Opening Night || House Fellowship Leaders and Workers Meeting

He said, “I was glad when they said, come, let’s go into the house of God.” This is because David said in Psalm 23:6, He said, “surely, goodness and mercy shall follow me.” For how long? All the days of my life. And he said the reason is, (verse 6b).

That’s why David said in Psalm 27:4, if I can just dwell in His house, I am sure my joy will be full; my prayers will be answered. Church Gist. So, he has given us the secret of perfect jubilee: a place where there will be joy, not once in 50 years, not once in 40 years, but permanently.

But then the question now comes: can I go and be living in the Church? Do I locate the Headquarters of Redeemed Christian Church of God at Ebute Metta and say, “hey, here I come, this is where I believe in now for the rest of my life.” Even if they say you are welcome, come and be living here, how many of us can go there? Church Gist. That is why you see the wisdom in being a house fellowship leader in your house because if I can’t go and be living in the Church, I can bring the Church into my house. Church Gist. If I can’t be living at Headquarters Church in Ebute Metta, or one of the beautiful churches around here, House of Favour, King is Coming, etcetera, I can bring God to my house permanently.

This is because when you go through the Scriptures, you will see people again and again that God wrote to. In Romans 16:3, Philemon 1:2, Colossians 4:15, again and again, when Paul was writing to these people, he referred to the Church in your house. These people brought God into their house. Church Gist. They asked God, come and live in my house so I can be in your presence constantly and have fullness of joy. Come and live in my house so that I know that any prayer I pray, will be answered by fire. Church Gist. Come and live in my house so I can be sure that goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.

I heard a testimony not too long ago: somewhere in the North, bandits were rampaging, shooting, killing, and they got to a house and all of a sudden, the soldier or the bandit that was assigned for that house started shouting, “there is fire here!” And their leader said, “what are you talking about?” Church Gist. And so the leader moved close to see what is the fire here. It is a poster that says, “house fellowship meets here.”

You probably have also heard the testimony before: there was a mighty flood in one of the nations of the world, that destroyed houses upon houses in a particular town. Every house on the left was flooded, every house on the right was flooded, then, only one house that the water didn’t get into. Church Gist. All the houses were flooded up to window level. There was only one house that remained dry. So you wonder how did the water cross from left to right. It is a house that had a sign, “Redeemed Christian Church of God House Fellowship meets here.”

Why? They brought God into their home. God is living here. When you read 2 Samuel 6:5-11, you know the story of what happened when they were bringing the ark of the covenant into the city of David and there was an accident on the way. Church Gist. David said, “there is one man who is not an Israeli, let’s take the ark of covenant to his house. If he can die, let him die.” They brought God to the house of Obed-edom. He wasn’t even a child of God; he wasn’t of the tribe of the Almighty. He was supposed to die if he can die. They brought God in.

And what happened? Not only did this man begin to prosper immediately, he became known throughout the whole nation for Prosperity.

  • And whether you believe it or not, there is someone listening to me now, one day when they are talking about the one who is most blessed in your country, they will mention you!

He prospered so mightily within three months that everybody heard and they told David, this is what’s happening. David said is that so? Okay! I lost it, I’ll go and get it back.

Jubilee means restoration and a new beginning. David went to the house of Obed-edom and he said Obed (he responded; your majesty) thank you for keeping the Ark for me, I have come for it. Church Gist. And then you can see David dancing, jumping and rejoicing, just like you’re doing this evening, because he got his jubilee that day.

There are many of us here, we have had opportunities to open our house for house fellowship and we ignored the opportunity. There are some of us who are workers and that’s all we are. But, this is the year of restoration, every opportunity we have lost we shall regain it. Church Gist. You’re going to have your jubilee this week, you’re going to open your house to God. God is coming to live in your house and then you will have fullness of Joy. Your prayers will be answered, goodness and mercy will then begin to follow you all the days of your life.

PRAYERS:

  1. Father, every opportunity I have lost, restore it to me tonight.
  2. Father, relocate into my home, come and dwell in my house.
