MANY OF OUR CHILDREN RUN AWAY TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES AND DISCOVER THAT THOSE COUNTRIES HAVE THEIR OWN PROBLEMS
OUR PROBLEMS (AS A NATION) HAVE BECOME SO BIG THAT OUR LEADERS KNOW THEY CAN’T EVEN SOLVE THE PROBLEM
WE ARE GOING TO CONFESS THE SINS OF THE CHURCH TO THE ALMIGHTY GOD
‘FATHER FORGIVE THE CHURCH FOR OUR FAILURE TO SHINE AND BE THE SALT OF THE EARTH’ – HE PRAYED

The next 20 minutes we want to confess the sins of the Church. We are always eager to discuss the problems of our nation – what they are not doing right, etc. Church Gist. We are always eager to discuss the problems of even our Church leaders but what did God say in 2 Chronicles 7:14 – Christians are the wife of Jesus Christ and if they can humble themselves and seek my face not for what they can get from me but how to please me, then will I hear from Heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land. We are going to confess the sins of the Church to the Almighty God today.
We call ourselves the light but we have not been shining. We are many and yet, darkness is still abounding. Why? Because we are not pleasing our God because He says in His Word, ‘When a man’s ways please the Lord He will cause even His enemies to be at peace with Him.’ Church Gist. We are going to the Almighty God and say, “Father forgive the Church for our failure to shine and be the salt of the Earth. For us not praying, not humbling ourselves. Church Gist. Forgive our pride, forgive our seeking you only for what we can get from you. Forgive us for not praying for our leaders – those in Government and even those in the Church.”
Please forgive the Church and I am part of the problem. There might be people that I have driven away from the Church by my actions – please forgive me, the Church. Church Gist. Lord God Almighty we confess today that we are the ones who have failed. Let’s cry to God.
Almighty God we say thank you for keeping us alive till today. For the turning point that we (have) come to today, thank you. Accept our thanks in Jesus’ name. Father we are sorry that we have not pleased you in the past, that we have failed you in several ways, that we have disobeyed you in several ways. Father we plead guilty – young and old, individually, families, the Church as a whole, our nation, we plead guilty but Father please, have mercy on us.
Forgive us Oh Lord. Put an end to our suffering. Don’t let this suffering enter the New Year with us. Heal our Land. Please Lord, look down from Heaven; this suffering is too much. Church Gist. We are afraid to go out during the day, even during the night, afraid at home, afraid on a journey, this suffering is too much Daddy. Have mercy on us!
God Almighty, those who should be taking care of us, they don’t even have time for us now. Oh no, they don’t! Our problems have become so big; they themselves know they can’t even solve the problem but Almighty God you can. King of Glory you can solve our problem. Have mercy on us. Heal our land for the sake of the name of Jesus. Church Gist. Many of our children are running away to foreign countries. When they get there, they discover that those countries have their own problems. They discover that, ‘hey, Europe is at war…’ and when things don’t turn out the way they are expecting, shame won’t allow them to come back. Lord, heal our land!
Please Lord have mercy. God, it is to you we turn. You are the helper of the helpless. We have turned our eyes to you Lord. Church Gist. We have looked up to the hills from whence cometh our help? Our help comes from you Lord. You are the maker of Heaven and Earth. Forgive us, have mercy on us.
The people who are supposed to look after us… one Governor was very honest. He told his people and said, “I can’t take care of you. Look for a way of taking care of yourself.” (Question is) with what? With what are we going to face these criminals, these agents of darkness except you. Church Gist. Lord please, turn our darkness to light, turn our sorrow to joy. Let us enter the New Year with joy, singing victory at last. Please My Daddy, because of the few of us that you love, that you love specially, because your Word says that we are to weep with those who are weeping and those who are weeping are many. Daddy they are many; please heal our land.
Father, we will repent, change our ways, forsake all our evil ways. We know we were guilty particularly those of us in the Church. Many of us pastors, when was the last time we preached about the second coming of Jesus? We have turned the faces of the people away from Heaven. Church Gist. We are now focusing more on what’s going on and what they can get on Earth. Father, please forgive us. We have failed you, please forgive us. You made us light but we are not shining. We are many but secret societies keep multiplying. We are not shining, we are not winning souls, we are not doing your work.
Lord God Almighty, please forgive us. Please heal our land. The Earth is yours and the fullness thereof. When you say let there be light there must be light. Heal our land. Church Gist. Command light into our land. Heal our homes, heal your Churches and we will glorify your name. Thank you Father in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.
The prayer for Nigeria has been concluded. There is still one more prayer we are going to pray. It is going to be fairly violent prayer but it is very necessary. Church Gist. With God on our side, we are able to move mountains.
