YOU CANNOT HAVE LIGHT AND LACK GLADNESS. LIGHT IS EXCITEMENT, CELEBRATION
EVERY LIGHT THAT YOU ENCOUNTER IN GOD BROADENS YOUR VISION
LIGHT IS THE BASIS OF VISION. DARKNESS LIMITS VISION

- Light fuels hope
- Light kills fear
- Light births faith
- Light brings joy: Ecclesiastes 11:7. Light is sweet; light is pleasurable; light is exciting. It brings joy. Esther 8:16. You cannot have light and lack gladness. You cannot have light and lack joy. If we say the light is the Word in Jeremiah 15:16, light brings joy. Church Gist. Why? Because light brings hope and hope brings joy. Why? Because light gives birth to faith and when you believe you rejoice with joy unspeakable. 1 Peter 1:8. Light increases your faith and your faith causes you to believe and when you believe you rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.
- Everyone battling with depression, with any form of depression, today it is over forever!
How many of you know that darkness travels with depression? Most depressed people prefer the dark room; just prefer isolation, darkness. There is depression in darkness; there is nothing exciting about darkness. Church Gist. There is nothing to look forward to in darkness; it is depression. Light is excitement, celebration. How many of you know the fireworks that they do when there is major celebration? And everybody is rejoicing and celebrating. That is what light is all about.
Light is celebration, excitement, fulfillment. I don’t know whether there is power outage in Ghana here once in a while but in many parts of Africa including our own, once it is off, at times children will start crying and once light is back, they start jubilating and screaming and shouting. Church Gist. It is a natural response; even in the course of the service, where there is any challenge may be the generator is off, everybody becomes depressed and when the light is back, everybody comes alive. That is the power of light. As it is in the physical, so it is in the spiritual.
- Everyone who is a victim of depression here, I declare that depressive devil arrested and return back to hell in the name of Jesus!
- Light facilitates vision: Habakkuk 2:1-3. Light is the basis of vision. Darkness limits vision. Your eyes are normal but you are in a dark room; how far can you see? You don’t have any problem with your eye sight but there is no light. The extent to what you can see is limited. Church Gist. There is a limit to what you can see in a dark room or in the thick of the night. It was not your eye that has a problem; it is the fact that light does not exist. The problem was not with the eyes, the sight; the problem is because there is no light.
You know what happens when people are blind? It is that the eyes no longer have the ability to receive light or to respond to light. The cornea of the eye is no longer receiving light and so vision is gone. The meaning of that is, every light that you encounter in God broadens your vision. It makes you to dare something new you have not dared before. Church Gist. It makes you to yearn for something more you haven’t yearned for before. It makes you to desire to do something new you haven’t done before. It just breaks all your limitations and wants you to exceed all your previous boundaries because when light comes, it comes with vision.
- I prophecy to someone here today, the light of God that I speak about is about to birth fresh vision in your heart and life and fresh vision all round.
Lift your hand and say, “I receive fresh vision by the power of light.”
Isn’t light wonderful?
- Light births wisdom: lighted people are wise people. The limit of your light is the limit of your wisdom. Ecclesiastes 2:13. Wisdom is light and foolishness is darkness. Daniel 5:11. When Daniel was lighted, that light translated into wisdom. People who are lighted in the Word and lighted in God abide naturally in the realm of wisdom. The intensity of light is the vibrancy of wisdom. Church Gist. Let me say it like this: Revelation sharpens discretion. Revelation facilitates decisions. When you have the revelation of God which is light and the revelation of the Word, it sharpens your discretion. Your reasoning capacity is sharpened. Your decision making ability is enhanced. The lighter you are, the wiser you are. The more lighted you are, the wiser you get.
Paul the Apostle in Scripture was one of the most lighted men. 2 Peter 3:15-16. Paul the Apostle the man that was lighted in the Word of God was also a man of very unusual wisdom. Church Gist. He carried the wisdom that people could not understand. You light in the Word will give you wisdom beyond your years. It gives you wisdom beyond your age, beyond your experience.
By my understanding of the Word I was counselling people on marital matters before I ever got married. I knew how to work it and I was not married yet. I knew how to live hitch-free and I was not married yet but I saw it in the Word. Church Gist. I saw it in the Word, I counseled them and I have applied the same counsel to my own life for 20 something years and it is working and continues to work.
One day a man called me from China. He wanted to make a decision and he asked me a question, I want to do this or that. What should I do? I just gave him an answer immediately. He said to me, wait a minute Sir. Did you prepare for this question? Church Gist. I said, “why?” He said, you answered immediately; you didn’t think about it. No, I didn’t think about it because there was a deposit of Word, a deposit of insight that had the answer already for him whenever he is going to ask.
Lift your hands and say, “Father, thank you.”
This year, I taught on vision in our Church in January and I taught many things in that direction and one of the people in the classes said, “this is higher for them than even what they learnt in Harvard.” One of them said, “I am going to collect my money back from the master class I am doing because what I just learnt in Church is heavier than what I paid to be taught in master class.” Church Gist. Every single one of those things they were taught came out of the Word not from any book, Oxford or anything. It just came raw from the Word.
Lift your hands and say, Father, I step into the realm of wisdom by the light of the Word. I receive light in the Word and I step into wisdom.
- Light enhances life’s quality.
The quality of your life is enhanced by light. John 1:1-5. Light equals life. The quality of a person’s life is determined and enhanced by light. Let’s look at it in the physical, we are told that the sun is positioned at such a strategic angle that if it is one inch or a few inches closer, all life on earth will be roasted by the heat of the sun. If it is a few inches further away, life on earth will be frozen. It is positioned in such a strategic position to determine life’s quality. The sunlight is responsible for the process that is called photosynthesis whereby the use of sunlight, carbon dioxide and so on are transmitted into plant food and human beings consume that. That is life will not exist without sunlight. You look at a reptile in the morning, a lizard, for instance, is unable to make any meaningful motion until it receives energy from the sunlight. The eagle draws strength and energy from the sunlight in order to be strong and healthy. That is the impact of light in the physical. Church Gist. How many of you have ever woken up in the morning and maybe for one reason or the other you didn’t look at the mirror, you didn’t do the things you are meant to do with light, maybe there was a power outage or something and then you stepped out and discovered you had not ironed your cloth, it is rumpled and maybe you didn’t you see your face well in the mirror, you walked out and realized your hair was scattered and everything looked upside down. That is your life in its quality was tampered with because you never encountered light. The quality of your spiritual life, the standard and level of your life is at the mercy of the light you have. If you are going to get to a higher level, then you need brighter light. The light of God, the light of His Word, the light of His presence. Today, I announce, I decree, I prophesy that somebody’s life is shifting in intensity, is shifting in quality, is shifting in impact. If you are that person you say a louder amen.
- Light facilitates flight.
Isaiah 60:1,8. In verse 1 you got the light, in verse 8 you took a flight. The meaning of that is that light brings a push. Light pushes you forward. Revelation brings acceleration, it brings elevation. Galatians 2:2. Your life begins to move faster, business begins to move faster, everything around you begins to move faster when light arrives. How many of you have travelled in the night before and maybe your headlamp was not very bright? How fast could you move? You couldn’t move very fast. One day I travelled in the night with a headlamp that wasn’t very bright, I was forced to move slowly. Church Gist. All of a sudden, a four-wheel drive or a Nissan Patrol or a Land Cruiser with very bright light just overtook us and flooded the road with light. He began to move and I told my driver to key into the light and let us follow his acceleration. That was how we keyed into that light and I learnt a lesson that day, that your association can determine your acceleration. So in his light, we saw light. It was from Abuja to Lokoja for those of you who know. We just reached our destination faster than we would have because we connected to bright light. Your speed is about to change, your level is about to change. Get ready to take a flight.
So what have we said so far?
- Light fuels hope
- Light kills fear
- Light births faith
- Light brings joy
- Light facilitates vision.
- Light births wisdom.
- Light enhances life’s quality.
- Light facilitates flight.
Yesterday night I told you how to walk with light:
- Arrive at light. Go for light. Isaiah 60:1. We might talk about this later tonight, light is the presence of God, light is the Word of God. Go for light.
- Direct the light at the darkness. Everywhere you see darkness around your life look for the light that can handle that darkness.
- Continue to increase in light. Light is in degrees. Proverbs 4:18. Church Gist. Whatever you know now there is something more to know. Whatever light you have now, there is a brighter dimension of light. Continue to increase in the light.
- Sustain the light. Continue to sustain the light in the face of darkness. John 1:5 says “the light shineth..” not the light shined, the light shineth. So the light must continue to shine. You must take up the light and hold up the light. Church Gist. You must continue to point the light at the darkness until the darkness completely disappears. It is a new day for somebody.
Lift up your hands and begin to appreciate Him for what you just received. God is going to use His light to chase darkness out of the life of somebody.
Open your mouth and ask the Lord to move you to higher dimensions of light.
