There is a particular force behind sin that is called the spirit of rebellion. If you want you can call it the spirit of disobedience, they mean the same thing. Church Gist. The spirit of rebellion makes believers always have their own opinion different from God’s own. God said but…, God said nevertheless …
Ephesians 2:2
There is a spirit that makes men walk in disobedience, it is called the spirit of disobedience
Isaiah 50:4, Philippians 2:5-11
That is a prophecy about Christ, he was obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Church Gist. He laid down his life by himself, no one took it from him.
- Tonight receive afresh the spirit of obedience that delivers people from rebellion. That God speaks to you in your privacy and you don’t pretend not to know. As you read your Bible and receive correction, you no longer ignore it.
Your obedience only adds value to you not to anybody else. Your disobedience only erodes value from you not from anybody else (Proverbs 9:12). I know some families have recorded loss of lives here and there. I know a family who had only one son, the son gets into drugs and drove himself into a gutter and was declared dead. As emotional as Africans are, no father agrees to be buried with his son. Church Gist. The following day, the father is going to his work place. He mustn’t die because you died. If you are wise you are wise for yourself, if you scorn only you will bear it.
The only way to overcome the spirit of disobedience is to be endued with the spirit of obedience Ezekiel 36:27-28. There is a spirit of obedience that enables believers to conquer the spirit of disobedience. Whatever makes anyone here to say NO to heaven’s instruction for his life must clear out this night because heaven’s instruction is for your elevation. Every instruction from heaven is for my elevation (Deuteronomy 28:1). As you do what God says, God moves you higher, until you are up there above all nations of the earth. You are on top of the world by obedience. Obedience is God’s secret for your change of level.
1 Samuel 15:22-23
There is no sacrifice that will make a substitute for obedience, if you don’t obey His instruction sacrifice won’t make a difference. Church Gist. Disobedience is interpreted to mean witchcraft, that was the word to Saul. He was God’s choice and suddenly, disobedience turned God’s back on him.
- No one will suffer such setback in his life.
Again we look at two benefits of godliness
- It enhances access to revelation: insight into the truth of scriptures that sets free and empowers for triumph.
The secret of God is only accessible to them that fear Him (Psalms 25:14).. Church Gist. Revelation is what empowers believers for flight.
Isaiah 60:1-3, 8, 22
Go to Kaduna with a bus and go with flight, you know the difference, they are not the same. You have right to get on a flight to your destiny, you don’t need to buy a ticket. Just buy the truth and sell it not. Buy into the truth of scriptures and then you find your destiny on a flight.
- My prayer is that no one here will sell his birthright for a morsel of meat.
- It secures peace, quietness and assurance.
There is no peace for the wicked sayeth the Lord (Isaiah 48:22, Proverbs 28:1). We are all used to this scripture, Isaiah 32:17 it has been going round all through since the month began.

And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
- Your heart will not be troubled again
Just give His instructions its rightful place and then you enjoy peace, quietness, and assurance for ever. Many will doubt your story, they will waste their time arguing how your testimony can be true and you will be there enjoying it.
When I get on any flight, I say “Thank you Father for safe arrival. Amen” if it’s night and I need to sleep, I sleep like somebody in his bedroom. If I hear a noise in my sleep, I can stop it. There is enough peace inside to stop it. Church Gist. You want to see God’s signs and wonders in your life? Hold your peace and the Lord will fight for you. The anxious don’t have a place in that realm. (Psalms 46:10)
What guarantees peace is your crave and my crave for righteousness. Mathew 5:6, it’s something we crave for, it’s not something we are waiting for. We pant after it and then you enjoy peace, quietness and assurance for ever, from that platform you command the supernatural naturally. Church Gist. A number of accident victims, the moment they see the vehicle coming “my God this is the end, I must make heaven”. Zero resistance, so the devil has his way free. But with peace, you just wake like Jesus “peace be still” and the vehicle will stop auto and each of you will pass with ease. That is what peace does in commanding the supernatural.
- The Lord shall fight for you and you shall hold your peace.
Lift up your hands and give God thanks for the word tonight. If you caught any light tonight, give Jesus thanks for it.
