The Message this morning is: RISING TO KINGDOM PROMINENCE (WORD-BASED PROSPERITY). Rising to Kingdom prominence is a state of being above only. That’s the meaning. Deuteronomy 28:13. (Phone rings). I’ve said it over and over, you will never see iPhone ring in Church because poor men don’t carry iPhones. It’s these Dubai phones and all these… The wealthy people don’t turn on (their) phones because they want to hear something to improve their lives. Poor people want to put on (the) phone for the rich man to call them. Church Gist. Putting on (your) phone (to ring) in Church is a sign of poverty mentality. You want somebody to call you so you can get (something). Wealthy people say: “No! I don’t want disturbance, I want to hear something.” Wealth is not money you have, you can have money and be poor in mentality. Anytime your phone rings, just say: “I’m a poor man!” All the poor people, put on your phones; wealthy people, turn off your phones. How many of you are wealthy? Then your phone should not ring. He said: “Thou shall be above only!” That means, there’s no option for you to be average. To be average in the Kingdom of God is an anathema. Isaiah 2:2-3. He said: “The things that will happen to the children of God will bring mighty crowd to say ‘what is happening’?”
-You will be one of those who God will announce to the World.
He said: “The last days’ Church will be an enviable Church.” Before now, they used to say: “As poor as a Church rat.” If you are a bit in your late forties you will know, they used to equate poverty with the Church but now they are even very angry, the Church is so rich. Church Gist. The same Church they were abusing now, they are now attacking us. Before now, they would say: “Don’t mind Church people, poor people, poor people!” Can you say so now? They say: No!!! Don’t mind those prosperity people!” So, human beings don’t like you to prosper.
-But you will prosper!
John 3:31. It is the people of God that constitute the Kingdom because a Kingdom without a people is not a Kingdom. Luke 17:21. You cannot have the Kingdom of God within you and not birth a revolution on the Earth. He said: “Don’t look too far, the Kingdom of God is what? (Within you).” That means you’re not permitted to be an average person. Church Gist. The prominence of the people of God accounts for the prominence of the Kingdom and we are all destined for prominence. Hear this and hear me well, poverty does not do anything good to anyone neither can it give voice to a person or a nation. To walk in poverty is not of God, our God is a prosperous God. Haggai 2:8. He owns the Heaven and the Earth and all the resources that are in it. Then, why are the children of God not getting it if He owns all. Psalm 24:1. Haggai 2:8.
What is Word-based prosperity?
Word-based prosperity is prosperity that is Word-ruled. This is strange! It’s been long I went through this way: There’s somebody, look at my hand here (Illustrating). Church Gist. You are having this pain from here into your brain, the pain is unbearable. Look at my finger, this is where it is, it is hitting from here as if they are putting pins into your brain.
-You are healed in Jesus’ name!
God told me to pray for you because you are not concentrating, you are in Church. Church Gist. From here, as if they’re putting a big pin into your brain.
-You are healed!
Word-based prosperity is a prosperity that is Word-ruled, that is ruled by the Word of God.
How to position yourself for sustainable Word-based prosperity.
In the First Service, I said:
- Love God.
If you want a Word-based prosperity, love God. - Have the right mentality.
Proverbs 23:7. Your mentality defines your destiny. Your mentality can empower you for prosperity or limit you with poverty. The soul is a place where the mind is. So, God is saying, your prosperity is a function of how your mind functions. The soul is made up of the will, emotions and the mind. So God is saying, you don’t prosper beyond your mental capacity. So the mind is the starting point of prosperity. Now listen carefully; why you must be careful is that God can own everything, yet you live in poverty. Luke 16:20-21. Church Gist. Was Lazarus a child of God? The Rich Man, was he a child of God? No! But ‘desire’ means that was what he wanted in his mind, so God left him. He made Heaven but he was a disappointment to God. Listen carefully, Lazarus made Heaven but he was a complete disappointment to God. ‘He desires’. Many of you, that’s how you are, “if my brother, who they just want to appoint commissioner, can just train my children.” God will leave you but you are useless. In fact, you are a complete disappointment to God. Your brother should train your children? See your mentality! This man was a child of God but he desired to eat from the rich man’s what? (Crumb). That’s an abuse to redemption! His father owns the Heaven and earth but he was desiring something. Many of you, your mentality is the reason why you’re where you are.
-I command that negative mindset to be broken in the name of Jesus! Church Gist. Come out of it in the name of Jesus!
God, your father is the owner of Heaven and what? (Earth). The silver is His, the gold is His. Then, why are you depending on sinners? You see how Lazarus reasoned? That’s how many of you reason even in Church now. “Who go come help me now!” Are you looking up to God or to man? Listen carefully, for time’s sake. Luke 15:11-32. The story talked about the prodigal son and his elder brother. How many of you know the story of the prodigal son and his elder brother? You don’t know the story? You didn’t do B.K (Bible Knowledge) in primary school? How many of you know the story of the prodigal son and his elder brother? Okay! If you didn’t do (B.K), then hear the story now. The two of them were born of the same parents. One was very rough, he took money, went and lived a riotous life. One was very calm, calculated, served God faithfully the way some of you are. You are so pious, you are holy, you don’t sin but poverty is your middle name. The prodigal son’s elder brother was like that. From where? (Mind). See what he said in verse 29. When the prodigal son came and they were doing party. In modern language, they were doing party. Welcome party! Welcome home party! They were playing music, feasting, eating good food. Then he heard sound as he was coming. He said: “What? What are they doing in our house?” Luke 15:29. The way some of you do: “Father! See me serving you for 5 years now, this man from militancy; today he is rich.” How can me? Nothing is working in my life and I’ve been coming. I’m in usher, I’m a sanctuary keeper, I’m in prayer squad, I’m in miracle squad, I’m in every squad. (Laughing). That’s what this Man said. He said: “I’ve been serving you.” That means, ‘I don’t commit sin’. If you read the Scripture, the Bible said he (the Father) killed the fattest calf for the prodigal son. But what was he asking for? (A kid). See his mentality! He was asking the Father who had a calf. He didn’t say: “You didn’t kill for me any fat calf oo.” “You didn’t kill for me a kid.” “Father! Give me one room, if I can get one room. If I can get one room! One room!” He says: “Where?” “In Ajegunle!! Maroko!” Even Maroko does not exist again now. “Ajegunle!” “God says: “Chei! One room! Me, your father!” You can start from one room, but your mindset should be a palace.” Say I hear! He was born in a manger but He did not live in a manger. Where you are born should not determine your mentality. You can be born without a silver spoon but can live a golden spoon life. Change your mindset! You can never prosper with a poverty mindset. Say I hear! Prodigal son’s elder brother had a poverty what? (Mindset).
-May you be free from such!
Now listen! I want to say to every one of us, slavery mentality can keep you in captivity. You can be born again and still not be free. Did you hear what I said? That you have made altar call does not guarantee mentality freedom. You are free from sin but you are not free from mental what? Captivity. You have to renew your mind with the Word of God. Church Gist. Now listen carefully, let me show you something. Israel was in Egypt for over 400 years – 430 years and they came out of Egypt as slaves. They were out of Egypt as what? As slaves. One thing with slaves, slaves; they function better only by supervision. They don’t take initiative on their own. That’s why they say it’s slavery mentality; they are not decision-makers. That’s the problem with slaves. They can never take any decision, masters always have to tell them what to do.
Numbers 13:27-28. Numbers 13:30-33. Moses said: “Go and spy the Land; go and spy it and come back and tell me whatever it is.” Then if it (the Land) eats people, how did they come with fruits? “Hmm! Nobody can make it in Nigeria.” If the Land eats people, how did they come back with fruits? Your exaggeration is too much! “You can’t make it in this Country oo. Ghana? Forget it! Akwaaba! You can’t make it in Ghana.” Church Gist. Who told you? Who told you that nonsense! “In Nigeria? Make it in Nigeria? Forget! You no go fit make am.” Who told you? Whoever gave you that perspective is your mind. “Do you know where I’m from? Kpite! I’m from Kpite-crocodile. Where they tie you, they just tie you like that. I’m from Bolo in Okrika. Nothing can happen except you ‘bolo’ there.” Your Mentality is poor! Your mindset is faulty. God said: “Go and spy the Land!” You say: “Nothing!” “You can’t make it! Who do you know in government! You?” You are already a failure by that mindset.
Numbers 13:33. See the way they exaggerated. And that’s how you too, you exaggerate the devil, you talk about the devil. You say: “If not for witches and wizards.” Who told you, my friend? What will witches do when me I’m prospering? Between you and me, who will witches follow? Say the truth now, you and me who will witches follow? If witches want to attack, is it you or me? Listen! If witches want to attack, between you and me, who will they attack? Me, my friend! Church Gist. Then why are they not attacking me? It’s your mindset! Witches are not worrying you, it’s you that is worrying yourself. Numbers 13:33. You can’t have a grasshopper’s mentality and stop hopping. You call yourself ‘poor man’ and that’s why they’re calling you ‘poor man’. Ten spies had grasshopper’s mentality. They all went to the same land, they were all in the same country but not the same perspective. That’s where I’m going! Are you getting me now? Two (people), Joshua and Caleb had the ability to interpret situations from God’s perspective. They say that this is what God said. Then, ten (spies) had their mindset the way the world reasons. How many understand where I’m going? How you see your situation determines where you will end.
The difference between success and failure, defeat and victory, prosperity and poverty is your mentality. Look at every situation from a higher point than using your own to analyze the situation. Are you getting me? Use the Word of God as a mirror to picture what you’re looking at. The worst belief you can have is self-limiting beliefs of any kind. Church Gist. And let me ask you a question: How do you see yourself? Listen to me, you deserve the best. Why? God is your father. He’s the owner of Heaven and earth because wealth is an offspring of your mentality. Ephesians 3:20. So what you’re thinking also determines your life. Say: I hear. Philemon 1:14. So there are things God wants to do, is your mind that is stopping Him. Say I hear! God is interested in prospering you but you must agree with Him in your mind. Amos 3:3. Let me say this to you: Mind what you think. Proverbs 4:23 (AMPC).
Stop thinking poverty thoughts and expect to prosper. Your thought is so faulty, let your imagination and thoughts be in line with God’s Word and nothing can stop you. Let me say this it will shock you, do 40 days fasting and prayer and be thinking poverty, you will still be poor. That is, be fasting! “I cast every demon out. All the principalities worrying me, out!” And your mindset is poor, you will still be a poor man with the prayers. Don’t pray, believe what God says, you will be rich. There are people who are poor! It’s mindset! Let me explain to you, to tell you how mentality is powerful! When you meet a Jew, the Israelis. An Israeli will talk with so much authority, they are very conscious of their covenant with Abraham. Meet a Jew, they talk with so much audacity anywhere in the World. The wealthiest people in America are Jews! Listen, many don’t know. The wealthiest people are not Arabs. Church Gist. The wealthiest people in the World are Jews. It’s not Arabs. Arabs have oil money, but the wealthiest people in the World are Jews; they use their brains because of their minds. From childhood, they indoctrinate the child to believe that he has a covenant with God. From childhood, they begin to talk to them. “You will rule over these people!” So the mind of a child from Israel is different from childhood. Now, we are covenant Jews – stronger than the natural Jews, but because our mind has been so faulty with all these witches and wizards, demonic forces, every time you hear ekwensu ekwensu (devil devil), your mind has been affected. You wake up in the morning if water is …” blood of Jesus, they want to kill me now,” nothing is going to kill you. Just change your mindset.
Believe God, what he has said – Genesis 11:6; Mark 9:23. If you believe that you are fearfully and wonderfully made, you are the head and not the tail, whatsoever you do shall prosper, it will be so. Psalm 23:5. You know why I don’t pray against witches? Church Gist. I saw in my Bible, he preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies, so their presence is irrelevant. Listen, you read it but you don’t understand it. Psalm 23:5 – so witches and wizards can’t stop you from prospering. Did God say he will prepare a table before you in their absence? No! So the witches should not be your concern. Your concern is to make the Lord your Shepherd. Church Gist. Psalm 23:1, 5. So Ogboni men can’t stop me. Let all the Ogboni men hold a meeting now, I will never be poor. Why? My God told me, he told you – Psalm 23:5. But your mentality is that, “O God, do 7 days deliverance.” Taar! It’s your mindset. The deliverance is already making you not to be delivered because your mind has not been delivered. So everyday you do midnight prayer against what? Witches? Then what will you do against satan? You will do your lifetime for satan. My friend, get up! I know you have heard so many junk from different Churches but I will tell you the truth: witches can’t stop you from prospering. Wizards can’t stop you because you become what you believe.
These people believed that they were giants – they stopped there. Caleb and Joshua said, we don’t care. The same you complaining, some people are saying, forget this nonsense. Church Gist. There cannot be any limitation to what you can do, have or be in life. Philippians 4:13 – because wealth is a product of wisdom and wisdom generated by thinking. Proverbs 3:13-16. Change your perspective. Stop saying, satan satan, now say, God God. You will not hear satan in my mouth, it’s not important; satan is a dog.
We went to Calabar, they said I should talk about the witches – I said, it’s not important. I said I won’t talk about them. They said, talk about one white garment people, I said they’re not important, I won’t waste my time talking about them. I said, all of you flying come out for altar call. If you see altar call, they came out plenty. I just made altar call and said, now, no more flying. The altar call for flying was more than the normal altar call because there, was the headquarters of flying. Are people not making it in Calabar? They’re making it. Is everybody a wizard? Church Gist. No! My friend stop all these witches and wizards. I don’t know the Church you came from – nonsense. Throw away all those rubbish. Throw them out of your mentality cocoons. Anything you magnify is what will control you. Magnify God for him to control you; stop magnifying the devil. If you magnify the devil he will control you. Every time, anybody you see you suspect. Be like say, this one na…instead of saying, good morning, you say, “hope no be wizard o.” Some people, they suspect everybody. Proverbs 3:13-16. The wealth you’re looking for is in wisdom and wisdom is in the mind. Wealth is a function of man’s capacity to think. The more you can think, the more wealthy you become and stop thinking rubbish. So many of you think rubbish that’s why you’re not rich.
Finally, while you think positively also note that by strength shall no man prevail. 1 Samuel 2:9. Learn to obey God’s instruction concerning prosperity. Isaiah 1:19; Job 36:11. So while you renew your mind, also know that you need to obey God. Obedience is simply doing exactly what God instructs. Church Gist. Obedience is the only thing God has ever required of man. Develop a hatred for disobedience. Now for instance in Proverbs 3:9-10. Prosperity is the reward of obedience. Church Gist. When you ask God for a miracle, he will always give you an instruction to obey. They said they want wine? He said, put water – they obeyed. You want to prosper? He will give you an instruction for you to obey. What’s the instruction for instance for prosperity? Malachi 3:10. Now what do you do? You just obey by paying tithe faithfully and give quality offering. You don’t need to argue it, just obey it and see whether God will not prove himself in your own life. Proverbs 11:24. My duty is to obey, it’s not to ask too many questions because when you ask questions you end up a question mark.
Tithing is the proof of your obedience. Offering is proof of your generosity. Giving is the proof you have conquered greed. Tithing is paying 10 per cent of your income back to God’s Kingdom. Tithing authorises God to confront your adversaries. Malachi 3:11. When you pay your tithe, you release the power of plenty into your life. Obey and see the reward. My duty is to obey; how God will do it is not my business. Malachi 3:10-12. Do you know why most of you are not being attracted to people? You’re not tithing. So when you go, in a colloquial English, “you will now look very wor-wor.” Church Gist. So you look worworism. You know why with your pancake nobody is attracted to you? Listen you wear pancake and do your face one kind yet everybody does not want you? You no dey pay tithe. Nobody go ever see glory on you; everybody wey see you na problem problem problem. Some of us when they see us they say, “how are you? Pass here.” You, you go immigration, (they ask you) “wetin you come do here?” You say, the way you dey ask me, I be thief? You say, “Na because I carry Nigerian Passport.” “Before I carry American passport? All the thing wey I get na Nigerian passport – green.” It’s a lie; they’re embarrassing you because you’re not a delightsome land. Have you not seen Americans they harass? They harass them too o. Church Gist. Some of us who are Nigerians they don’t even harass us. They say, “how are you? Pass.” So it’s not the passport, it’s what you carry. I am not a citizen of Nigeria, I am a citizen of Heaven so I carry Heaven immunity. The Glory of God is upon me.
- From today, nobody will harass you! But make sure you don’t do what will make people to harass you.
Develop your mentality to think in line with God’s Word and obey simple instruction of tithing and offering. How many know they can prosper no matter the place? How many believe they can never prosper in Nigeria? Change your mind o. Some of you after you leave Church now you say, “leave wetin Papa dey talk, you no go fit prosper here. He just dey talk there, he dey altar. For Nigeria, how person go take prosper?where fuel be 1000 plus, how you go take prosper?” Church Gist. You see your mind? But you’re praying, o God please make a way where there is no way. And God says, make a way for where? You are like the 10 spies – they said the Land is flowing with milk and honey but there are many giants so they eat up people. If they eat up people how did they bring the fruits? Some of you that’s how you exaggerate. You say, “if you no know anybody in Aso Rock, forget it. Are you in PDP or APC? If you’re not in PDP and APC you no go fit make am for this Country.” So everybody who is making it is a politician? There are some people who are not politicians – some have not even registered and they are making it. In fact the politicians are the ones who are having problems because they fight themselves. The non-politicians are the ones who are free because if you don’t enter any two parties they will give you contract but if you dey one they will say, which one you dey? All those are mentality.
Some of you your mentality is so poor even all these things we are preaching now, e no enter you. Even from the day there was no dime my mentality was very different. If you’re in this Church this is how I used to do; I don’t do it again. With one suit I say, “listen, I am going to be one of the richest pastors.” My mindset was too strong. Church Gist. Some will get angry and say, see as he dey take talk. That time this Church did not have shishi. Now I am quiet because now I am already rich so if I talk now they will say, na so. Go and listen to my old messages – you will hear me. It’s not the cloth you wear that determines your wealth – it’s your mind. Wealth is a function of your mind. You can wear dress and have poverty mentality.
They showed me the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, he wore slippers and shorts and sat down and took picture and put on Facebook. But if you want to see a poor man he go wan dress – make them know say he get money. Posing with designers is poverty mentality; rich people don’t pose with designers. Anybody showing designers is the first sign of poverty. Church Gist. If you see the wealthy, even their phone is that small phone – Nokia but you see poor person he will carry the latest phone snap and put for social media – latest handbag, Gucci, LV – poverty. Rich people don’t care – they can wear it o but that is not their focus. What is their focus is their mind.
Rise to your feet. You belong to a new family of Jesus. The Heaven and Earth he created them. You no longer belong to the poor family. You belong to the richest of all families. Your father is the King, you belong to his kingdom. Say, I hear! Change your mindset. Church Gist. Haggai 2:8. God is your father that’s the mindset you should have. Today you say, Lord I will put to practice everything contrary that is affecting my mind. I cast it down. I will never hold my mind captive with these nonsense thoughts, I will agree with the truth of God’s Word. 2 Corinthians 10:5.
I am not joking, mind has strong control over your life. From this day I decree:
- Every negative thought get out of your mind in the name of Jesus! Ask old members here, I used to say I will give money to Americans – no money in my hand then. I don’t expect Americans to give to me, I am expecting to give to Americans and my mind began to go that way because I saw I will lend to nations. One day, a top American came to and said, “Sir, we are owing and we don’t want this Church lost; can you help me?” Church Gist. I smiled and said, follow me to the bank and I gave him 100,000 Dollars (one hundred thousand dollars) – my money! He felt good and God said to me, you have been saying it and you have been thinking it and made it happen. Your problem is, I wish my brother will help me – you will never be blessed like that. Now, think of how you will help him (your brother) then God will change the narrative. He will now make sure you will help him. But many of us you are praying o but you’re thinking wrong – it cancels the prayers. But you say, Lord I want to get to a point where I will assist my brother. How God will do it is not your problem. You know what is 100,000 dollars today? It is one hundred and sixty something million Naira but I felt good. But if I didn’t think it, God wouldn’t have done it. Stop thinking low of yourself, you’re too loaded. That you don’t have money today does not mean you’re a poor person. You may not have shishi, you’re rich – stinkingly rich. Your father is rich, he is the owner of Heaven and Earth. Stop thinking nonsense. Church Gist. Woman stop depending on your husband for assistance. It didn’t say, woman thou shalt depend on the man – where is it in the Bible? Can’t you also be blessed of God? Your thinking is wrong. Many women, (say) “if my husband get money, I get money.” You be slave? Didn’t your Bible say, male and female? Galatians 3:28. But many of women all their thinking is, if my husband get money … You you no go get money? What of your family people you no go help them? Yes, your husband can give to you but must you depend on your husband? Are you a slave?
