WHEN GOD SAYS, “LET US MAKE MAN IN OUR OWN IMAGE,” THAT MEANS GOD IS CREATING YOU TO SHINE
YOU SHOULD NOT THINK OF BEING A MEDIOCRE; WHEN YOU ARE A MEDIOCRE YOUR LIFE CANNOT BE A MESSAGE TO GENERATIONS
WHEN YOU BEGIN TO SHINE FORTH PEOPLE WILL WONDER WHAT IS HAPPENING
WHEN GOD’S GLORY IS UPON YOU, DARKNESS MUST GET OUT. POWER PASS POWER!
YOU MUST BE INTENTIONAL ABOUT KNOWING THAT AREA OF LIFE YOU WILL SHINE
YOU ARE CROWNED, GIVEN THE AUTHORITY AND DOMINION TO SHINE IN LIGHT. IF YOU ARE NOT SHINING IT IS AN ERROR
THE IMPLICATION OF YOUR SHINING FORTH IS THAT WHEREVER YOU ARE, YOU DISTINCTLY STAND OUT
YOU STAND OUT IN LIFE WHEN YOU LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE SO THAT PEOPLE MAY SEE YOUR GOOD WORKS
YOUR GOOD WORKS ARE SEEN IN YOUR CHARACTER, COMPETENCE, CAPACITY, COURAGE TO STEP FORTH AND DO SOMETHING UNIQUE AND OUTSTANDING

DAY 2 Morning (Plenary Session 2)
While praying concerning this meeting, one thing the Lord made me realize is that for our Father in the Lord to give us the theme, Shine Forth, in an International Youth Convention is because it’s time for someone to shine on an intercontinental level.
- By the power of God’s Word, every force that hinders you from shining shall be destroyed by fire in the name of Jesus!
When the Word of God says, “Arise, shine…” that means once you are shining, it means it’s time for you to arise.
🎶 Glorious God, Beautiful King, Excellent God, I bow before your throne.🎶
Father we bow before you the true light, the King of Glory. We bow before you, indeed you are the Almighty. Church Gist. And Lord we ask that even as we continue in this convention, that as many that are hearing my voice, by your grace and mercy, every stronghold of darkness shall give way to light in the name of Jesus.
I want us to shout a loud, “We love you Daddy G. O. We love you Mummy G. O.” I would like to thank them for this glorious opportunity for the youths to gather from various parts of Nigeria and various parts of the world. Church Gist. I believe by His grace and Mercy, by Friday and Saturday, everyone listening to me shall sing a new song in the name of Jesus.
Isaiah 60:1. “For THY light…” not another person’s light but THY light. Tell your neighbour, “It’s time for you to shine.” The Bible says, “Darkness may cover the Earth …” but somebody here your case is different. In your business you shall shine; in your studies, intellectually, favour, somebody is about to move in another dimension of shining. Church Gist. “When is your time to shine?” you should shine forth means you are not staying in one place. You are moving forward.
Let’s understand certain things: God has created you to shine. When the Word of God says, “Let us make man in our own image…” Genesis 1:26, already we know that God is the true light – John 1:9, so when he says let us make man in our own image that means God is creating you to be shine. Church Gist. The image of God is light and the Bible tells us that that true light lighteth up every man.
- Put your right hand on your head and say, “My Father, My Father, I receive the light of God in every segment of my life. I am created to shine, I will shine.” Make that declaration.
Matthew 5:14. In your family, school, office, wherever you stand, you are the light!
And so when you find yourselves, not even illuminated, not illuminating our environment, it is an error! When light is in an environment, is light noticed? Do people notice light? Do people celebrate light? Do people acknowledge light? Church Gist. There is someone that is about to be celebrated here. I don’t know who you are but your Amen will show that you are that person.
You are the light of the world, you are created to illuminate your world and that’s why wherever you are in every situation, it may not be a pleasant situation. For instance Joseph was in prison but he determined that he would illuminate wherever he was. Joseph had a dream, a great dream, but he found himself as a slave, but in spite of this, whoever you are cannot hinder what the enemy wants to subdue in you. Joseph determined that because he was created to shine, he must shine even in Potiphar’s house. Church Gist. I speak forth over your life by the power of God’s word that because you are created to shine, every force hindering you from shining will be destroyed by fire in the name of Jesus!
It is an error if you are not shining, your life is not an error because you are created to shine, and you must shine. You must have that understanding because without such understanding, you cannot be outstanding in life. Church Gist. You must understand that despite each challenge you face, it is an opportunity for you to get higher in life.
Without darkness, light cannot be celebrated, so when God allows darkness to come your way, know that celebration is about to happen in your life. There is someone listening to me, you may be experiencing some dark situations, but because you are in this programme, I decree over your life that your lifting and celebration has come in the name of Jesus!
You are not just created to shine but the Lord calls you, and commands you to shine as a child of God, Matthew 5:16. If there is a 500 KVA generator that has a turbine, light is seen all over because there is a connection with a turbine, this is applicable when you are connected to the True Light. You must shine!
God has called you to Glory, He has called you to shine so that whenever your name is mentioned, it is to shine forth. Church Gist. The Lord shall overturn every evil against you and those that called your name for evil, it shall turn around for your good in the name of Jesus!
It is an insult to the gifting of God in your life, if you are not shining 2 Peter one verse 3. Your life will not be an error! Church Gist. You are called to bring celebration to God and every stronghold trying to bring you down, may they be hindered by fire in the name of Jesus Christ!
Let me ask: When is your time to shine? Now! In which area of life will you shine? Someone shall shine in business, Science and Technology, history, intellectual capacity. Church Gist. You shall shine in Africa, Europe, America, Australia and wherever you stand in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
When God is glorified, He is celebrated and when God’s Glory is also upon your life, you are celebrated. God’s Glory shall prevail over your life in the name of Jesus Christ. The Lord has crowned you with His Glory, the crown is a sign of dominion, rulership and authority. Church Gist. I want you to know that God has given you the authority to shine wherever you find yourself. Hebrew 2:7.
The crown and light that is meant for you to shine is upon your head, there is a Glory and light wherever you stand, you begin to operate with the understanding that you are the head and not the tail, you are above only. The Scripture tells us that when God created man in His image, He commanded them to have dominion, you cannot be created in the image of God and not exercise dominion. Church Gist. Light has dominion over darkness. It is an error for any manifestation of darkness to think that they have the audacity to have authority over your life.
I declare that the God of Pastor E.A Adeboye, the God that has brought a lifting upon our father, shall bring a lifting upon your life in Jesus’ name, you shall begin to exercise dominion with your gifting and skills in the name of Jesus, Amen.
People may not understand how it happened but they don’t need to understand. Light shineth in darkness and darkness comprehended it not. When you begin to shine forth, when you are preferred above others, when your promotion comes faster than others, when your business is illuminated above others, when you are celebrated above others, they shall wonder what is happening. Church Gist. You are shining forth! When is your time? (Now). You are created, called to shine. You are crowned, given the authority and dominion to shine in light. If you are not shining it is an error.
- That error shall be corrected in this convention!
What is the implication of your shining forth?
- Wherever you are, you distinctly stand out: Isaiah 8:18. Church Gist. Beloved, when you are a wonder, people look at the works of your hand and they shout, “wow.”
- Somebody here is about to become a wonder to their generation!
You should not think of being a mediocre; when you are a mediocre in life your life cannot be a message to generations. Your life must be a glorious message. Church Gist. That happens when the light of God is manifested upon your life. - Wherever you go to in life, I decree, by His grace and mercy, the grace for you to distinctly stand out, receive in the name of Jesus.
The Word of God says let your light so shine that people may see; they must see something in you for you to be celebrated. Ask your neighbour, “What is your neighbour seeing in you? Church Gist. What are your friends seeing in you?” If your life does not give light, your life is an error because you are the light of the world.
If a bulb is connected to generator and that bulb is not giving light you say that bulb has a fault abi? (right?) Do you know many lives have faults? Church Gist. So they are not shining. You are wondering, “Why am I not shining in life?” there’s a fault; that fault shall be remedied in the name of Jesus.
You may ask, “How can I stand out?” The Word of God makes it clear, “Let your light so shine that people may see your good works.” What are the works you are doing that is enabling you to shine in life? Church Gist. When they mention your name, what is the work that you are known for that enables you to shine in life? Is it in sports, ministry, government, business, which good work are you doing? Hebrews 10:24. Say, “Neighbour we must shine.” When are you going to shine? (Now).
Too often, people want to shine in life but they don’t know the area of life they are going to shine. You must be intentional about knowing that area of life you will shine.
What are the good works?
Titus 2:14. Your good works are seen in your character, competence, capacity, courage to step forth and do something unique and outstanding. Church Gist. What is in life, My Beloved Youths, you are doing that you shall be known for to shine in life? I looked at David; David was a teenager and as a young person, he determined to develop skills in music. When there was a problem…
- That problem that will bring you to lime light, the Lord will allow to exist in the lives of others so that you shall be summoned for good in the name of Jesus.
Saul had a problem and they were looking for someone that had the skill, the competence, someone that was standing out in life. Church Gist. A servant said in 1 Samuel 16:17-18, David was called to the palace because of his skills.
- I decree by the power of God’s word, by reason of your skills and talents, you shall be celebrated in the name of Jesus!
- By reason of excellence in character, competence, capacity, I decree you will be lifted above others in the name of Jesus.
- Every fault in your life that hinders you from shining, by His grace, the creator of all flesh shall repel that force in the name of Jesus
IYC2022! I will always ask, “When is your time to shine?” (Now). Let there be a shout!
- Darkness is subdued: Isaiah 60:2. There may be darkness in finances, environment, economy, community, but let someone shout, “My case is different.” Say, “The Lord shall arise upon me and His glory shall be seen in me.” When God’s glory is upon you, darkness must get out. Power pass power! Beloved, the Word of God says the way of the wicked is as darkness but the path of the just is as a shining light. What do you mean by darkness? Ignorance is darkness. Daniel was celebrated, light and understanding were upon his life Daniel 5:12-14. Church Gist. Place your right hand upon your head and say: “My father, my father, every stronghold of ignorance prevailing over my life, I reject in the name of Jesus! I receive wisdom, knowledge and understanding, in the name of Jesus”!
Brethren, darkness is made manifest in ignorance causing evil deeds to prevail against you. Let me quickly mention that whatever form of evil and stronghold that has prevailed against you, they are destroyed now in the name of Jesus! Church Gist. Darkness is subdued, ignorance is uprooted, evil is nullified and lack of vision gives way to full vision. Any form of evil that had access to your life in the past, because you are in this program, that darkness is giving room in the name of Jesus!
One thing is clear that when God’s Light prevails, deliverance is secured Isaiah 10:17. Saul went out to cause havoc, but by the time he encountered The Light, there was deliverance in his life. Church Gist.
Prayer: My Father, my Father, through the course of this convention, let my deliverance be perfected in the name of Jesus, and let the fire of God destroy every evil in my life!
I will end this with two quick testimonies. After the Holy Ghost Service in Port-Harcourt, I was told of a young man in the hospital with all kinds of tubes and an enlarged stomach. I spoke with the doctor and realized that his kidneys had failed. The doctor couldn’t handle his case as he was transferred from one hospital to another. On getting to see him again the next day, his wife asked if I would allow her husband to die as she could not take care of their 7 children alone. Church Gist. At that point in time, I had compassion on him, picked up an anointed handkerchief, placed it upon his head and called upon the God of Pastor E.A Adeboye and cursed kidney failure and put an end to dialysis. Two weeks later, the man came to see me and confirmed that the God of Pastor E.A Adeboye has caused dialysis to come to an end. To the amazement of the doctors, the man who was declared dead, returned with a brand new healthy kidney. Church Gist. I declare over your life that because you are in this program, your deliverance has been secured in the name of Jesus!
Let me quickly mention that when we talk of shining forth, there are only a group of people that can shine forth Proverb 4:18-19. The just and righteous man shines forth more and more.
I will tell you another testimony of a young talented boy, gifted in leading praise and worship in the church. On a particular day, he decides to leave the church to play drums in nightclub houses and secular environment, the Holy Spirit instructed me to tell the boy to return to Him, I appealed to the boy to return to the Lord but he refused the call of God and decided to do it his own way, giving so much excuses at that time. Church Gist. Three weeks later, the boy capsized in a boat and he died floating on the surface of the river with his fingers in his mouth which shows that he regretted his actions.
The path of the sinful is as darkness, they don’t know it, causing them to stumble in life. God has brought you to this convention because He wants your path to shine brighter and brighter. God is saying as He told me while I was preparing for this convention: Enough of the compromise! It is your time to shine forth!
Prayer: My Father, my Father, every compromise in my life, academics, ministry, business hindering me from shining, I reject it in the name of Jesus! My life shall not be a calamity! Have mercy upon me in any area of my life that I have introduced compromise in Jesus’ name, Amen! Church Gist.
Any chain hindering my salvation and deliverance, let it be destroyed by Fire in Jesus’ name, Amen!
