Forever He is on the throne, He is worthy to be glorified, worthy to be exalted. Blessed be God forever in Jesus most wonderful name.
This month has been declared as our month of “SUPERNATURAL LIVING.” We will be looking at, ‘OPERATING IN THE SUPERNATURAL (Part One).’
Operating in the supernatural is simply functioning beyond the natural to command amazing results in life. Hear this and hear me well: mind your spiritual growth; it determines your growth in life. Church Gist. Nothing refreshes and energizes like the truth. When you have encounter with the truth, you triumph without sweat.
- I see you triumph in the name of Jesus.
Hear this: life is not meant for ups and downs. Life is only meant for up up up. Proverbs 4:18. Church Gist. All you need to do is to have understanding of God’s Word. Psalm 82:5.
- All these ups and downs struggling to succeed will end after this moment.
In Matthew 13:23, understanding is in degrees. Some people’s understanding is at 30 degrees and you don’t pass your exam with 30 degrees. Is that true? Yes you have understanding but your understanding is not enough. Church Gist. If you have understanding at 60 degrees, you will have results at 60 degrees. But if you are privileged to have understanding at 100 degrees then why do I go for 60? So you have to shift from where you are to where you ought to be.
Everybody in exam writes; even those who fail, they write. Some even ask for more papers than others. Church Gist. Yet, nobody will mark you and give you distinction when you don’t have facts. Yes, you may write but do you understand what you wrote.
When the Ethiopian Eunuch was busy reading as an educated man and then Philip asked him, “understandeth what thou readest?” (Acts 8:30). Many do things in the body of Christ but they lack understanding; so, no results.
With understanding you can triumph over the issues of life. Your results in life will be determined by your depth of understanding. Better understanding, better results; poor understanding, poor results. Church Gist. Hear this and hear me well: I am not talking about quoting Scriptures, but understanding Scriptures. You can quote Scriptures and not understand Scriptures.
- I pray for God to quicken your understanding in the name of Jesus Christ!
So, with understanding, you can operate and command the supernatural and get supernatural results.
TO OPERATE IN THE SUPERNATURAL YOU NEED THE FOLLOWING:
1) Understanding of your supernatural roots: if you want to see any tree, the root determines how the tree will grow. Is that true? 2 Corinthians 5:17. Man was originally made in the image of God, (Genesis 1:26) – perfect creature of God. Church Gist. But that perfect creature was corrupted by sin and man lost it to the devil. But God had to recreate or regenerate man by restoring man back to his original state. So the redeemed man (born again man) is an exact expression of the image of God and that’s what you are. If you are born again today, you are the exact expression of God’s image. The fallen man is no longer you; you are now redeemed to be like God because it says you are a new creature. He is no longer like the first Adam. God recreated you in His own image. Church Gist. So, there is a transplant of life at new birth where the dead human life is replaced with everlasting or eternal life which is God-kind of life.
So when you are born again, you are no longer the same person you used to be. You now have everlasting life. John 3:16. Not up to 5 per cent of people who know this Scripture understand it. That is, anybody who has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour cannot perish but have (not ‘will have’). Church Gist. So you already have everlasting life if you are born again. Everlasting life is God’s life because God’s life has no term. So He took His life and put inside you. But during COVID, almost all the Church was afraid. True?
Born again is not religious emblem. When you are born again, the life that God has He gave it to you so, what life is in you is the very life that God has. So, whatever can’t happen to God can’t happen to you and I. Church Gist. You don’t have human life; you have God-kind of life. Which life do you have now? (Everlasting life). Who has everlasting life? (God). If you are sure, then why are you panicking? That Scripture was enough for any believer not to panic of any disease whether air borne or water borne disease – any kind of borne disease.
John 1:12. When Jesus was here, He said if you have seen me, you have seen the Father. True? Jesus had nose, eyes, yet He was the only son then. You remember? Because He was the only one who was born of God as at that time. Church Gist. But not now – you can’t say Jesus Christ is the only son of God; it’s not now, that was before. Those kind of songs are not scriptural (singing: Jesus Christ na the only son of God oo ewo!). Jesus can never be the only son of God; we are all sons of God. He WAS the only son but not the only son of God now.
Now listen: He said if you have seen me, you have seen the Father. John 14:9. Did He say so while on Earth? Why did He say so when He had eyes, nose? He was the only one that had everlasting life as at that time. Church Gist. So He said, “look, if you are looking at me, you are looking at God. Because the life I have is the life that is in Him.” Yet He was moving about eating food; true?
Now, when you accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, whatever Jesus was then is exactly who you are now. So you too, if they see you, they see God. Say I hear! So you don’t have an ordinary life; you have the very life of God. Church Gist. That will make you operate in the supernatural. So once you receive Christ into your life, God-kind of life begins to work in you. The life you now have is the very life that is in God and that is what is called Zoe. So, God’s abilities become inherent in your being. Whatever is in God is now in you. Anything God can do, you can do. Philippians 4:13.
That’s why you should be getting results like God. Your uniqueness and peculiarity should reveal that you’re a citizen in Heaven and therefore, humilities and privileges of the Kingdom you represent should be operational in your life without sweat. Church Gist. All you and I need to do is to accept responsibility to provoke and produce miracles after our kind – that is, God.
Now that we know our roots, what is our task? What do we do to make the provision of eternal life a reality in our individual lives. Have you ever sat like this and you say, “what can a man does?” Have you ever spoken that kind of English? Don’t speak it again. You are not a man; you are God. Have you ever said, “ordinary human being like me what will I do?” You are not an ordinary human being; permit me, you are God being. Church Gist. If you have the mentality of an ordinary human being you will suffer what ordinary people suffer. Stop using that word, “ordinary human being like me.” Jesus never compared Himself with ordinary people because He was not operating in the natural. Many of us don’t have understanding of our roots; and if you don’t have understanding of your roots, you can’t bear fruits.
2) Lay hold on the Word: John 10:35 – what Jesus means to say in this sentence is that, “anyone who has the Word of God is a God.” Get the Word and you are in charge in that area. Get hold of the Word and you will be a sign and a wonder to your world. Church Gist. You will lord over circumstances and be a god over situations. In other words, when you have God’s word on any issue, it makes you a god in that area because you take absolute charge by reason of insight.
With all humility, I am a god over poverty. I dominate over poverty. There’s nothing in this world, no economy can make me poor. I rule over poverty by insight; the light I have. I have taken absolute dominion over that area of life. I am not depending on any man’s pocket not even your offering. Church Gist. Okay, people here testify, “I gave Papa offering and I got more.” So is it your offering? “I sowed to Papa life, then I got more.” Did they say I collect from them then they got more? That means, there is something I know that makes my ground fertile. There are people you sow to and nothing happens. You get broker, broker, broke.
In Exodus 4:17, the rod, from Isaiah 11:1-3 is Jesus and Jesus is the Word of God John 1:1-3. So, you shake your world with the Word in your hand. Church Gist. So, all we need to do is to accept responsibility to operate by going for the Word of God.
Hear what God says to you and I: In 2 Timothy 2:15, you know the problem with the body of Christ? We don’t want to study. Church Gist. We don’t want to go for the Word. People want to turn Christianity to magic; they think it is abracadabra. Listen, there is no area of your life if you don’t go for the Word that you can ever overcome.
Yesterday I was going through a deep study that any area of your life where you want change, there are 8 cycles. Every area of your life, including habit you want to change, it takes 8 cycles. I have prepared the message but I will teach it at the appropriate time. I was studying for myself. Anything you want to overcome, if you don’t go through those 8 cycles, after a while you will come back to it. Church Gist. I had to study to say what is it. Listen, don’t suppress any habit; if you suppress it, it will come out when challenges come. If you are the type that loves money, you may not look for money but the day you are under serious challenge and they out money before you, you say, “give me money, I will do anything.” Every habit must be subjected to 8 cycles. So, I have to study and study.
So, our problem is we don’t like to study. “Just pray for me; prophesy.” Somebody came with abject poverty for house rent and I gave him the money – a man of God. And I said, ‘Sir, you have been a Pastor before I became born again. You are still looking for house rent. Take this book by Bishop David Oyedepo, Breaking Financial Hardship, and read it. This begging from place to place will stop. He came back after close to 12 years; he thought I will forget his face. Church Gist. He didn’t know that I will still remember his face. And he came again with money problem. After he narrated his ordeal I said, ‘Sir, you are a Pastor.’ He said, Yes. “Do you think I have forgotten your face? 10 or 12 years have passed does not mean I have forgotten your face.” Are you the one I gave Breaking Financial Hardship? He said Yes. I asked if he has read it. He said, ‘around chapter 2.’ after 12 years, he is still begging. I didn’t give him this time because I felt he was playing with me.
In Proverbs 24:13-14. You cannot find something and it will not show. If you say you have found prosperity, then it will show that you are not begging again. Church Gist. Somebody was talking with me and said, Sir, I am so sick because of the cold. I said all Fulani men should be sick because they stay under cold. That’s how we deceive ourselves. When things are not working we look for something to corner it. You don’t know is that you don’t know it. If you go to exam hall and start chewing your biro, you don’t know. You say, there was a black out in the exam hall because I didn’t sleep in the night, I took coffee. It’s a lie! You don’t know anything. Church Gist. The brilliant ones finish and leave. Because when they are reading, you won’t be reading. So, study to show yourself approved. It is only those who are approved that will have proofs. It is only what you have discovered that will reflect in your life.
3) Put the Word to practice: you can lay hold on the Word but the Word you lay hold on if you don’t put it to practice it is useless. James 1:22. Believing and knowing the Word is not enough; you must put it to practice. Miracles are aftermaths of corresponding actions. Church Gist. In John 2:1-11, when Jesus told them to put water, they didn’t say, Jesus said we should put water, do you know He said we should put water? They went to put water! They obeyed. Whatever God says to you don’t sing it, don’t quote it, don’t preach it, do it. Knowing all Scriptures without doing can lead to frustration. Act on the Word for God to confirm it. Church Gist. Many can’t operate in the supernatural because they know all the Scriptures but they don’t act on them.
4) Declare the Word: what you don’t say cannot be confirmed. In Mark 11:23; Genesis 1:1-6. So, no sound, there will be no signs. You have to keep saying what you want.
I started saying I can’t be poor long ago. Keep declaring the Word of God that’s how you run the supernatural. Church Gist. In John 8:28, everything you get from God’s Word, speak it. Learn to talk right; put the Word of God in your heart and then speak. Matthew 12:34b. You speak the right Word to release your destiny. Never speak negative words. Shout hallelujah!
