In a bid to encourage people that God can change the story of a man his background notwithstanding, Apostle Iren shared the story of how Pastor Jerry Eze went to school.
According to him, they both went to pay a condolence visit to late Dr. Uma Ukpai’s family and on their way back, Pastor Jerry told him the story of how he went to school. According to the story he was told, Pastor Jerry came from a poor background and it was almost impossible for him to go to school because of financial constraint. He would have ended up being a mechanic.
A Christian family approached him and offered to see him through school and also told him that he would be staying with them. He was told to inform the mother. When the mother was told, she was very happy because she has been praying to God for sponsorship for his son. But when she was told that his son would be staying with the family, she objected.
They had to convince her because where they were staying at that time wasn’t a conducive environment for a young man. Opposite their house was a place where smokers smoke and play snooker and there was a brothel close to the house. She eventually allowed him.
Apostle Iren said the story of Pastor Jerry touched him heavily. He further stated that God can anoint a person who grew up from the village and give him a global presence. “If not for yourself but for the people around you, let God give you resources” – he concluded.
