Do you know that in 1985 all our State Overseers were sent to Korea because right now the Church in Korea is a single Church but they are more than 500,000. At that time, they were about 400,000 and we were going to have the cell group system. I knew that in Yonggi Cho’s Church he raised his Church and brought out the principles of cell growth and we started the house fellowship system and by the grace of God it was successful. I think I had read almost every single material on the House Fellowship system, you could lay your hand upon. Church Gist. I had read almost every thing. We had planned everything and it was working but I decided that all our State Overseers, about 17 leaders in Lagos and 18 State Overseers making it 35 must go to Korea and learn just this House Fellowship. I didn’t feel I had to go with them because I read and study and I am more exposed than all of them.
I could go alone and come and tell them what I saw but how will they understand. I wanted the Church to grow. I knew that they are Deeper Life, they won’t go to Korea and come back and say that they are no more Deeper Life and they all went and came back. Church Gist. The amount of money we spent for the flight alone, you know Korea is not like Ghana. If you were excited about going to Korea when you get on the airplane you will say why did I decide to go? Because you will sit for long. Since I was born I have never been to Korea but all of our leaders have gone and it doesn’t bother me. I want the Church to grow and whatever will help the Church to grow let’s all do it. Let’s make it available.
Here we are now, if I didn’t tell you, you will not know that we even learnt anything from Korea. You will think “Deeper Life people, they just dig it out on their own”. I was listening to this Brother this morning and I was telling Brother Augustine Odih that see this Brother we sent to Korea, He is even doing more than Korea. I have listened to the cassette they listened to when they went to Korea, and listening to that cassette I don’t think I could find a single page to even write down. Church Gist. They came back and developed it , they are preaching and you write eight pages, ten pages. That is because we are exposing them.
What If we just hear this and do not expose our Pastors and Leaders. We should expose the Pastors and Leaders because they need to grow. There are leaders in other denominations that are your friends don’t say “I will not tell them of what we got, so that they will not grow above us”. Church Gist. What if they grow above us, does it matter? The people that taught me about Salvation, Baptism of the Holy Spirit, now I know more about evangelism than they do . But I still believe that on the last day when God wants to reward the work in Deeper Life, He will reward my teachers also for what God has done through me. Because without them, I couldn’t have started at all.
If you give someone who didn’t come the cassette of this meeting, if their Churches grow more than us when they are receiving their reward, we will also receive part of the reward because we are instrumental to their growth. If we make this cassette available to all these State Overseers and they start growing. If they start growing, Even if I am unhappy and God is happy then it is good luck. If you grow , that is the will of God.
