While ministering at the Financial Fortune Banquet, Bishop Oyedepo admonished his congregation to always add value to other people by being a giver. He said by God’s grace, there are many homes that draw succor from the blessings of God in his life. In his own words, “Today, my family services a number of orphanages, challenged and old people’s homes. Not because you are celebrating your birthday. Every month! They can’t eat on your birthday today and be hungry till your next birthday. They may not exist before then. We are not talking about giving them Coca Cola on your birthday. So what happens between now and your next birthday? One time I gave 23 cars out. 23 cars in one sweep. Not that they were parked in the house, I bought them. Church Gist. Understand this and let it become a delight. Mark somebody down that you can extend good will to. Help children that are out of school, Primary School fees and the Coca Cola you drink in a day will pay three times of it. Develop the appetite for it, let it be part of your life. Always think of how to add value somewhere. First the Kingdom of God and then others. Give according to your level. “For if a man gives according to what he has, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not” (2 Corinthians 8:12). God does not lay burden on anybody. If you check what scholarship we were giving in those days, that was the level we were at. There is no point posing. That challenged individual is not depending on you, if you don’t do it somebody else will do it. God will come down and do it. So don’t brag that you gave someone two mudus of garri. The two mudus of garri, who gave it to you? God!”
