PEOPLE ARE VALUELESS AND WORTHLESS WITHOUT VISION
SU!CIDES ARE CONTEMPLATED WHERE THE MEANING OF LIFE IS NO LONGER DISCERNED
WHEN PEOPLE DON’T LIVE BY VISION, THEY’RE LEAVING LIFE TO CHANCE
SITTING DOWN TO GOSSIP ANOTHER PERSON FOR HOURS IS A SIGN OF VISIONLESSNESS
LIFE BECOMES TIRING FOR A MAN WHO IS ALIVE AND DOES NOT KNOW THE REASON WHY HE’S ALIVE
PEOPLE OF VISION ARE PEOPLE OF PARTICULAR THINGS, NOT EVERYTHING
UNLIKE EVERY OTHER PERSON, PEOPLE OF VISION LIVE IN THEIR FUTURE AND NOT IN THE PRESENT
OUR CHALLENGE IS THAT WHEN WE GROW UP, WE LOSE IMAGINATION AND BECOME MORE FOCUSED ON MEMORY
YOUR INHERENT ABILITIES CAN BE A WAY TO DISCOVER YOUR VISION IN LIFE
WHERE YOU ARE KNOWLEDGEABLE, THERE YOU ARE MARKETABLE
YOUR INSPIRATION AFFECTS YOUR MANIFESTATION
THAT PROBLEM THAT PAINS YOUR HEART IS CONNECTED TO A PROBLEM YOU’RE CREATED TO SOLVE
I CAN PAY TO ATTEND CRUSADES AND PREACH TO PEOPLE
WE DON’T TAKE OFFERINGS AT OUR CRUSADES BECAUSE OF OUR PASSION FOR SOULS
  • Pastor Dr. Paul Enenche on “NECESSITY OF VISION” || August 2024 Anointing Service || Dunamis International Gospel Centre || The Glory Dome, Abuja.

This morning, we are looking quickly at the subject, “THE NECESSITY OF VISION”. Our objective as it is stated is to understand why it is necessary to function with vision in life. Proverbs 4:23. Church Gist. It is important to know that vision is a crucial necessity for profitable and quality existence. The life of vision, living with vision is a critical necessity for profitable and qualitative existence.

It has been said that the purpose of life is the life of purpose. That is, life without purpose has no purpose. Life without purpose is purposeless. Church Gist. The life of vision was the secret of such lives like that of Joseph, Paul the Apostle, monumental, impactful existence on the earth. Question is, what is the necessity of vision? Why is vision necessary?

  1. Life without vision is life without meaning. Life is meaningless without vision. Proverbs 29:18. People are valueless, they become worthless without vision. Church Gist. Life without vision is life without meaning. The reason is, first, vision imparts meaning to life. And next, that life becomes worthless and aimless without vision. Where there’s no vision, the person actually feels no reason to live. Vision is actually reason to be alive, what keeps you living, what makes life meaningful. Su!cides are contemplated when people see no reasons anymore to be alive. “What is this life all about?”, they say. “What am I here for?” But if you understand that there’s a purpose of God for your life and that there are things that must be achieved like Job said, “if a man dies, shall he live again? Church Gist. All the days of my appointed time I will wait until my change comes”, he sees something in front of him, then he decides he’s not going now. Life without vision is life without meaning. Su!cides are contemplated where the meaning of life is no longer discerned, where people can no longer discern that there’s a meaning to life.
  2. Life without vision is life left to chance. Why is this important? Proverbs 4:23. So, life is left to chance where there’s no vision. And so, what’s the meaning of life left to chance? Church Gist. First, a life left to chance is a life lived at risk, it’s life at risk when it’s left to chance. That is, anything can happen. A life that is left to chance that is not guided is a life left at risk. That is when you’re not deliberately living, you’re not intentionally living but you’re living by trial and error, it’s a life left at risk. Church Gist. Secondly, life left to chance has no chance at all. Whatever happens by chance can also end by chance, that is, if it was a good thing. A life left to chance has no chance at all. When people don’t live by vision, they’re leaving life to chance. Church Gist. What is the chance that a monkey hitting the keyboard at random can play good music? No chance. Life without vision left to chance means it is such a life where what you see is what you get. It is such a life where anything goes.
  3. Life without vision is life without bearing. No bearing, no navigation. Proverbs 4:26. Be clear what path you’re following in life. It is life without bearing. Church Gist. What is the meaning of life without bearing? I’m going to say a second part of this in the second service. Life without bearing is life becoming a burden. When a man is alive and he does not know the reason why he’s alive, life becomes tiring. Life is unexciting, it’s tiring. Life without bearing is life as a burden. Church Gist. Secondly, life without bearing is time without meaning. He doesn’t know the reason why he has time. Time is available but it’s employed to do nothing. Life without bearing. That is why you see a lot of young men, they can waste 10 hours watching a movie which is not a part of their vision for life but time without meaning. That is why you can see somebody sitting down gossiping another person for two hours, that’s time without meaning. Church Gist. Also, life without bearing is energy without value. He has energy but no value for it. “What am I using my strength and power for?” Energy without value. This guy, he slept last night and he woke up in the morning, still tired, nothing to pursue – energy without value. Life without bearing also equals ability without reason. He knows how to do many things but he doesn’t know how to translate them into generational impact. Ability without reason. He’s using his capacity to speak for talkativeness. Ability without reason. Church Gist. So, everything becomes burdensome like Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 1:2. Time is vanity, energy is vanity, ability is vanity.
  • That will never be your portion.

So, vision is so necessary because life without vision is life without meaning, life without vision is life left to chance, life without vision is life without a bearing.

  1. Life without vision is life left to distraction. Psalm 27:4. People of vision are people of particular things, not everything. One thing. Philippians 3:13. People of vision are people of particular things. Life without vision is life left to distraction. Church Gist. What is the meaning of that? Life without vision is life left at the mercy of external impulse, external situations and circumstances. Secondly, it means, it’s life pulled in multiple directions. This man’s life is without vision, so, he’s pulled in multiple directions, everything catches his attention and fancy. Thirdly, it means, it’s life where everything goes. Church Gist. He just jumped into a car now that is traveling to Kafanchan or Kaduna or Makurdi or Enugu, he didn’t plan for it in the morning. He just found his friend in the day and the friend said, “I am going to Enugu” and he said, “really? What are you going to do?” He says, “Oh. I just want to visit one of my friends there, I’ll be back tomorrow. Can you go?” “Why not? What am I doing? Nothing”. Church Gist. He just jumped in. Just living at random. You know, when you’re a man of vision, almost 99 percent of your decisions are already-made. People won’t pull you into things just suddenly like that. Your face is set as a flinch, you know what you want out of life and you know where you’re going. Church Gist. If you see who looks like a wife, you know and if you see who looks like a husband, you know, in case you’re still single. (Life without vision) is life lived to distraction.
  • that will never be your portion!
Anybody can just run into your life and just sell you something that you were not planning to buy, just anything. Praise the Lord.
  1. Life without vision is life without discipline, discipline of character. Proverbs 29:18. One translation said, “where there’s no vision, the people run wild”. Life without vision is life without discipline and that is the discipline of character. Church Gist. Because, first, vision brings discipline to character. Because, secondly and this is very important, what you want to become affects how you choose to live. “What do I want to become in life? Where am I going in life?” It affects how you choose to live. Church Gist. For instance, someone who wants to graduate with a first class degree, there’s a way the person wants to live that is different from someone who just wants to go through university and say, “I’m a graduate”. There’s a way they conduct themselves. Someone who wants to marry without the bed defiled, you want to marry pure, there’s a way you conduct yourself around each other in courtship relationship that is different from the other people who anything goes. Church Gist. So, it disciplines your character. There’s something on your mind, there’s what you’re gunning for. Someone who wants to go far in ministry, there’s a way he conducts his life. Go far in your career. Do you know there are people who begin to prepare for presidency, in civilized countries like America, they began to prepare for becoming president from childhood. Church Gist. There are things they would not dare because of records that may come up later. It disciplines character, very very important. So, visionless people are characterless people. Do you understand what I’m saying? Young lady carries bag and she’s standing at the junction of Sheraton or Hilton or something waiting for anybody to carry her in a car. Anybody. Church Gist. HIV body, hepatitis body, anybody, occultic body, ritualist killer body, just standing there, why? No vision for her life. If she does, it doesn’t matter. All she wants is money to buy latest iPhone and to dress like others. So, there’s characterlessness, no discipline, no control, anytime, “I’m here, I’m available”. Young man has no vision for his life, he carries gun, joins the cult, if they kill him tomorrow, it doesn’t matter.
  • that will never be your portion in the name of Jesus Christ.
  • I pray for you today, grace to run and live with vision. That grace is released upon you right now in Jesus’ precious name.

Very very quickly, (what is vision)?

  1. Vision is insight into life’s purpose.
  2. Vision is focus on the future while living in the present. Your focus is on the future but your life is in the present. You’re living in the present but your focus is on the future. Genesis 13:14-15. Church Gist. He (Abraham) was in his present but mandated to see his future. It is focus on the future while living in the present. Every other person live in the present but people of vision live in their future. They’re obsessed with the tomorrow, so they’re not depressed because of today, they’re not discouraged because of today, they’re not demotivated by today. Church Gist. You’re imagining them, you travel into your future with your imagination. I’m sure you know how children used to do then, “my father will buy me aeroplane and me and him will be flying the aeroplane, vooomm”. They just have a lot of imagination. Our challenge is that when we grow up, we lose imagination and become more focused on memory. Church Gist. Imagination and memory are both pictures but one is a replay of the past, which is memory and imagination is a preplay of the future and it is the imagination that helps us more than the one of focusing on the past. So, you’re preplaying the future.

Now, how do we discover vision?

  1. Discovery at the place of prayer.
Habakkuk 2:1. Where you go before God and you’re asking the Lord, “Lord, what are you saying about my life? What is your plan? What is your purpose? What do you want me to do with the next 5-10 years of my life? What are you saying to me? Who am I and why am I?” .
  2. The passion of your heart.
I knew of a young man as a boy who was always busy with little bricks using it to build houses. As a child, he just keeps on, his own play is around that kind of a thing. Church Gist. At the end of the day, this person becomes one of the foremost property agent in the whole world. The dominant passion of your heart, there’s a connection.
  3. Discovery from inherent potentials.
Inherent, what you can do. The passion is different from the potentials. The passion is what dominates your heart, potential is your capability, your ability, what you know how to do. Church Gist. In 1 Samuel 16:17-18, we saw how David was the most talented instrumentalist in Israel and that ability, potential launched him to the palace. The ability, even what people see of you, those who know you. So, there are potentials, there are things that people go to school to learn that you do without going to school. Church Gist. Do you understand that kind of thing? You didn’t learn it in school, e just dey body. For example, there are people who went to school to learn how to act drama but your own life is drama. That is, your own movement is drama. There are those who went to school to learn dancing but your own, even your walking step is a dance. Church Gist. And people ignore these things because it is so easy with them, they didn’t consider it a gift. They do it so easily until it lost value. No, it shouldn’t lose value. When you begin to see such endowment, such gifting and such graces, then you begin to know that God has something with you and such a gift.
  4. Discovery through Divine wisdom, inspiration, ideas or knowledge.
That is, it came to you as an idea, as an inspiration, came to you and it’s still different from all of these I mentioned. Church Gist. It came to you as a wisdom, an idea, inspiration, something you know. That was the realm that Joseph was. Genesis 41:39-44. So, Joseph received inspiration, ideas and wisdom that positioned him in his destiny and his vision. So, what area are you wise? In that area, you shall rise. Where you are knowledgeable, there you are marketable. Did you hear? Where you’re wise, there you’ll rise; where you’re knowledgeable, there you’re marketable. Your inspiration affects your manifestation. So, you should understand that and be able to draw upon this and then you’ll impact your world. Church Gist. So, discovery through divine wisdom, inspiration, ideas or knowledge. Because a lot of young people and even adults, the continuous concern is, “how do I know my vision and my purpose in life?”
  5. Through the burden of generational need.
There are times when your heart is burdened to meet particular needs. There are things around that burden you. “Oh Lord, how can this kind of situation be solved?” You seem to hold yourself responsible to solving certain things. Church Gist. That was the situation with Nehemiah in Nehemiah 1:1-4 when he heard that the wall of Jerusalem was broken down and the gates were burnt with fire. He took it upon himself. That problem that makes you cry, that problem that pains your heart is connected to a problem you’re created to solve. Am I communicating at all? So, this is very important. And the burden won’t leave you. Church Gist. You just want to do something about the housing situation, the transportation situation of the country, you want to do something about the security situation, you want to just do something. There’s a need, a burden that is connected.
  6. Discovery through love and affection.
There’s a love in your heart, an affection for something. You love something. Genesis 40:6-8. Church Gist. You see, Joseph had a love for meeting people’s needs, for making people happy, so God positioned him over a nation where he can make a nation happy.

I know a young man, he said he loves taking care of people, he had other things he was doing but he just loves to feed people, he just loves to make people happy, he just loves to host people and that love pushed him into the hospitality industry and then, he just hit the road running with very massive and impactful outing in that field. Church Gist. So, you just want to check yourself. I know a woman, she just loves gathering books, she just loves books. And then, she grew up, got married and then realized that she had to (open) where people can come and get books, bookstore. As I was growing up as a young Christian and a Pastor, in fact, pastor, her bookshop was where I frequently patronized to pick Tozer’s books and Kenyon’s books and Hagin’s books and so on. Church Gist. She said she grew up with that love. So, what you love doing is connected to what you’ll live doing. And I’m not talking about disastrous love for things like, “I love smoking” no. That’s not what I’m talking about. Not love for bad things. “I love following women”, no oh, that one is love to hell. “I love alcohol”, no no. I’m talking about positive, profitable love. What you love doing, you love touching people, you love making people happy. Church Gist. There’s nothing I love like making people feel valued. When people put people down, it’s like you’re trying to dagger me. When somebody acts in a way… Church Gist. That’s why I’m very brutal against men that slap their wife or even are excited in making their wife or their family sad. Are you hearing what I’m saying here today?

I was in the UK many years ago and I read, I’ve said this story before, I read, I don’t know the popular magazine in the UK right now, of a man who sold his piece of artwork for 11 million pounds. Did you hear what I just said? Painting, drawing, art for 11 million pounds. Church Gist. So, they asked him, “how do you feel selling a piece of art and you got 11 million pounds?” He said he’s surprised that he’s just enjoying his life and they are paying him for it. The painting is an enjoyment of life. As far as he was concerned, he wasn’t working, he was just living life, that is something he loves to do and he’s just enjoying himself doing it and they get to pay him 11 million pounds. Church Gist. What is it that you enjoy doing so much that you can do free of charge even if you’re not paid?

You know I can go for crusade ground and pay you for it if you want me. Just give me the microphone, I can pay if you want me to. We don’t take offerings at our crusades, that’s to show you the extent to which we are passionate and in love with delivering people, getting them saved. Church Gist. I can actually pay you. Just tell me that Yola stadium is filled with people, there’s nobody to preach to them to get them saved. I’ll say “okay, I’m available, do you want me to pay for it?” And I’m not going to take an offering, one single dime, I’m only ready to deploy every grace of God to break the back of the devil and while I’m doing that, the one who called me is taking care of everything and demons and their demonettes are shocked at what is happening and can’t understand the mystery. Hallelujah!

  • somebody say Amen!
Did you get anything this morning at all?
  • you’ll never miss road another time!
