Lord, we give you glory and praise, we magnify you Lord, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
Father in the precious name of Jesus, Lord, we ask you Holy Spirit of the living God, that you will cause our heart to receive your Word, that everyone under the influence of this service will blessed, lives will be transformed, destinies will be remoulded, change will answer to everyone, transform everyone’s life, let the sinners be saved. Let the unction backing this Commission and your servant David Ibiyieomie answer to me, thank you as everyone will leave here refreshed in Jesus precious name, give the Lord a big hand and you may be seated.
I have the awesome privilege to bring the one to bring us God’s Word and the menu of Heaven this evening this very first service, a privilege given to me by God that I consider very sacred and it will not be mismanage through his servant Papa, he is not here, I thank him, I thank Mama, I thank the team of pastors and every one of us seated and watching through various media, it’s my prayer for you tonight that you will not remain the same in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
TOPIC: ENJOYING COLOURFUL CHRISTIANITY
Hear this, if poverty of Christians was God’s will, why is it that God does not have so much of it in Heaven. Matthew 6: 10. Let your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. If God wants you to be poor, he will have so much poor there (in Heaven) and he will be poor himself, if suffering and torture is God’s divine plan for his people, why did he not freely give us torture and suffering, rather he told us that we should enjoy all things that he has freely given to us. 1st Timothy 6: 17. It means torture and suffering are not his will for us. If rejection and sorrow was God’s best for his children, why was Jesus despised and rejected by men, acquainted with sorrow and grief. Isaiah 53: 3-4. That means that God does not want us to be despised, rejected or suffer, whoever has come under the bone crushing weight of the devil tonight I decree you will be set free in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Your full colours will emerge in the name of Jesus Christ. I make bold to declare to you today that every plan of hell to discolour your life will come to an end in the name of Jesus Christ.
WHAT IS ENJOYING COLOURFUL CHRISTIANITY?
Enjoying colourful Christianity is living an admirable life through the provisions of scripture. A life that will attract people, a life that people admire because of what you have found in scripture, it is manifesting or revealing the reality of redemption based on the finished works of Christ. It is utilising the front and the back of the cross of Christ. ChurchGist. Many Christians only look at the front of the cross of Christ. So, they are saved, they come out for altar calls but all the provision and all the benefits of salvation that the front of Christ has procured at the back, many people will not partake of it. It’s a holistic cross not a fragmental cross. Salvation of the soul, spirit and of the body.
Many are only interested in the salvation of the spirit but not in the salvation of their soul and their body. It was a holistic purchase not a fragmented purchase. ChurchGist. Many are born again but they are still sick, many are born again but they are still failing, many of them are born again but they are still poor, because they are looking at the front of the cross without also looking at the back of the cross. Some are only looking at the back of the cross, they are only interested in what Jesus is going to give to them and they are not interested in doing anything for him, they are only considering the back of the cross, whereas some are considering the front and the back of the cross. May you fall into the category of those who are considering the front and the back of the cross in the mighty name of Jesus. That is the only way to enjoy Christianity.
Christianity is meant to be enjoyed not endured. 1st Timothy 5:17. He has given us all things to freely enjoy. You will enjoy your Christian life in the mighty name of Jesus. ChurchGist. All colourful things are usually concealed on the earth, Nigeria is blessed with oil, the oil is not found on the street. Nigeria is blessed with gold; it is not found on the street. Countries that are blessed with diamonds you don’t find them on the street. They are concealed, several thousands of metres down the earth. ChurchGist. It is the glory of God to conceal a thing. Proverbs 25:2. The glory of God is to conceal a thing, no matter how beautiful a baby is, the child must first be concealed in the womb until the day of revelation of that child. Luke 1:80. God’s own is to conceal the treasure, yours is to search out the treasure. No treasure is found on the surface. Yes! Southern barn eagles (the one on the American coat of arms) go as far as 10,000 metres above the mid sea level, but that eagle starts from an egg that is concealed. Until the egg is cracked open the full lens of the eagle will not emerge.
Now, the truth is this, God has placed treasures in you and has placed treasures around you but you have the responsibility to discover those treasures. Yes! If you don’t accept responsibility, God forbid the person will die of disability. ChurchGist. Everybody must accept the responsibility to open the book. Say with me: the book. The crying will continue until the Book is opened; the crying will not cease. This Book must be opened if the crying must stop. There is no one found worthy to open the Book, nor to look at the seven seals thereof. Revelation 5. Weep not for the lion of the tribe of Judah has prevailed to open the book and to lose the seven seals thereof.
So, until the Book is opened the weeping will not cease. If you want to enjoy your Christian life you must take time, dedicatedly to open this Book, whether you want it or not, that is the only way to enjoy your Christian living. ChurchGist. To know your rights in Nigeria, you must know the provisions of the constitution and know when your rights are violated and know also how to enforce those rights or else you will not enjoy your citizenship in this country, true or false? Any Nation where you must know the laws of the country where you belong, or else you will not enjoy your stay in that country because those laws, those rights that you have are in the laws that will be violated once and again. Everything the laws will be violated; you will enforce your authority and your right and then you will get what you deserve. Praise God! I pray that God will give you understanding in the name of Jesus.
BIBLICAL TOOLS FOR ENJOYING A COLOURFUL CHRISTIANITY
1) THE TOOL OF GOD’S WORD
The beauty of the material world came by the release of God’s Word. Genesis 1:1-3. There was no light until God said let there be light, until God’s Word came light did not appear, until God’s Word came voidness was on the face of the deep. Until God’s Word came darkness was still on the face of the deep. ChurchGist. For darkness to leave, God’s Word has to come. For the glory of God to emerge, he has to bring his Word to bring that glory to pass. The Word was made flesh and dwells among us and we beheld the glory of that Word. John 1:14. You cannot experience glory in your life, you cannot experience colourful living in your life until God’s Word comes to you in any area of your life. Papa said: Poverty stirred him in the face, it was true. He saw it, but he didn’t want to continue in poverty. You see, people who look for sympathy will do them no good. There is no point sympathizing with a man in the pit because you can’t bring him out.
Many of us look for sympathy, sympathy is not the way out of any challenge, no challenges can be solved with the sympathy of people. Because you can’t sympathise with a man in the pit, he will remain there in the pit, in fact he will be more pitiable, he won’t come out of the pit. That’s why if you see a poor man, by the time you sympathise with a poor man, you can’t help him, you have to tell the poor man the truth. You have to give the poor man the truth of God’s Word, until he implements it, your pity for him won’t bring him out of poverty. ChurchGist. You can’t pity a poor man to be rich. You have to tell the poor man the truth to be rich.
He has to apply the truth to be rich. So, he has to discover the truth behind money and finance. He deliberately went on a 7 days search, consciously in the Book and then he found it and till today the reward is showing. Proverbs 24: 13. any area you have challenges you have to find it from the Bible, there is no shortcut to it, the only shortcut is that there is no shortcut. ChurchGist. God is not interested if you didn’t go to school. No! There is a Bible on tapes, I don’t know how to read or write, that is not God’s business, God didn’t make you illiterate in the first place. Did he? I don’t like to read and write; I don’t like reading.
I don’t like studying my Bible, I think it’s for the pastors. Pastors are not the only ones that have challenges. I think what they are talking about is for a certain class of people, I am just a junior Christian, No! Whether you’re a junior Christian or you’re an intermediate Christian or you’re a senior christian, a Christian is a Christian and a Christian must search if he/she wants to enjoy a colourful life, you must go for the truth of this word.
The other day when Papa was talking about Yahoo boys and when he came out on Sunday, when he said it, I know that this man has contacted light, listen to me if you don’t about Onions you can’t enjoy your suya (Grilled meat), when he said it, I was vibrating where I was, Papa said if you’re a Yahoo boy or you’re Yahoo anything get out of this Church, this Church will still be rich, Geezzz. If you don’t know the Word in that area you can’t talk like that. Those boys have money, you will think first, they have useless money, you will have to think first. If I say this thing, if these boys leave the Church are you sure the Church finances will not drop. ChurchGist. I am telling you the truth. He shows this man has contacted light in that area. You know that when you’re drunk you misbehave, have you seen a drunkard, they don’t behave well, if they say behave well you’re a chairman, they will say chair what, you father chair, your mother chair, I am not a chairman.
He’s intoxicated with alcohol. John 6:63. When the Word of God enters you; you misbehave. One day I was coming from Ngvuogba to Church, then I was living at Ngvuogba in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. I overtook a man very close to Serah House, as I overtook the man water splashed on him, I slowed down and I was trying to wave at him to apologise to him because I was rushing to come to Church and all of a sudden this Taxi driver double crossed me in front of Serah House and stopped me, I applied my break, the next thing he brought out a charm from his pocket and put it on his tongue and hit my bonnet and he said I will not get to where I am going, I hissed. ChurchGist. I said if this charm has power to kill somebody, you that out it on your tongue first, you’re the one that will first die, what nonsense, I didn’t talk to God once, I entered my car and told him to get out of my way before I crush you to death now, get out and I drove off. I didn’t pray one single prayer, it was not necessary, a curse causeless shall not come. Proverbs 26:2. It’s not a problem.
I didn’t pray a single prayer about it, that’s nonsense why am I disturbing God, that is disturbing God. Somebody carries a charm and touches his mouth and hits your bonnet, the charm has no power to kill or else it would have killed him first because he was the one that tasted it. ChurchGist. Imagine the crap.
Listen, you must, you don’t have a choice, every one of us must go for the word, you must buy books, you must get tapes, anything that is challenging and confronting you; you have prayed and it refuses to go, they have laid hands on you and it has refused to go. God is telling you that the light you have in that area is too small, you need to improve on it. I tell you the truth. If I bring a candle light and I put it in a house where there is thick darkness and the power generating company sized electricity and then you bring the candle light, you will discover that certain places will be lighted and certain places will remain dark.
Have you seen something like that? Yes, that light is not enough to cover the entire house. The light is small and then when you turn on the bulb light too, it will still be somehow but when you turn on a Halogen light, that is another level. ChurchGist. Maybe what God demands from you is halogen light and you have candle light, you need to improve on your light by going for more knowledge, stop feeding on milk when God wants you to eat strong meat. Stop feeding on milk, milk can’t do the Job, if you keep drinking milk, you will become a vegetable, when breeze blows you; you will fall, you need strong meat and strong food.
Every one of us, we need to improve on our Word diet to move to the next level. Many of us feed our body with three hot meals and feed our spirit with one cold snack. We fed our body with three hot meals, morning, afternoon and evening but we read only half a chapter of the Bible. Some people have not finished reading the book of Philemon till now. Some people have not finished Obadiah till now, Obadiah is one chapter and Philemon is also one chapter, yet some people are still struggling to finish it till now. ChurchGist. Yet they know everything, these same people; you will ask them what is the name of all the actors in all the movies they will tell you all the actors one after the other, they will tell you everything, even the ones that are going for auditioning, they will tell you their names.
But if you ask them what is the name of the seven deacons, they will answer that they are not trained for that. There are many Christians now that read many things, if you ask them what is the name of the seven deacons they will tell you, I have not heard that before o. What are Deacons again? Is it in the Bible, if you ask them what is the name of all the footballers in premier league? They know it. La Liga? They know. Serie A? They know. ChurchGist. Everything they know, they know everything including the one in Nigeria that has no Liga, they know everything. But if you ask them what is the name of the Apostles, name the 12 of them. Sir! Do you want to kill me? I am not good at that; you see you need to reorder your life.
We need to reorder our lives, no colourful Christianity without the Word, please take note, no colourful Christianity without the Word, in every department of your life, you must go for the word, in every department, go to the bookstore, go to the knowledge centre, tell them to give you books and tapes, just buy on any subject, you will need it someday, just day, any subject, particularly the one that is challenging you now, go for it. If health is challenging you, go for it, if business is not working, go for business materials, tell them to give you the tapes and books, if academics is a challenge to you, go for materials on wisdom. ChurchGist. Go for it, stop deceiving yourself that everything is alright when it’s not alright, there are certain things you read when preparing for an exam that you know that when the exam comes you will fall in the true sense of it.
You know yourself, what you need to do is that, before the exam actually comes you have to pick yourself up and start reading fast to cover up the lost ground. Am I talking to somebody, every one of us must understand, don’t deceive yourself, they are certain things you know. ChurchGist. I was saying something the other day and somebody thought I was joking. If you have a challenge with stealing, I have come to discover that all Christians today that dives into stealing, it’s a big challenge for them to repent, a big one.
People that went into starling as believers not unbelievers that started stealing, whether Yahoo or anything, it is difficult if you don’t encounter the Word to be free, I tell you the truth, it is difficult. ChurchGist. Let them pray for you from now till tomorrow, cast out all the evil spirits, you will steal the more, are you not surprised why Judas didn’t change. You’re not surprised, he was eating the Communion yet he was still a thief, he was eating the Communion with Jesus Christ in the same plate, that was enough to change him, every habit that you have that you want a change, go for the Word, in any area.
Any habit that you want transformation go for the Word. Just go for the Word, buy materials and books in that area, go for the Word. If you’re given to heavy laziness, go for the Word, tell them to give you tapes where Papa taught us on work, he has taught in works severally in this Church. Go for the Word, there are people that are lazy, maLAZYians, go for the Word. Very lazy people, you’ll tell them won’t you work, even if you get them the job yourself, they will start telling you stories Sir, it is well o, they told me that I have one thing in my body that if I do this work, it will be somehow. ChurchGist. I know a man who the wife has been feeding for years. If you get him a job, he will give you one excuse or the other. If I am his wife, I will not give him anything again.
If he asks me where his food is, I will serve him water, drink it. How can you be there, your wife is feeding you, you have a mental problem? Who is supposed to feed who? If your sister is the one that the husband is treating like that, will you like it? Women came to eat, if you don’t know. You won’t blame them, the man has been designed as the home Jireh to provide food for them to eat, that is how God made it, don’t blame them. ChurchGist. That is why no matter how much a woman earns she will still open her hand and ask for money. That’s the way she was designed. How can you sit down and a woman will be feeding you?
If you have a business problem, you’ll go and tell them in the bookstore to give you all the tapes on diligence and hard work and you sit down and refresh your soul. ChurchGist. It’s a problem, a lazy man is not entitled to food. 2nd Thessalonians 3:10. Do you hear that and please be careful, don’t marry a lazy person, male or female. If you like hear me, if you marry a lazy person, you’ll die before your time. God forbid, you will not die in Jesus’ name. Lazy man, God forbid. You’re laughing, you don’t know what it means to be lazy, how can somebody be lazy and when they give you money, you will look at the money and complain that what is this. I will collect it from you and drive you away. *Whatever you don’t know how to earn, you won’t know how to spend it. ChurchGist. That is why you see people complaining that how much are you giving to me, a whole me. You are half, you’re not whole, you’re not working. If you’re angry now, many of you who are young boys now are not doing anything in Church, the day the Word enters you.
Did you hear one of the testimonies of one of our Pastors, he came here as a graduate, he was carrying cement, before he came to Salvation Ministries and became Papa’s PA, he was carrying cement as a graduate, stop clamouring your certificate too much, is your certificate food? If you boil it, will it turn to food? Try it when you go home, put it inside the pot and boil it and check. Certificate for what, young man sit up, young woman sit up, your mothers tried in sending you to school, now repay all her labour, your father has tried in sending you to school, repay all their labour. ChurchGist. Stop sitting in the house and folding your hands and legs doing nothing, and asking her mummy what did you bring from the market. If I am your mother I will tell you, I brought a cane to flog you for being an embarrassing child. All of you that are not working, you’ll go and work by fire.
2) YOU MUST USE YOUR GOD GIVEN AUTHORITY TO ENFORCE YOUR RIGHT.
Luke 8:22-24. Jesus Christ wanted to go on a voyage, the Bible says while he was going, he fell asleep and then a storm came, you know storms are always coming when you’re sleeping. While men slept, the enemy came. ChurchGist. When the Word of God is sleeping inside you, the enemy will be invited. While the Word was sleeping the enemy came but he stood up and rebuked the wind. Listen, the wind won’t respect you because you’re a Christian, it will respect you because you use your authority, no storm of life will respect you, no wind will respect you because you’re a Christian, it will respect you because you use your authority. Luke 8:25. With authority he commanded the water and the wind and they obeyed him. Listen, you don’t like the way things are going, go to your concordance, you don’t like the way your health is going, go to your concordance and look at all the scripture that has to do with healing and health. Write them and meditate over them, pray over them, talk to yourself until you get the desired result. Use your authority, tell the devil he has no right to kill you untimely because it won’t make news for you to go to heaven early.
That is why Jesus died at 33.5 years, he lived a short love so that you can live a long life. It was a perfect substitutionary work. ChurchGist. Why should they flog him and also flog you, why should you die early, he was made sickness for us so that we should be healed, how can he be sick and you’ll become sick again. You will enforce your authority. Satan, you have no right to put this on me, because God’s Word does not say so.
Am I talking to us, yes! In every department of your life, you don’t like the trajectory of your life, the trajectory of the life of your children you will tell God what you want even when the devil want to twist the destiny of your children, you will tell him no sir, the seed of the righteous shall be mighty upon the earth, no sir, you don’t have right, you will pray it with the God’s Word until it comes to pass and the way you want it, you will stand on the scripture and pray it until the way you want it comes to pass. The church is not growing, this is not the agenda of God, no reason to explain failure away, if the Church is not growing it’s the devil. ChurchGist. I will build my Church and the gate of hell shall not prevail against it, if the gate of hell is prevailing, then there is something wrong somewhere, you will pray it until it comes to pass, whether there are two people coming or three people coming it doesn’t matter, you will pray it until you see multitude that start flowing in.
Every Christian will be challenged, it’s normal, there is nothing abnormal about challenge, every Christian will be challenged, there is no temptation taken you that is not common to man. It’s a common temptation, every Christian will be challenged, the Word of God will be questioned in your life. ChurchGist. They will question the Word of God. You will tell the devil what God said truly and you will stand by what God has said, let God be true and let every other person including you, the father of all lies, be a liar. God punish you, punish your grandfather, your grandmother, you the devil. God has said it, let him be true and every other person be a liar. Am I talking to us and God will give you understanding in Jesus mighty name?
3) STUFF YOUR MIND WITH LIFE TRANSFORMING AND LIFE RENEWING SCRIPTURES.
The battle field in our Christian faith is in our mind, that is where the devil comes to challenge you, he took Jesus up, he took him to the pinnacle if the temple and he told him cast yourself down, he told him to turn stones into bread, showed him all the glory of the earth in a moment of time, all those things were done in his mind and he said it’s written, the Word was stuffed in his mind, when the challenge is coming you won’t see the Bible to read, at times it will come to you when you don’t have the Bible, but when the Word is stuffed in your mind, that Word is what will lift up a standard against the devil. ChurchGist. When the enemy comes like water, the spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against them, the Words I speak to you are spirit.
Anytime you come face to face with a challenge ask God to give you a Word in your spirit. Ask God to stuff his Word in your mind, when your mind is word short, there is nothing you will pray about that will work, if I bring a balloon and pierce it with a little pin, if I blow air into it, it will become big after sometimes it will shrink back to normal, you know the reason, the perforation is releasing air out of it, that how is it. Once the word of God is not in your mind, no matter how they pray for you and talk to you; you will have confidence for a while, if you don’t have the Word of God inside you, after a while the challenge will come and the Word they have spoken to you will no longer be there, because you have not discovered your personal Word, that why you see somebody that you casted out demon from today they will have faith, tomorrow it will move out and he begins to fail, because the mind has been perforated. ChurchGist. The devil uses something, he will tell you, if it’s true that God has healed you, can’t you see; now that your eye is still yellow, look at the mirror, you go to the mirror and you look and you ask everybody in your house, is my eye still yellow.
At that point he has caused a perforation in your mind. ChurchGist. May he not gain access to your kind in Jesus mighty name. Every one of us must be careful in this regard, be careful what goes on in your mind, be careful, stuff God’s Word in your mind, in every area of your life stuff God’s Word in your mind. The devil will come to knock and when he comes to knock it’s only the word of God that will lift up a standard against him and I pray that God will give you understanding in Jesus’ name.
4) LET THE WORD OF GOD RULE YOUR ATTITUDE TOWARDS GOD AND PEOPLE.
A man that is worded will understand that his attitude towards God is very important, your attitude towards God and people is very important. What you do to people is what you’re doing to God, that is why Jesus said because you didn’t do it to any of these people, you have not done it to me. They said when did we see you naked and we didn’t give you cloth, he said you have done it to these ones then you have done it to me. ChurchGist. He lendeth to the poor giveth to his maker. So, the attitude we use for men determines the attitude we use for God, that is why stingy people will go to hell fire, I didn’t say so, the Bible said so. Stingy people will go to hell fire. Matthew 25:36. Jesus said I was naked you didn’t give me cloth, I was thirsty you didn’t give me drink, he said go to this side, if you’re a stingy man God will help you. It’s not a prophecy.
