The prophetic focus for the month is, “I will restore health unto you.” Jeremiah 30:17. Jeremiah 8:20-22. Those words (in verse 22) according to Bible history were spoken about 500 years before Jesus came then he showed up and said, “Go and learn what these meaneth – “I will have mercy and not sacrifice.” Church Gist. Matthew 9:10-13. Every time they called Jesus when he arrived here, ‘Son of David, have mercy!’ he manifests himself. He fulfilled it. So we are looking at, MEET JESUS, THE GREAT PHYSICIAN AND HIS GREAT PRESCRIPTIONS. That’s the subject matter for our Midweek services. Jesus Christ still heals and delivers as in Bible days today because he is the same yesterday, today and forever. How many have ever experienced the healing power of Christ in their lives? He still heals all manner of sicknesses and diseases. Matthew 4:23. Church Gist. He still heals today instantly and sometimes through a process of recovery. He hasn’t changed, he is still the great physician. Matthew 8:17, 1 Peter 2:24. Same time our redemption was settled, our health was settled. When a thief is caught he is made to pay back 7 folds – whatever the enemy has stolen from your health shall be supernaturally restored!
Matthew 8:16-17. I caught that light August 30, 1980 reading through the book, “7 keys to divine healing” by Kenneth E. Hagin. As if I was hearing the word, “took” as past tense of “take” for the first time in my life. I needed treatment for the first time (from a Doctor since he received that word) after 29 years (2009). Church Gist. What an health insurance! Isaiah 53:5. Redemption is a buy back what has been earlier sold out. So he bought us back from the market of lack and want, sickness, disease, death. Christ by his precious blood bought us back. So we are no longer open to buying and selling. We are off the market.
He is the only known all-round specialist that heals and delivers from all forms of sickness and disease. They came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases and they were healed. Every one of them. Luke 6:17-19. Acts 10:38. No oppression of the devil can escape His authority. It is very important to take note here that no oppression of the devil has a medical cure. No specialist hospital under the sun can diagnose an oppression of the devil. There is no scan, no MRI, no nothing that can diagnose an oppression of the devil. Church Gist. They would have been treating the spinal problem for that woman that was bent over. Jesus said it was Satan that bound her. There is no spinal injection that can affect her. She is bound by a devil that cannot be diagnosed. We are not going to be preaching, we are going to be teaching so you can receive the vaccine of the Word and come out of that bondage. So when it comes, that is it.
The prescription of this Great Physician covers all issues of life including our health and wholeness. He came to give us life and life in its perfect state. 2 Peter 1:3. The days of shame and reproach are over in your life. Let me first define His balm. The Word of God is the compendium of the Great Physician’s prescription. He sent His Word and it healed them. Doctors write their prescriptions in papers and send you to go and look for chemists or pharmacies to buy them from. This is the Great Physician’s master prescription. The Balm in Gilead. If you watch Jesus’ ministry, you will find out that his healing ministries were orchestrated by his word. We just read Matthew 4:23, he was teaching in their synagogue and healing them of their sickness and disease. Luke 5:17. He was teaching and the power of God was oozing forth from the Word healing them. Church Gist. Proverbs 4:20-22. The Word! I read an article in a magazine, that magazine is titled The New Wine, 19th February 1983 and it was an article on the power of the Word. There was a testimony of a woman there who was reading a book titled Face Up With A Miracle by Bob Mumford, she was in her laundry on the wheelchair. She didn’t know when she stood up from the wheelchair and went to the sink to rinse her clothes. She looked back and the wheelchair was behind her. Something entered her while reading that book. That is how powerful that balm is, The Word.
What is in this Word? Healing, health and wholeness. When you find it, not when you put it under your pillow or your table or on your bookshelves, it shall be life to them that find it and life to all their flesh. You find it, there is an unveiling that unleashes that healing virtue. What is in the Word? Light! No degree of darkness can resist the authority of light. So when you are under any oppression of the devil and light breaks forth, darkness backs out. John 1:1-5. Church Gist. It lightens people so the powers of darkness just lose their grip. John 1:9. What is in the Word? The light that shines in the darkness that darkness can’t do anything about. What is in the Word that heals? Divine nature which is immune to sickness and diseases. 2 Peter 1:2-4. This book communicates divine nature. So the more loaded one is with the Word of Life, the more immune to sickness and disease he becomes. Divine nature!
What is in this Word? The chief cornerstone. It turns your flesh to stone. Stones don’t get sick. You come against stone, you are broken to pieces. The stone comes against you, you are ground to powder. Matthew 21:42. Church Gist. Who is the stone? Jesus. Who is Jesus? The Word. Anything agent of the wicked that comes against you, your family and your affairs shall be broken to pieces.
Now all of these provisions only become a reality with faith. Luke 1:45. You can’t realize the reality of the truth without faith. Jesus the truth, the light, the chief cornerstone, the very nature of God, got to Nazareth and couldn’t impact on them and he marvelled at their unbelief. Church Gist. Mark 6:6. No word from the Lord ever comes true without faith.
Let’s check through some healing wonders in faith:
1. Healing is the covenant right of every child of God but accessible only by faith. 1 John 5:4; Matthew 9:27-29. Your healing and my healing is according to our faith. Current faith o not past tense faith. Faith is not faith was. Faith on fire! Not yesterday faith or last year faith. The people of Nazareth missed out because of their unbelief. Church Gist. Mark 6:6-7. No one can tap into the healing virtue without faith.
Singing, (He touched me and oh what joy that filled my soul…🎶🎶) Now watch this is the mystery: Isaiah 53:1. That’s how you come to Church and no one lays hand on you, you’re just healed. Your faith jumps up, his hand stretches forth. When your faith comes alive, his hand stretches forth to touch you.
That family ravaged with tuberculosis – 4 of them, husband, wife, 2 sons – they were healed without anybody touching them (referring to testimony). Why? Faith came alive and God’s hand stretched forth to touch them. Church Gist. Somebody is being touched now by what they are hearing – if you believe it!
Singing, (He touched me and oh what joy that filled my soul…🎶🎶 Somebody touched me, somebody touched my soul)
Wake up! He’s still touching people right now whose faith is being stirred up. It’s your birth right, it’s not your ambition. He paid the price for it. Church Gist. Faith is it. That woman went behind and touched the hem of his garment, Jesus said, “Thy faith has drawn virtue from me which has made thee whole.” We can’t draw virtue from the Word without faith. Luke 8:40-48.
But faith is not just believing God, faith is obeying God to prove that we believe him so we can commit him to make good his promise. Take this prescription; it will do wonders in your life that will be undeniable. Romans 10:17. Get to the point you understand your right to healing, health and wholeness and then your faith taps into that virtue and it makes you whole. Church Gist. While faith is domiciled in the heart – for with the heart man believes, it requires the tongue to manifest. Romans 10:10. “How you doing?” (Reply) Praise God! I am made whole. “Well well well, I don’t know what I’m feeling, I’m feeling one kind and two kind…” You shall have whatsoever you say.
There was one of our daughters here who heard me say, “that if anybody asks you how far now?” regarding your expectation for the fruit of the womb, tell whosoever, “God has done it.” So one woman that was monitoring her life called her that morning, “How are you my daughter? How is everything?” Church Gist. God has done it – she replied. “My chest my chest my chest.” – the woman on the other side. Luke 21:15. Stop talking sideways. Stop talking in the middle of the road. Psalm 81:10-14. You saw how wide Moses’ mouth was in Egypt? “Pharaoh, let my people go!” – not diplomatic arrangement.
Do you want to silence your enemies? Open your mouth. “The stranger shall hear and fade away from their hiding places.” If they don’t hear they won’t fade. You will be struggling with them. In the early days of our ministry someone came into the office and said he was hearing noises in his house, I said you are too quiet. Get there and be saying “Hosanna in the Highest. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord.” He came back to say he didn’t hear anything again. Nature abhors a vacuum. You left the stage for them, they will occupy it. So I burst into tongues that they don’t understand, they don’t know where I am coming from. I opened my eyes in the night, I speak to the atmosphere and they clear off. Church Gist. Open your mouth wide and he will fill it. It is what we condemn with our mouths that God confirms into testimonies. No weapon formed against you and me shall prosper but every tongue that rises against you and me in judgement, we shall condemn. Isaiah 54:17. You condemn and I confirm. I can’t condemn for you. My name is Love. You condemn and I confirm. Say to that challenge on your health “You are condemned. You are a weapon fashioned against me, you are not permitted to be here. I condemn you”.
Do you know something? Our faith answers in heaven. It is our tongues that the enemy surrenders to. You believe in your heart, you say with your mouth. People have missed the two. God won’t speak to the mountain for you. Mark 11:23-24. Believe in your heart and speak to the obstacles and I turn them to miracles. They said the vitals of our daughter had gone down, I sat in my office and said Jesus there must be a way out. Church Gist. The Word! He said “Son there is a way out. Come and see here, One! Two! Three! Four! Awesome God.” There are many people that will not go back with that sickness tonight. If you refuse to doubt in your heart that the prize has been fully paid for your total health.
It is illegal to be in the centre of buying and selling of devils and their agents. It is not just speaking but speaking boldly. Not here! Acts 14:3. It is not speaking casually, boldly, confidently or unshakeably. Somebody’s miracle children have just arrived. The battle is over.
This is the answer to all health problems of mankind. The Balm in Gilead. The woman was reading the French edition of my book, Winning Invisible Battles in the Democratic Republic of Congo and this woman has been followed by some invisible forces. These people were following her she couldn’t see them. She will get near a breakthrough, it will break down. Church Gist. She got through reading half of that book and then something like a human figure just walked out of her body and she became free. Light will dispel any darkness no matter how gross that darkness may be. I wrote an article in 1983, YOU CAN WALK OUT ON THE DEVIL. It is what metamorphosed to SATAN GET LOST. The devil is an embodiment of darkness, light! You find anointed people struggling with the devil, light.
One man was set free in our crusade and the evil spirits came back on him in the camp where we were. They were struggling with him. All the men of muscles were struggling, they called me “Brother David there is a major problem here. I got there and first chastised them “Is this the major problem? Lose him” because they were holding him and he was throwing them around. Church Gist. I pointed my long fingers at him, you know my fingers are very long. I said “The angels that left their first estate kept not their habitation, they are kept under chains in darkness, what are you doing here?” all the devils left at the arrow of light. Somebody is walking free.
Lift your right hand and give God thanks because this is your month of total restoration.
