Born on 12th May to the family of late Emmanuel Idowu and late Maria Ajike Maria Areogun, the above statement gives a glimpse of who Reverend Sola Areogun is, having lost his father at a tender age in 1967. He was brought up by his mother who had a challenging childhood with the loss of her parents when she was 18 months old, widowed at the age of 38, with 5 children and no western education. However, his mother was industrious and helped her husband in his husbandry business while he was alive. After his father’s death, his mother enrolled for adult education classes at St. Paul’s Church, Odo-Ona, Ibadan, South West Nigeria and also a course in cake baking which resulted in the start-up of a catering business thus enabling her to provide for her children’s education.
In 1983, he received a call to Ministry and by 1984, God commissioned him to “Go to show the world that Jesus is alive and to teach the believers how to operate the life of God in them”. He embarked on village outreaches and church planting in virgin territories. He also started a training ministry for youths called August Missionary Outreach Programme (AMOP) during this period. 4 years later, in 1988, God spoke to him to conduct city-wide special healing services in different towns where believers were taught on victory over sin, sickness and poverty. In November 1989, God instructed him to start the Dream Centre of the Life Oasis International Church at Ilesa, Osun State. The following year, in 1990, he began to hold Believers Bible Conference in major cities in Nigeria, where various churches come together to receive light from God’s word with high attendance from various Ministers of the Gospel. In 1996, he received a vision from the Lord with the following mandate: Committed to Helping Men Realize their God-Given Dreams in Life.
Today, Reverend Olusola Areogun is highly revered as a mentor of leaders for the next generation with varied ministerial exposure and experience. He is also the President of the Sola Areogun Ministries (SOAR) with a mission to preach the gospel from coast to coast to coast until there is no more coast to cover. He also oversees Living Jesus Ministerial Training Institute, a full time Bible School. Church Gist. Moreover, he serves as a father and cover to many ministries. His daily Radio TV programme, “Living By the Answer” is heard across Nigeria, Africa, United Kingdom, Europe and the United States. Other outreaches include Web of Wisdom Ministers’ Conference, a bi-annual event to refresh and re-fire ministers of the gospel; Men in Ministry Mentorship Programme (MIMMP).
As part of his call to serve the will of God in his generation, he has authored several books such as ‘Following the Faith of Abraham’; ‘The Seven Components of the Will of God’; ‘Are you praying or complaining? Practical Insights for a Life of Answered Prayers’; ‘The reality of the Spirit Man: Ways by which your Spirit Man Contacts You’; ‘The Call of God and You’ and ‘Follow the Leader’.
He got married to his beautiful wife, Oyenike, who is also an ordained minister on 15th December 1990 and the anointed marriage in Christ is blessed with 2 children: Joshua and Peace.
