EXPECTATION SUBSTANTIATES OUR FAITH. IF IT IS NOT EXPECTED, IT IS NOT FAITH.
EVERY EXPECTATION-EMPTY PRAYER WILL HIT THE ROCK!
IT IS THAT LACK OF EXPECTATION THAT MAKES PEOPLE JUST WEARY THEMSELVES ON THE PRAYER ALTAR
OUR ACTIONS FURTHER VALIDATE OUR EXPECTATION. IF YOU REALLY EXPECTED AND THERE WAS A RESPONSE, IT SHOULD AFFECT YOUR STEPS.
-Bishop David Oyedepo at Covenant Hour of Prayer|| 28th October, 2022.
Father, speak to us this morning as you have been doing since Monday. Let light break forth into our spirit man. In Jesus precious name.
Praise God, I’m more than a conqueror!
Congratulations, get seated and give the Lord a big hand of praise.
Only the prayer of faith qualifies for answers with God. Mark 11:24.
What is faith?
Remember we are talking about PRAYING ANSWER-EXPECTANT PRAYERS.
Hebrews 11:1
Hope is what we expect. The confidence of His reality based on the integrity of God. Things expected… Any prayer without expectation of answer is a mere religious exercise. Church Gist. Our expectation is what substantiates our faith. What is not expected will never be manifested. If it’s not expected, you will never experience it.
So wherever you see BELIEF, put EXPECT.
“Whatsoever things ye ask in prayer, believing, ‘expecting’, ye shall receive them.” Matthew 21:22.
Expectation substantiates our faith. Church Gist. If it’s not expected, it’s not faith.
Nehemiah prayed answer-expectant prayers and he got answers. How do I know? He wasn’t surprised when the king told him,” Of what do you make request? ” He expected, so there was no particular emotional display. He said, “Hold on, King. Let me check up from the altar of prayer.” He listed impossible things. Church Gist. It was like, ‘Come and sponsor this rebellion against your kingdom’ and the king said, “I will do it. Anything you ask for, even, half of my kingdom, it’s yours.”. He expected!
Daniel expected to be out of that den of lions because he believed in his God to show up and His God did.
Every expectation-empty prayer will hit the rock! Church Gist. So set your expectations in prayer and it will give value to your supplication and intercession.
When we call on God expecting, we shall receive answers to every bugging questions of your life. Jeremiah 33:3.
That testimony said, “God answered me from Psalms 46:10, and peace came to my soul.”
Moses prayed to the Lord, and he answered him by a voice. Exodus 19:19.
So, He’s still answering us but we don’t tarry at the prayer altar. Church Gist. We shut down once we say Amen. Okay, what have you done? You have simply informed God about your issues and you have not created room for His response. Perhaps because you are not even expecting one. Hosea 4:6
Our God is still a prayer-answering God and a question-answering God but we need to expect response when we pray. It is that lack of expectation that makes people just weary themselves out on the prayer altar. Church Gist. If there is no expectation, there cannot be any manifestation. And if you’re expecting, then create room for His response.
Lord, why is this church not growing? Prayers, yes; searching for what He wants to say from His word, yes, then He can come in with raw rhema to chart the way forward.
Expectation is what gives value to our intercession and supplications. Without expectation, prayer will remain an adventure in frustration.
“I’ve been praying for the past 7 months…” Weldone. What did you bring back from the prayer altar? The real Biblical value of prayer is answers!
Where there are no answers, it will be like the prayer of the priests of baal.
“Oh baal, see us, we are shedding blood here!” It said, “Where you are, the environment you are, I can’t move there.”
Some just count days in prayers, but can’t point to answers.
“I’ve been praying this prayer for the past 30 months, and I thank God…”
For what?! Did He ever speak to you once? There is no room created.
“Oh God, Oh God, OH God!!” Bye bye. No room for response!
After that my son got that response from Psalms 46:10, peace came and he continued his engagement and God responded. Now in 1 Samuel 2:3, Hannah was singing a Psalm unto God.
So our actions further validate our expectations. So if you really expected and there’s a response, it should affect your steps. It should affect your outlook. It should affect your perspective on such issues. Church Gist. And God showed up! God still weighs our actions to determine His response.
After Hannah heard the word, she rose up and took bread and her countenance was no more sad. And God remembered Hannah and Samuel came as well as 5 other boys after him.
Aweosme God!
So our negative action is a betrayal of our expectation. I’m not sure so let me not bother.
From henceforth, every prayer you pray expecting, based on the integrity of God and His word, having discovered His will concerning those issues, He will answer you!
We are going to sing “Prayer answering God you are worthy of my praise.”
Stand to your feet everybody.
You can count on His integrity and the integrity of His word.
From now no more dry prayer time!
Most of the time He responds to us by a voice behind a statement of Scriptures because the voice of the Lord is upon many waters. Church Gist. So be word-driven, be word-soaked, be word-motivated.
He can speak to us anyhow, directly or through Scriptures, but be sure it’s from the Lord.
Let’s celebrate Him with prophetic singing from the depth of your heart.
