. I will be giving you the details and when the clip is ready, I will let you know.
There is a balm in Gilead, Jeremiah 8:22, there is a balm in Gilead. There is a balm in Gilead and there is a physician there. There is a oil in Gilead and there is a physician and this morning the balm in Gilead shall be applied and the physician shall do His work and the healing shall be effected in Jesus precious name.
Before we go into that anointing for healing and health, look at Exodus 23:25-26. Give the Lord a shout of praise. Church Gist. Going forward in the course of the month, we shall be looking at various things that will guarantee our divine health and this morning, we are looking at:
KINGDOM SERVICE AND DIVINE HEALTH.
Our objective is to understand the relationship between Kingdom service and divine health. Secondly, we shall be understanding the way in which kingdom service produces divine health and thirdly we shall be understanding how to serve effectively. Understanding the relationship between kingdom service; that is serving God and divine health. Understanding the way in which kingdom service brings about divine health and then understanding how to serve God effectively and productively. How our service to God will bring about result.
Throughout Scriptures, it is made very clear that there is a very strong relationship between serving God and living in strength and health and I am going to look at three examples, an example per service. The relationship between serving God and living in strength and health.
Example number one is the example of Abraham. We saw this briefly in the mid-week service. Abraham was officially called the servant of the Lord (Psalm 105:6, 42). So Abraham officially serve God to the point where he was called His servant. What was the strength of Abraham?
- Abraham went into battle at the age of almost a hundred, defeating the army of four nations in Genesis 14:14-17. Church Gist. A man as old as almost a hundred, going into battle by himself, slaying kings with the strength and the energy of God.
- Abraham undertook a three-day mountain expedition at the instruction of God when it was time to go sacrifice Isaac in Genesis 22:1-4, a three-day mountain expedition. This was around when Abraham will be about a hundred and twenty years old. When was the last time you saw an old man of 120 years undertook a journey that was involving the climbing of a mountain? That was the strength, the energy, the vitality of Abraham.
- We saw again vividly that Abraham had enough strength to prepare an altar and bound his son himself in Genesis 22:9. Abraham erected the altar himself, he built the altar himself, laid the wood in order by himself. Nobody assisted him, bound Issac his son, laid him on the altar upon the wood himself. Haba! What a strength, what energy!
- I speak to somebody here today, even though your years are increasing, your strength shall not reduce! The Bible says as your days are, so shall your strength be.
I’m not sure I can boost of three hours sleep last night. Church Gist. Here we are on the journey, stronger than most people who slept for six hours last night. As your days so shall your strength be.
- I am here to announce to somebody, in the name that is above every name, every trace of weakness in your life, in your system, disappear right now!
Shout a louder believer’s amen!
- You know the most exciting one to me, after Sarah’s death, Genesis 23:1-2. After Sarah’s death and you know Abraham was 10 years older, which means if Sarah had died at age 127, Abraham was 137. Abraham gave birth at the age of 100, Sarah gave birth at the age of 90, so Abraham was 137 years when he re-married, that is at age almost 140 in Genesis 24:1-2. What is more interesting was that Abraham was marrying, re-marrying after Isaac had married. That is the Issac that he did not give birth to on time. The Isaac he gave birth to at age 100. Isaac got wife, then Abraham is set to get a new wife afresh, that was Genesis 24:67. Abraham re-married in chapter 25, Isaac married in chapter 24:67.
Which kind man is this? You are marrying new wife after you son that you didn’t born on time has married. Church Gist. What kind of strength is this? It is the strength of kingdom service. It is the health of kingdom service and to crown it all, he died in good old age, sickless and energetic (Genesis 25:7-8).
- No devil will cut your life short!
If you are saying amen, say it like a believer.
Say a louder believer’s amen!
Say Amen like you mean it. - Lift your right hand, say I shall fulfill my days. I cannot be cut short before my time. I shall fulfill my days.
Shout the loudest amen!
So kingdom service clearly is secret of divine strength and divine health. The question is, how does kingdom service bring about divine health?
I will give a reason in this service, I will continue in the next service.
- Divine health is a kingdom health insurance policy for kingdom labourers. Everything you see in the physical is a shadow of the spiritual. You know that man was made in the image of God and the earth was made in the image of heaven, I’m sure you are aware of that. Church Gist. Not this earth, the garden of Eden, that one, that one, that beautiful one.
In the book of John 15:2, the Bible says every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, that is fruitful, that is a labourer, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. It says for as long as you are a fruit bearing branch, I am committed to your health. This is how I normally put it; that God services those who serve. To serve the Lord is to be serviced by the Lord. There are times when you are lying down in the night, exhausted and tired and the angels are servicing your body, servicing your system.
Those who serve the Lord are serviced by the Lord. I have witnessed that practically many times. I have told you the story, one day after I have overworked myself, I lay down on the bed and as if it was telling a little bit on the body and my wife was a bit concerned because she knows this guy is very, very restless and very aggressive. I was just lying down there, suddenly her eyes opened and she saw an angel standing in front of the bed, like calm down, the system is alright. I just jerked up out of bed and begin to preach the next preaching like a man from another world.
For 25 solid years, by God’s grace, there has never been a service I have missed once by His mercies on the ground of weakness. Church Gist. Yesterday I was preparing three messages at once before I went for the crusade in the evening. Sunday service message and the crusade even night message because the Sunday service message must go out. I was even wondering on how to cope. The sleep of a labouring man is sweet. When you labour for Jehovah, when you sleep for one hour, it is equal to some people’s six hours. Am I communicating at all?
There is a kingdom health insurance policy and by His grace I trust the Lord that that testimony will remain permanent by His mercies. But for this particular service, Wednesday or Tuesday or Sunday, I have been absent or something because I was weak or sick or whatever, by His mercies, that hasn’t been, will never be by His grace.
In the book of Malachi 3:17 – And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, I will service them, I will keep them whole, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. I will spare him, I will service him, what others go through, I will take him from it. Church Gist. I will deliver him from what others pass through as a man spareth his son that serveth him.
- Maybe you have been serving God and the devil has also been tormenting you, today is the end of it forever!
- The last time the devil put you down shall be the last forever!
If you work for big organizations and great corporations, they have insurance package, health insurance. They have a robust health allowance. If this small place here that you are working, the staff of this place, God forbid it they have any little challenge, there is some level of, not just prayer, that is assisted them. When you work for places like the United Nations, those kind of big organizations, it is totally covered. How much more the Kingdom and Jehovah does not send you to hospital, He is the hospital. He doesn’t send you to anyone. He is the great physician. You work for me, I checked out the affliction from your system.
- I announce to somebody here, whatever was in your system before you came here today is checking out back to hell!
Very, very quickly, what kind of kingdom service do we have to offer?
I’m going to be really fast in this and this is going to be the same throughout except that different Scriptures might be use.
- The service of the sanctuary (Exodus 35:1). Serving God in His sanctuary. Church Gist. Making the sanctuary a place of encounter with God for others who come. All the way from sanctuary keepers, all the way to choir, ushering to the protocols, all the way to intercessors, the ones we see, the ones we can’t see to those who control the traffic. Everybody involved in making sure people encounter God comfortably as they come; the service of the sanctuary.
When I rededicated my life to Christ in the year of 1986, 12th of May, nobody advised me, I cleaned the chairs out in the fellowship where I went on campus there and then stood at the exit and began to welcome others to Church. I wasn’t there, that was my first time; the service of the sanctuary.
- The service of prayer. When you commit yourself to intercession and praying for the establishment of God’s purpose in the earth, in the Church (Luke 2:36-37). Praying and fasting for the Kingdom is a service, it is a kingdom service. Many times when you mention prayer, people only think about what to ask from God for themselves. That is elementary prayer, that is kindergarten prayer. When you take it upon yourself, souls must be saved, the Church must explode, the crusade coming, the devil must bow, it is a service that guarantees your divine health package.
- The service of soul-winning (Acts 1:8). The crusade we went to in Akwa Ibom, there are those who took it upon themselves, restlessly, day and night praying. Church Gist. This is one of those services that makes God, you see when you do the things that touches the heart of God, you don’t need to beg God to do those things that touches you.
In Akwa Ibom State yesterday, after the explosive morning session and then went to see our Church location that they are building afresh and then another pastor asked me to come and break the ground for their new church and then by the time we finished from that branch, people had gathered around the road side and evangelising continues, that is, we are not just looking for big crowd on the crusade ground, we are still interested in one-on-one.
There are some jokers who said I am a global Evangelist, they haven’t preached to one person on the street before, he is waiting until the stadium is filled for him to come and stand and show his arrogance. He has not preach to one person before. Hallelujah!
You don’t need to be a pastor to preach the gospel. Everybody is called. This service of soul-winning is a service that will change your life. If at least you cannot preach, you can invite somebody to follow you to church and you take it as part of your service to God for someone’s life to change.
- The service of worship. In the Scripture, they called it the service of song (1 Chronicles 6:31). Church Gist. Every single person that is called, that is a child of God is to offer, to show forth praises (1 Peter 2:9) in your closet, in your personal life. There are times I don’t understand why people just, there are just normal during praise worship because nothing moves them except there is a football match playing, you will see their energy when it is football or a movie on the television. If anything moves you more than God, something is wrong, if anything moves you more than the things of God, something is absolutely very wrong. If your excitement is turned on by anything else more than God, something is wrong. It’s not only this church o, anywhere you catch me, you can’t catch me standing like a standard bank when praise is going on. Is it not my God that they are worshiping, my Jehovah who pull me out of nowhere, who delivered me from disaster and death in childhood? The same God who is keeping me alive, the stone the builder rejected that has become the head of a corner? I’m going to dance and over-dance. I am going to celebrate and over-celebrate.
You can’t keep me! The other day I was coming to the office and I heard some music and my shoulders started moving, worship music and somebody said you are moving. I said if you don’t want my body to move, don’t praise. It is wired inherent. I don’t need your advice. It may be on the road, at times I have to catch myself to be sure the music is a correct one.
- The service of giving. Your giving is a service and we are not just talking about tithe now, that’s elementary. The Bible says a seed shall serve him (Psalm 22:30). Church Gist. Is it possible to function the way we are functioning now without the ministry of seed? No!
How many of us saw me preaching at the crusade last night? When did the crusade finish? Some minutes to 10:00pm. Is there any airport in Nigeria that you will go by 10 or 11 and say I want to catch flight to Abuja? No! But we have three private airplane, one, two, three waiting on the ground, struggling to pick us. I have to beg this one, I said we follow you to go, please allow us to follow the other one so that they too can receive a blessing, one person sent his own, another person sent his own, another person, chartered one, to carry us, carry television crew, carry ICT crew, carry drummers, carry instrumentalists, carry musicians to return back for all of us to be in the service this morning. That is the purpose of money. That is why the devil is against the prosperity of the Church, because he knows we will do more with resources than without resources but I announce to somebody here today, in the name that is above every name, there is no power of shortage, no power of scarcity that will prevent you from doing the will of God in this end time!
I am so happy with our evangelistic approach. The airplane that was brought, it’s not for the big man, it’s also for the drummer provided you are on the team. It’s as good as entering the bus. Many of them, it’s the first time in their life but they have to because they are identified with the work of God. It is a service when you say Lord, here is my ship like Peter gave to the Master to use it to fish, here is my resources, here is my tool, here is my equipment; I make it available. It is a service that causes Jehovah to service you.
- I announce to somebody here today, in the name of Jesus, a new season is upon you. A new day is upon you!
The airport was extended and said we can’t close, this people must go before you close. Extended till anytime the crusade finished. It is good to serve the Lord and to serve Him passionately. It is good to make ourselves, our lives a living sacrifice. It is more rewarding than it is more demanding. Very, very quickly before I round up this morning. How do you serve God effectively and productively?
- Serve with faith and understanding. That is you are serving with the faith and the understanding that God is not using you neither are you helping God. Church Gist. That, this I am doing is for my benefits (Hebrews 11:6). Whatever you are doing for God is more beneficial to you than to the Kingdom, that understanding is necessary.
- Serve heartily and passionately. Let service comes from the heart (Romans 12:11). Don’t serve sluggishly. Don’t be looking for who to say; thank you, thank you, thank you all the time. Serve from your heart with passion because you know you are not doing this unto man. Serve heartily, passionately.
- Serve excitedly and enthusiastically (Deuteronomy 38:46-48). Don’t serve as if you are under pressure, don’t serve as if you are doing someone a favour. Serve excitedly, enthusiastically. Be happy looking usher, happy looking greeter, happy looking traffic control officer. Be excited irrespective of what happens. The reason why this is important is; you can do the right thing with the wrong spirit and lack results. There are people serving God for donkey years with nothing to show. Church Gist. Where there is no revelation, there can be no revolution, there will be no manifestation. It is not what you do that matters but the spirit with which you did it. It is not what is done that counts but the spirit with which it was done. The Bible says with God, actions are weighed (1 Samuel 2:3). He doesn’t just see what you do, he sees the reason why you are doing it, the spirit behind the deed.
- Serve uprightly and reverentially (Hebrews 12:28-29). Don’t be a crook and then you are in church pretending you are upright. When people come from your office and look at you, very, very quiet and gentle, they say is this the person that is gentle like this? Church Gist. Wonders will never end because they know you on Monday, they know you on Tuesday.
Serve Him reverently. Behave in your office as if you are in the Church. Behave with your wife or husband as if you are in the Church then your service can be accepted and not corrupted.
- Serve in humility. Serve selflessly and in humility (Acts 20:17). Serving the Lord with all humility, not with pride. No matter how gifted you are, calm down. No matter how anointed you are, calm down. No matter how talented you are, calm down.
If you don’t serve God in these ways, a little levelling, a little keresone can spoil the whole thing.
Prayer:
Give Him the praise, give Him the adoration. Father we worship You, Father we honour You, Father we adore You. Blessed be Your name, honour to Your name, worship to Your name, adoration to Your name. Thank You master, thank You Adonai in Jesus precious name.
Lift up your hands and say Father, I have received Your word today. I receive the grace to serve You in the sanctuary, to serve You in prayer, to serve You in soul-winning, to serve You in worship, to serve You in giving. I receive the grace to serve You with faith and understanding, to serve You heartily and passionately, to serve You excitedly and enthusiastically, to serve You in uprightness and with reverence. Church Gist. I receive the grace to serve You with humility and selflessness, engrace me Lord. I am sorry for how I serve You in the time past that produce no result. Give me the grace to serve You well, to serve You correctly in the name of Jesus.
