In his Sermon at the End of the Month Celebration Service, Bishop Abioye stated how people make mistakes by relying solely on the prayers of God’s Servants, ruling out the place of their personal work and study.
In his words, “When we pray for you as privileged servants of God, we give you the first motion, but the continuity will depend on you. This is where many people make mistakes, ‘I’ll go to my Pastor, he’ll pray for me.’ True, we’ll pray for you, it will give you initial motion, but sustainable motion is determined by you. I have Spiritual Fathers who propelled me, but I had to work hard to sustain me. It’s not only me they prayed for. I can pray for a hundred people to start off, but I cannot pray to sustain you. You have to go and get yourself loaded with the Word of God. I pray that God will give you the discipline required to study the Word!”
He further stated that he desires the Congregation to know God, experience Him, be in health and have positive results just the way he does, quoting from Daniel 11:32 ‘…but the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits.’
