During the First Service on Sunday, Pastor David Ibiyeomie of Salvation Ministries narrated how the wisdom of God brought them out of a difficult situation during the construction of The Cathedral (120,000-Seat Capacity Auditorium – The Hand of God).
According to him, when the design of the Cathedral was brought to him, he discovered that columns (pillars) were everywhere inside the main auditorium. So he had to call the Structural Engineers and Architects and they all affirmed that it is the best thing to do professionally. According to them, the gallery inside the main auditorium was long hence the need for the columns to be there so it doesn’t fall. But he wasn’t satisfied with their response even though they were right professionally.
The columns will act as a hindrance that will prevent people from seeing the altar properly and also distort the aesthetics of the building. So he asked them if anything could be done but that all responded in the negative.
According to him, he didn’t study Civil Engineering neither did he study Architecture but he didn’t want the main hall to be filled with columns. So he had to go to God in prayers to ask for the way out. God gave him a clear picture of what to do and instructed him to tell the engineers what they should do.
He called his team of engineers for a meeting and he told them what God had shown him. “Shift the gallery backwards and put these pillars outside. From inside, it will still be the same length but from outside, the pillars will be outside.” One of the architects called his attention and said, “excuse me sir, this is not school. How did you think about this kind of thing?” He replied, “no man taught me. It’s the Holy Spirit.”
He further stressed that if all you do is by school, you will be limited in life because what you know is what sinners know also. He emphasized that it’s the same thing that is being taught in school. As believers, we need a cutting edge (divine wisdom) to beat them. He also stressed that many Christians attend all the courses which is not wrong but they don’t ask God for divine wisdom. “A man of wisdom can never be despised in any organisation” – he concluded.
