During his sermon on Sunday, Bishop Abioye emphasized the need to stand in the fear of the Lord, doing that which is always right. He also stated that we’re not to do things that are wrong simply because others are doing it.
In his words, “We are to train ourselves in the fear of the Lord. We develop it. The system of the world won’t want you to live in the fear of the Lord. They tell you to play smart. The system of the world tells you ‘be smart’, but the system of this Kingdom tells you, ‘be right’. Church Gist. You are smart, you can be snared, you are right, you will be high. Do what is right. That’s the morality of the fear of the Lord. That’s the morality of sanctification. Do what is right. Abstain from what is evil… They say, ‘But everybody is doing it’ I am not everybody, I am someone. You throw yourself to the class of everybody, you go as low as everybody. You put yourself in the class of exceptional, then God will make you exceptionally high. I don’t care how many people are doing it. Church Gist. They say, ‘But you see, there are some pastors who collect money and then you know, they prophesy and people give’ That’s now me! There are pastors, but that’s not me!”
