SO I CAN BRING IN THE THINGS THEY HAVE THAT ARE MISSING IN THE PENTECOSTAL.
– Bishop David Abioye
While ministering on Sunday, Bishop Abioye emphasized the need to always listen, as it makes one versatile in knowledge.
He said, “Hearing is key to versatility. How do I know what I know? I hear what people are saying. When I sit among lawyers, I listen, I listen to them, I pick their words, I pick their thinking processes, I pick their presentation. When I am among medical doctors, I listen to them. I don’t say, ‘What concerns me?’ Learning is about life not about books. When I listen to Engineers, I listen with keenness. I listen to market people with keenness and that’s why you will witness with all sense of modesty, when I’m teaching, you’ll hear me talk as if I know everything. Church Gist. I am not trying to know everything about something, but I learn something about everything, that makes me versatile. I don’t only listen to Charismatic and Pentecostal preachers, I listen to Orthodox preachers, so that what is missing among the Pentecostal, I can bring it in. I listen! With all due respect, I listen to Catholic priests, because there are things they have that we play about with. I listen to Anglican priests, I listen to Baptist priests, there are deposits inside them. Keep learning by hearing!”
