Acts 2:22-24.
– I am here to announce to you, everything that is trying to hold you before today, the possibility of their hold on you is broken today! The grip of their hold on you is broken today!
Speaking very quickly and sharply on “Recoveries and Restorations by the Resurrection”. Church Gist. Our objective is to understand the restorations of the resurrection. By way of introduction, I am going to draw your attention to 5 things;
1. The crucifixion, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the central point of Christianity. Church Gist. Christianity is not qualified to be called Christianity without the crucifixion, the death, the burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Romans 14:7-9. That’s what the Gospel is about. Church Gist. The crucifixion, death, burial, resurrection and of course the ascension of Jesus Christ is the central point of Christianity.
2. The crucifixion, death, burial, resurrection and ascension is the power of Christianity. It’s what makes Christianity powerful. Philippians 3:10. Church Gist. Whatever makes the blind to see, the deaf to hear, a drug addict to be delivered and all the kinds of testimonies that we heard this morning, whatever made that possible is the fact of the resurrection. A resurrection-less Christianity is powerless Christianity. Church Gist. If Christ did not resurrect, there’s nothing powerful about Christianity.
3. The crucifixion, death, burial, resurrection and the ascension of Jesus Christ is the worst nightmare of satan and his kingdom. Church Gist. It’s the greatest fatality of hell; the deadliest blow that the Father ever gave to the Kingdom of darkness. 1 Corinthians 2:6-8. If they knew that the crucifixion was going to be their room, was going to be the final blow that will keep the devil where he belongs, they would never have dared it. Church Gist. The crucifixion, death, burial, resurrection and the ascension of Jesus Christ is the worst nightmare of satan and his Kingdom; the greatest fatality and the deadliest blow.
4. It is in this light that the crucifixion, death, burial, resurrection and the ascension of Jesus Christ is the most confusing, contentious and confounding subject throughout human history. Church Gist. So much contention, confusion and perplexity around it, and Satan made it so because of the value and the power that is in the revelation of the resurrection. 1 Corinthians 15:13-16. Many religions of the world, they just fight the virgin birth of Jesus Christ and they are just also confused about the resurrection of Jesus Christ and it’s just a confusion in their mind, but we know that Christ is alive today because He does what He did when He was alive yesterday. Church Gist. It takes a living God to perform living and current miracles.
5. The crucifixion, death, burial, resurrection and the ascension of Jesus Christ is about the rescue, redemption and restoration of mankind. Church Gist. What did God do when He sent His son Jesus to be crucified and die and then be buried, resurrect and ascend into Heaven? It is about rescue, redemption and restoration. Galatians 3:13-14. Why? Man God hopelessly lost when Adam and Eve committed sin and high treason in the garden of Eden and they decided to move with the enemy of God instead of serving the God that made them. Genesis 3:24. Church Gist. From that moment on, man stepped out of God’s presence and stepped out of God’s glory and stepped out of the garden and began to look for ways, he kept on looking for ways until the time where he decided to start looking for God and he began to look for God in every manner of way. Church Gist. Idolatry, he makes a golden image and says that is his god, and began to look for God until God said, “since you cannot find me, let me find you. You can’t locate me. You’re hopelessly lost, you have gone astray, you have messed up and you have missed it and you have the consequences of missing it but now, let me find you” and He sent His only begotten son to look for man and to locate man.
Many people say, “I found the Lord”, that is a very good statement to make but it is not accurate because you can’t find the Lord, the Lord was not missing, He finds you. Church Gist. He’s the one who locates us, He’s the one who sent His son to search for us and He found us and found everything that was lost along with our loss.
– I announce to someone today, there shall be full restoration!
The objective of this study is to discover the things that were restored by the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. Church Gist. What restoration do we expect?
1. The restoration of the plan and purpose of God for mankind. The plan and purpose of God for mankind that got corrupted got restored by the release of Christ to die for the world. Church Gist. God said, “let us make man in our image, after our likeness”-Genesis 1:26, that plan failed. John 3:16. He sent His Son so that the plan He had for mankind can come to pass.
2. The restoration of the nature of God in man. The restoration of the original man at creation, the nature of God in man. When man sinned, man died. Romans 3:23. Romans 6:23. Church Gist. God told Adam, “the moment you eat this fruit, you shall die”. Adam ate it and was still alive, why? It wasn’t the physical death, it was a spiritual death. The spirit of God in man literally expired and death is nothing but a separation. The separation of the spirit of man and the body of man is physical death; the separation of the Spirit of God and the spirit of man is spiritual death. Church Gist. So, man becomes denatured. There’s something we call denaturation of protein in protein biochemistry, where you turn on the heat on egg, the colourless egg becomes white because the heat changed the natured. it is protein but it moved from one nature to another. The new nature has colour, the previous nature had no colour. Church Gist. In the same manner, when man sinned, he lost nature, he became ordinary, he lost the supernatural nature, he descended almost into an animal kind of life but God brought Jesus Christ into the world so that we can acquire the same nature that we lost at creation.
3. The restoration of the glory and dignity of man. The glory that was lost by the fall. Romans 3:23. Psalm 8:1-5. Church Gist. There was a crown of glory and honour that was on man at creation but when man descended, he lost that crown, honour and glory so that the animals that man was ordained to tame and rule could become wild against man but at resurrection, there was a restoration. Colossians 1:27.
4. The restoration of the dominion and authority of man. God created man with dominion and authority. That dominion was lost. Genesis 1:28. Church Gist. God gave man dominion, man lost the dominion, but when Jesus resurrected, Matthew 28:18-19.
– I see somebody stepping into the realms of power here this morning.
– all the powers of your father’s house and the powers of the occult realm and the witchcraft world that has tried to tame your life, today, the Power of the resurrection shall bring them into total defeat and frustration in your life, in the name of Jesus!
– before this week is out, there’s somebody here that shall experience the raw manifestation of the Power of God.
– every monitoring devil that they sent to monitor your life, I declare they are set on fire!
– shout the loudest Amen!
5. The restoration of the relationship between God and man. Man lost relationship, there was a relationship breakdown. Genesis 3:23-24. 2 Corinthians 5:17-18. Church Gist. A major reason why Christ came is to reconcile man and God. That restoration happened at Calvary.
6. The restoration of the presence of God to man. Man was driven from the garden of God. Genesis 3:23. Genesis 3:8. God was always visiting them but when man fell, and was driven out of the garden of Eden, they lost the presence of God. Church Gist. But, when Jesus came and He died, Matthew 27:50-51, that veil was housing the Holy of Holies that had the ark of the covenant of the Lord, that carry the presence of God, the two cherubims, and carry the altar of incense and all of that. Only the High Priest went there once in a year, but when Jesus died, the veil tore by itself. Church Gist. The veil is like, maybe 18-metres tall, a man’s height is like 6-feet, that’s like 1.8metres, now consider it 18 metres tall, that’s a veil. It was torn from top down, not down up, so, it wasn’t a human hand that tore it. Looks like God sent a tall Angel to tear it apart. The meaning of that is;
i. “High Priest, your assignment is over. You’re not entering this Holy of Holies anymore. The final sacrifice has been made”.
ii. Anybody can enter the presence of God anytime, it is not only the High Priest anymore. Church Gist. Anybody can enter, anytime, anywhere, you can just access the presence of God anytime anywhere.
– look at somebody by your side, say, “the veil is torn, I have access to the presence of God. Anytime I want, I can step in there!”
7. The restoration of the voice of God to man. When man lost fellowship with God, he also lost the voice of God, let’s say direction. Church Gist. Genesis 3:8 When Jesus came, in John 14:6, “I am your direction, I am your information, I am your revelation, I am your life. That is why I came, so that you can have the direction and the voice you lost in Eden”. John 1:18. He came to reveal the Father to us.
8. The restoration of the blessing and the reversal of the curse of hardship, struggling, sweating. Church Gist. When man fell, God released a curse. Genesis 3:17-19. He came to reverse that curse of hardship and curse of sweating. Galatians 3:13.
9. The restoration of liberty and freedom. That is release from satanic bondage and enslavement. Galatians 3:13-14. You know why? When we obeyed the devil, we came under his control. Romans 6:16. Church Gist. When Adam obeyed the devil by eating the fruit, he brought himself and the whole of humanity under the authority of the devil but today, that authority is broken;
10. The restoration of life, health and vitality. You’re not permitted to be cut short before your time. Isaiah 53:4-5. Church Gist. Matthew 8:17.
– in case you came here sick or afflicted, the last symptom you felt shall be the last forever!
11. The restoration of all lost privileges and opportunities through sin. Church Gist. All the privileges and opportunities that sin made us to lose, we regain them back by the arrival of Jesus. Romans 8:32.
12. The restoration of hope. Colossians 1:27.
– look at your neighbour, say, “there’s nothing that is hopeless with God”.
They nailed Him, killed Him, thoroughly buried him. Normal disciples would be hopeless, “so, this man that was so powerful, this is how everything would end? Church Gist. So, what would we do with our lives from this moment forward?” And Jesus told them, “if Calvary happen on Friday, don’t give up because Sunday has not yet happened”.
– there may be somebody here today, maybe the devil thought he has finished something in your life but I am here to announce to you, this resurrection Sunday morning, God will show you that He has gone ahead of the devil, that He is senior to the devil, that He was the one who created the devil.
– shout the loudest Amen.
– let this resurrection Sunday morning be the resurrection of your hope.
Nothing is too lost that cannot be found in God. Nothing is too dead that cannot be made alive by God.
13. The restoration of Faith – Faith in the reality and authenticity of God’s Word. Because Jesus told them, “after 3 days, I will be resurrected”. You can imagine what would have happened if after 3 days He was not resurrected. Church Gist. Their Faith would be gone forever. Faith in the reality of the supernatural. He said it, He did it. He did it, He said it.
Anybody whose Faith is under attack, the devil says, “stop going to Church. What has it profited you?” Church Gist. After this resurrection Sunday morning, the world will the profit of your profession, they will see the benefit of your Faith and your belief. 1 Corinthians 15:14. Since Christ is risen, our Faith is profitable and valuable.
14. The realization of Divine prophecy. Bringing to pass what He said will happen. The realization of Prophecy. Genesis 3:15-16. Church Gist. This prophecy was fulfilled when Jesus was crucified and He put His heels on the head of Satan and marched him through the corridors of hell. Colossians 2:15.
These are the restorations. How do you appropriate them? How do we appropriate these restorations.
1. Give your life to Christ. Let Him own you. 2 Corinthians 5:17-21. If you’re in Christ, you’re a new creation; if you’re in Christ, resurrection happens for you.
2. Embrace the truth of the crucifixion and the resurrection. What you’re hearing today should not just be to you ordinary stories, embrace the truth. John 8:32. Church Gist. The truth is, the death of Jesus healed you, so you reject the sickness. The death of Jesus freed you from sin, the death of Jesus gave you a relationship with the Father, so you can have the assurance of eternity with Christ in Heaven.
3. Study to embrace the truth of the events of the crucifixion and the resurrection.
4. Determine to live for Him who died for you. 2 Corinthians 5:18. 2 Corinthians 5:15. He died for you so you can live for Him; He died for me so I can live for Him. Church Gist. You remember the testimony of a young man, how he was making money by dubious means and he sat in a taxi and they were preaching the tragedy of evil money and he was pricked in his heart. He went and resigned his job and it appeared as if he began to suffer. Church Gist. He said, is this what financial integrity will cost him, suffering until he cannot take care of his family? Then he heard a statement I had made, that if you can’t find a job, allow God to employ you. So he stepped into Evangelism and began to work for God. One day he was on evangelism and the voice of the Lord told him, “look right” and he looked, “driver wanted”. He said, “me? With second class upper degree Bsc, I should go and become a driver?” He followed another principle, “if you can’t find what you want, do what you find until you find what you need”. Church Gist. He followed that principle and went and got engaged as a driver and after a while, the man said, “you know what? You’re a degree holder, take this car of 3 million, pay the money back and it will become your own”. After paying 800,000, he said, “you know what? Forget the balance, 2.2 million, own the whole car”. That is what it means to live for God. Church Gist. When you live for self, you live like a slave but when you live for God, you live for good.
Stop imagining yourself coming to Church every Sunday without anybody coming to Church because of you. Church Gist. Refuse to allow a whole year to pass and nobody was led to Christ on your account. Refuse it. I met a business man the other day, he told me last year that he had a target of a hundred souls and he met that target. This year, he has targeted 300 souls and he’s not a Pastor. Church Gist. He set for himself a target of 300 souls before the year is over, a member of the Church. He said in addition to that 300 souls a year, his prayer target is between 1&3 hours every day. He’s in business. Church Gist. Hallelujah. Live for Him and then you can appropriate the reason why He has died for you.
I have some Prophetic Words to release, are you ready to receive?
– I announce today, every plan of God for your life that the devil has been fighting, by this resurrection morning, that fight is over!
– I announce today, every nature in you that is contrary to the nature and character of God, by this resurrection morning, I declare, it is arrested!
– I decree the release of glory and dignity!
– every garment of shame that the enemy has placed on your body, on your life, today, they are arrested! They are roasted by fire!
– I decree, you’re stepping into the realms of authority and dominion. From this day forward, you’re the one that shall dominate the forces of darkness in your family, in your father’s house and in your community. They shall never be able to dominate you!
– In the name of Jesus, I prophesy, a higher level of relationship with God. A new dimension of intimacy, receive it now!
– Feelable presence, tangible presence, that is your portion!
– Everyone trusting God for direction, you need the voice of God in your ears, in your dream, at anytime, wherever, I decree that direction is released now!
– every ancestral curse, every generational curse, every curse of hardship, struggling and sweating, today, it is broken!
– I decree the release of the blessing upon your life, in the name of Jesus.
– liberty is yours! Satanic bondage is broken! Everything that puts your life under pressure is over!
– I take authority over every spirit of infirmity, every disease, hepatitis, diabetes, peptic ulcers, sickle cell anaemia and Whatever it is that is an affliction in your body, I declare, it is arrested!
– As we will take the communion this morning, whatever Jesus died at Calvary to clear out of your system, by the mystery of the communion this morning, those things are cleared out of your system! HIV is cleared out! Hepatitis is cleared out! Sickle cell anaemia is cleared out!
– right now, everything that is an opportunity, everything that the enemy took from you, every privilege lost, every opportunity lost is arrested right now!
– I decree the release of hope!
– I announce to you today, everything the devil has told you and convinced you that you have lost, I declare restoration right now!
– There’s someone here, God will do something so drastic that will shift your Faith to another level, in your life, in your family and in our nation! He’s going to do something so drastic that will convince you that there’s a God
– every prophecy concerning your life that is pending; every Word of God concerning your life that is pending you; everything God has said about you, about me, about our nation that is pending, I announce today, they are realized!
– say after me, “Father, I hand over myself completely to you. I receive the grace to understand the truth. I am determined to live for you. I receive that grace to live for you. Help me Lord to live for you, oh Lord, in the name of Jesus”.
