WHEN I TURNED 70, MY CHILDREN PURCHASED CARS FOR ME.
-Bishop David Oyedepo
During the Wrap up Session of the Third Service at Encounter With Destiny Service, Bishop David Oyedepo rebuked young boys who sag their trousers and encouraged them to be of responsible behaviour.
He said: “I sowed a seed to my grandmother with whom I grew. She said: “You did this for me?” I said: “Yes Mum.” “You will be great!” I was 20 years old. Today’s boys, you put your trousers below your buttock; you are playing away your destiny. When I turned 70, my own children bought me new cars. Don’t keep your children in a cupboard. No eagles emerge in the nest, eagles emerge in the skies. My son was sharing that he was a janitor. Church Gist. I did labour work as a year 3 student in secondary school. I earned my first wages then. I’ve been working like this since the Ministry began and the Work is being blessed. Please wake up! Wake up!! The Lord told me: “Do something.” I did. He said: “My son, if you don’t want to be rich, it’s too late.” 1987. He told me privately, I did it privately and He swore on me privately and you know my own case, I announced it publicly. There is nothing to read in my biography, I’ve been telling the story since the beginning. So it’s not… and it’s the same not that it’s edited. It’s the same, truth does not change. Somebody’s story is changing!”
