DON’T WATCH MOVIES OR PLAY GAMES THAT DO NOT PLEASE GOD, THEY WILL CORRUPT YOUR CHARACTER.
AS A CHILD, AVOID BAD FRIENDS THAT WILL CORRUPT YOUR GOOD MANNERS.
EVERY CHILD OF GOD MUST LEARN TO BE HONEST, ALWAYS SAY THE TRUTH, NO MATTER WHAT IT IS.
TEENAGERS, IF YOU WANT TO BE USEFUL AND MAKE IT IN LIFE, DON’T IGNORE GOD’S INSTRUCTIONS.
DON’T LIVE LIKE THE CHILDREN OF THE WORLD.
THE FEAR OF THE LORD GIVES YOU ACCESS TO THE WISDOM OF THE LORD.

I thank God for this privilege given to me to bring the Word of God to everyone of us. And I thank the Servant of God for this privilege. Everyone of you seated, God will bless you in the Name of Jesus. Church Gist. Our children, God bless you in the Name of Jesus Christ. This Service will mark a new beginning for you in Jesus mighty Name!
Today is a wonderful day that has been set aside to acknowledge our children. This Sunday is for children, children we celebrate you. God bless you, you will never remain the same again in the Name of Jesus! Church Gist. You can see what they have done, better than we the adults, speaking boldly. God bless you! You will fulfill purpose in the Name of Jesus. Children are the heritage of the Lord Psalms 127:3.
-I pray for those that desire to have their own in the Name of Jesus, the Lord will reward you with the fruit of the womb in Jesus’ Name!
Children are a good and perfect gift from God to us James 1:17. Church Gist. They are blessings to humanity and God’s blessings are sorrow-free Proverbs 10:22.
-I decree that all our children shall fulfill destiny in the Name of Jesus.
The Theme this morning is: Kingdom child that is living like Christ but my topic this morning is: HAVING GODLY CHARACTER (LIVE THE LIFE OF CHRIST).
Who is a Kingdom child?
A Kingdom child is one who exhibits the lifestyle of Christ here on earth. They are imitators of God in how they live and what they do Ephesians 5:1 (AMPC). Church Gist. So we ought to imitate Christ and live like God on earth.
What is godly character?
Godly character are those traits in one’s life that describes the attitude and nature of God. Church Gist. Godly character is that attribute that makes people see Christ in you. Anywhere you are, they say, ‘This is the child of God’. That, distinguishes you from other people. It is what adds beauty to Christian living.
What is living like Christ?
Living like Christ is simply demonstrating the nature of Christ here on earth. Living like Christ is possible, every child of God is to live like Christ. You cannot call yourself a Christian and live contrary to Christianity. Christians simply means ‘Christ-like’. If you say that you are a Christian, you are living like Christ, anybody that sees you will see you as a child of God. Church Gist. Not to have two characters, display one in the Church and display another one somewhere. Doing what unbelievers should do, that does not show that you are a Christian. So becoming a Christian makes you a new creature 2 Corinthians 5:17. So when you are a Christian, you are a child of God, you are born again, everything about you becomes new, you live like Christ. Those things you used to do, you will start dropping them gradually and God will help everyone in the Name of Jesus.
-The grace to always live like Christ rests upon us in the Name of Jesus!
To our children,
Children listen to me. I want you to know that Jesus loves you and wants you to live like Him. It is the Christ in you that makes you the best in life not the clothes they wear you. Not how beautiful you are but the Christ in you makes you the best here on earth. Your friends will want to follow you when they see Christ in you. Are you hearing me children all over the world? So you must show them the godly character that you have, show them the godly character. Don’t do what they are doing! When they are copying in school, don’t copy. When they are doing evil, don’t follow them. Show them the Christ in you and when they see Christ in you, they will follow you to Jesus. Children, are you hearing me?
-That will be your portion in the Name of Jesus!
Children, are you hearing me? Show them the Christ in you, stop doing what they are doing. When they are stealing, don’t join them to steal, when they are insulting people, don’t insult.
Some godly character traits you will find in Kingdom children:
1. They honour and respect their parents, elders, Pastors and others. As children, you must learn to honour and respect people especially your parents. There is a promise attached to it when you respect your parents Ephesians 6:2-3. So if you don’t honour your parents, it will not be well with that child not you -I know you honour your parents. So if you want to live long on earth, you must honour your parents. When you honour your parent, you honour your father and mother, you will live long on earth. You cannot disrespect your parents and expect God to bless you, children are you hearing me? Proverbs 20:20 (CEV). Children, do you want to live long? Do you want God to bless you? Then honour your parents, also learn to respect your Pastors and elders in the Name of Jesus! As you do so, God will bless you in the Name of Jesus! Even the adults seated too, you have parents too, honour and respect them.
-And as you do that you will live long in the Name of Jesus!
2. They make friends with wise people
As children of God, don’t make friends with fools, when you make friends with fools, you will hurt yourself and become foolish. God forbid! But when you make friends with the wise, you will become wise Proverbs 13:20 (CEV). Church Gist. If you want your parents to be happy then walk with the wise. Foolish friends will lead you astray and make you not to fulfill God’s purpose for your life but wise friends will help you to become a better person in life.
-May God give you the wisdom to make wise friends in Jesus’ mighty Name!
3. They don’t yield to negative influences
Even adults, when we are talking about godly characters, don’t say, ‘This one is for the children! Including you, including me. Children, beware of negative influences such as peer pressure, the entertainment industry, the internet, TV movies, video games, ungodly music and books – Children avoid them. Church Gist. Papa has taught about it over and over, every music has its own spirit. That thing that you are watching, that when people come, you turn it off, as a child, be careful. Avoid bad friends that will corrupt your good manners 1 Corinthians 15:33. If you follow them to go on a holiday and follow them to watch all those films, by the time you come back, you will not be the same again Psalms 1:1.
Boyfriends will influence you negatively and lead you to hell. Don’t watch movies or play games that do not please God. They will influence your thoughts and corrupt your character. You see some children have started practicing certain things, watching gay films. Church Gist. In some schools, they purposely put it for children to watch and tell them that God created them the same, that they should not worry. Children, those things are bad, don’t follow them to watch. There are Christian movies you can watch, godly music you can listen to and there are godly books you can read.
-May the Holy Spirit guide our children in the Name of Jesus!
4. They are contented, honest and have integrity and self-control
Every child of God must learn to be honest, always say the truth, no matter what it is. When your parents or somebody else asks you something, say the truth, don’t join them to keep lying, have integrity! Don’t take people’s money, don’t go to School and pack your classmate’s biros and books. Parents, when they come back, search their bags, don’t allow somebody’s biro to be in your child’s bag. You know the things you didn’t buy for your child, if he is living in boarding school, come there! Church Gist. And you see somebody’s trousers or whatever in the bag, tell the child, ‘I didn’t buy this for you, who is the owner’? And boldly return it. Don’t say, ‘Thank God oo so I will not buy biro this time’! What kind of thing? Rulers, you will pack them and say, ‘Thank God!! They are not yours! So you are teaching the child, insist that he must return it. Frown towards it so that your child will know that it is not good. When they send you on errand children and there is money remaining, return it. Don’t hide it or lie about it, give it to your parents or anybody that sends you on the errand, return the money. Are you hearing me?
Children don’t covet other people’s things. Be content, and satisfied with what you have per time Luke 12:15. Covetousness can make you go and steal so avoid it. When you start seeing your child that it is everything he doesn’t have that the child wants, start teaching the child to be content. It is good to admire somebody, you look beautiful but it’s not necessary that I must have what you have. Church Gist. Even at this age, with the position my husband has, I admire women that are able to see good things, look beautiful, wear different things and carry everything because they have time for it. It is good but you can’t be me and I will not be you, I admire you that you are beautiful and you wear make-up, which is very good but I won’t be able to do those things, but I will admire you, I will be content with the way I am.
Be glad with whatever your parents provide for you, pray that God will keep blessing your parents so they will keep providing for you. Are you hearing me, children? God answers children, so pray for your parents! If you need those things, pray that God should make money available for your parents to buy them for you. Are you hearing me?
5. They have the fear of God
Our children must have the fear of God! Don’t live like the children of the world. Those who want to make Heaven always have the fear of God. You must hate evil, that is what makes you fear God Proverbs 8:13a. Joseph hated every appearance of evil because he had the fear of God. God blessed and promoted him in Egypt because he hated evil Genesis 39:1-12. Church Gist. Run away from sin because it is what can corrupt the fear of God, sin can lead to death, so avoid it Romans 6:23. The fear of the Lord gives you access to the wisdom of the Lord, when you fear God He gives you an excellent spirit. The wisdom you need to excel in school can be gotten through the fear of God. Joseph by wisdom gave a solution to the challenges of Egypt Proverbs 9:10.
-God will use our children to proffer solutions to Nigeria in the Name of Jesus! Globally, all over the world in the Name of Jesus.
-I pray that you receive grace to walk in the fear of God in the Name of Jesus.
To our teenagers,
If you want to be useful and to make it in life, don’t ignore God’s instructions Proverbs 4:13, John 2:5b. It is God’s instruction that will make you wise and rule your world Proverbs 19:20, Psalms 32:8. You must exemplify the Christ in you. Church Gist. Children, are you hearing me? Don’t be like other children – Ragamuffins, carrying dreadlocks up and down, there is nothing to show you are a child of God!
Parents be careful, you know the teenagers will want to overpower you, don’t allow them to overpower you. Are you hearing me? You cannot outgrow godly characters or else you will become an outcast. God forbid! Church Gist. Make God your focus and the world will focus on you. Teenagers, your parents are still your parents! Don’t undermine them, listen to them if you want to be great in life. At this stage they don’t want to listen to their parents, they want to do whatever. But if you leave them, you will regret Proverbs 1:8.
Note, Jesus Christ was subject to his earthly parents, he never looked down on them. Children, don’t look down on your parents, don’t say, ‘What is this old man talking’? Or what is this old woman talking’? Church Gist. Does he know what is reigning? Nothing reigns but the Word of God, it’s forever. The Word of God is the truth. In Luke 2:51a to 52, because Jesus honoured and respected His parents, He increased in wisdom and also enjoyed all round favour.
-I decree, nothing will corrupt your life and destiny in Jesus’ Name.
To parents, guardians, school teachers and children leaders,
We have an obligation to bring up the children in the fear of the Lord Proverbs 22:6. Teach them everything that portrays the lifestyle of Christ. Love them the way Christ loves them. You know the children? When they were talking, I was listening carefully. All they have been saying is ‘Love’- That you give them listening ears. Please parents, if you don’t give them the time, they will go outside and talk to other people. Please, exercise patience with them, hear them out and God will help you in the Name of Jesus!
I call David, I use Facetime to talk with him. At times I do talk to him to the level that the phone will be very hot. I will use something to hold it, it will be so hot in my hand because the battery will go down. At times, he will be playing games and I will be saying, ‘Yes! You are doing well’! Church Gist. Even as he is walking down his hostel, I will be watching and I will say, ‘I’m seeing you oo’. You are walking and once I call him and I’m not seeing him, I will say, ‘David, I want to see you, I want to see how you are looking today. Because I am older than him na! I want to know where he is, ‘I want to see your face! It’s Facetime, can I see your face? You look handsome today, what did you eat’? Can I see you as you are eating?
If he says that he is walking, I will say, ‘Can I see you as you are walking’? Let me see the way you are walking! That is it! Your child will not know, you are just timing him, checking things! He says he’s talking with a friend and you say, ‘Ah! Let me see this your friend and where you are talking from. Church Gist. He says, he’s in the class, he is reading and he wants to go somewhere, I will say, ‘It is Facetime’, that is what I use to talk with him not audio – We will talk, he will see me and I will see him. Yes! That is it! You people try and make out time, I know you may not have all the time, make out time! Church Gist. Even if it is at night before they sleep, see the child, know how the child is looking! So you love them, they’ve told you to love them. Remember we are accountable to God concerning them. Do you know that? Teach them good morals, pray for them and lead an exemplary life for them to emulate. We are the Body of Christ including our children 1 Corinthians 12:47. So we have the responsibility to make sure Christ is formed in our children Galatians 4:19.
-It is my prayer that we will not disappoint God in the Name of Jesus!
Every Kingdom child must exhibit the lifestyle of Christ. Be interested in their affairs. Watch the kind of friends they keep, the kind of movies they watch, the kind of music they listen to, the kind of books they read. In David’s room, I can just walk in and tiptoe because he is always watching something. Church Gist. What are you watching? Let’s watch it together! He will say, ‘Mommy!!! I will say, ‘No! Let’s watch together’! If he’s talking to somebody, he will say, ‘My mother is hearing’! I will say, ‘Yes’!
The time is short you know? I would have made you people laugh – The one that happened recently, I was hearing him talk to somebody and I now tiptoed and I said, ‘Who are you talking to? He said that it was a friend there and I stayed because he was watching this animated program. He was watching and I said, ‘Are those people now talking’? (Laughing). Church Gist. So I have to be convinced of who he is talking with. And parents, if you don’t like a child your child is friendly with, tell the parents of those children to hold their children. Hold your children, it’s not a must! I don’t want my child to be friendly with your child, I don’t want my child to spoil! Simple! Hold your child.
Watch and control the access to social media platforms, let godly character be built strongly in them. You people, you know you are very civilized but me one look on a child that is bad towards David, I will not tell you anything. But when I look at you, one or two times, you will find your way! Church Gist. Always ask the Holy Spirit to help you! Remember that what you put in them is what you, we and the society will get out of them. Plant godly seeds in them if you want to reap a godly harvest from them. It is what is in them that determines who they will become in life. I hope you know. So watch how you raise them, please make them to please God in all they do. Our children must talk, act and live like Christ. This is what makes them great and gives them a bright future.
-May God help us to raise godly children in Jesus’ mighty Name! Our children are blessed in Jesus’ Name!
