While ministering during the Covenant Day Of Favour at the Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland, Bishop Oyedepo shared several points to entreat favour with God. During his message, he highlighted the easiest way to attract God’s favour into any life is to favour God’s own cause. He said “Favour God’s cause and He will keep favouring you. Just keep favouring His cause and He will keep favouring you. You have never heard me preach one thing against the Church of Christ. That’s His Body. I have never taken one step in my life against the Church Of Christ. Not in thoughts or acts. Church Gist. You can’t favour His cause and run out of favour. Some are inside a church and are working against the church. Their own church and they are working against the church where they are in day and night. They are inside a service group and they are working against the service group. They have their cliques and they are discussing how to destroy the group.”
Speaking further, he retold an encounter he had years ago with one of the established churches in a village he went to hold a crusade “We needed to put a place for people to fellowship. They had this abandoned property since 1954 and the village people who were Muslims said we should talk to the church if they can give part of the land for us to use. Church Gist. We spoke to them and they refused. I said, are we not doing the same thing? The pastor said No, we are not doing the same thing. I started shedding tears. The man is a pastor and he didn’t know that we are preaching the same Christ. Stop playing jamboree games in church. Do you want favour from God? favour His cause”
