The Prophetic Focus for the month is ON MY WAY TO MY HIGH PLACES. That implies there is a place for every one of us in space. You are redeemed as a city upon a hill that cannot be hidden. Church Gist. Jesus is the bright and morning star and as His Father has sent Him so has He sent us. We belong to the top, all we need is to locate the way up there. In the name of Jesus, this month will show clearly to everyone how to get there.
High places are not our ambition, it is our birthright. It is not the ambition of an elephant to be big, it is in his nature. We belong to the Most High God, we belong to the most high places because like begets like. In the precious name of Jesus, you will not end your journey a mediocre. Church Gist. You will not end your journey as a beggar. You are redeemed for the top and not that bottom. Say that “I am redeemed for the top and not the bottom.” So high places are not my ambition, it is my birthright. A city set on a hill that cannot be hidden. Up there, that is where you belong. In the name of Jesus, nothing will stop your way there.
Our teaching series for our Sunday Services is captioned THE BIBLE A MOST RELIABLE GUIDE OF LIFE. It is our God ordained GPS to navigate our way in this wicked world. Psalm 119:105. You can’t miss your steps following the dictates of this book. Church Gist. You are on your way to your high places following the dictates of this book. This is not a history book, it is life. So it is important to learn how to be led by the dictates of the Bible. Understanding how God leads is crucial to everyone of us in order to make the most of our adventure in life. Isaiah 48:21. His leading puts you and I above all prevailing circumstances. Water gushing out in the desert? Yes! When God leads He makes anything happen.
His leading is what defines our environment, not our environment defining His leadings. He said to Isaac, “thou shall not go down to Egypt. Your destiny is tied to this place.” Isaac sowed in land and reaped in the same year a hundred fold in the time of famine. God’s leading puts you above all prevailing circumstances and situations. There is no nation without legitimately rich people and there is no nation without people in squalor, wallowing in poverty. So it is not the place, behind the events of the life of a believer is His leading not the place. Church Gist. The ignorance of God’s ways can be costly. Jeremiah 2:14-17. “No, I am not taking that. I know where it is happening now, it is China so I am going there.” Forces of hell come and begin to harass you because you are off His leading. The shepherd is absent, the wolves have a field day. Isaiah 30:1-3. Ignorance of God’s ways can be costly. Allow God to lead your way. Proverbs 16:13.
God has made available to us the ultimate guidebook of life called the Bible. Deuteronomy 28:1-13. There is enough in this book to get anyone to the topmost top in life. All in this book. So hearken to what is in this book and align with what it says. Jesus said to Martha, Mary has chosen that good thing that shall not be taken away from here. The good thing of waiting on God for His Word to know what step to take and where to go. Church Gist. 2 Timothy 3:16-17. Its warnings, reproofs, corrections are profitable. Every part of the Word is to add profit to our lives. It is to make our lives profitable. Anyone you reject, you lose the profit it carries.
What Makes The Bible A Most Reliable Guide?
- The Bible Contains The Light Of Life
John 1:1-5. God’s Word contains the light of life. That means it directs on the way to go in all areas of life. Acts 5:20. The light of life in the Bible impacts on our spiritual life, our business and career, our family life, on our health. The light of life showing the way to go. In the book lies the light of life. John 1:5. We draw from this book the light of life. It shows us which way to go, which steps to take. I asked the Lord when He told me to go into full time ministry, “Lord who pays me?” because to beg I am not cultured for that. I was sincere. Every sincere question has an answer with Jesus. Who pays me? Suddenly the Word came, “After these things, I appointed 70 others also.” Appointed! The labourer appointed is worthy of his wages. Church Gist. So He said to me, “You are in my employment. I am responsible, just stay on duty.” Light of life. I have not looked for who pays me till I go to heaven tomorrow. Light of life! We have never prayed for what to eat in my family, the light of life. The five loaves and two fishes were more than enough. I never cornered church money of ₦1 to my side. The light of life. It is so important. It shows the way to go.
I asked the Lord what is your purpose for marriage and he took me through seven lines and I stood up and said Ye! I am set for hitchfree marriage. It has been hitch free all these years. The light of life! It is in the book. Church Gist. Why is this Church not growing? He took me through the lines on four points that will grow a Church in the desert. The light of life is in the book. Reach out for the light. You have been entertained by the stories long enough, reach out for the light.
What Makes The Bible A Most Reliable Guide?
- The Bible Contains The Spirit Of Life
John 6:63. Isaiah 34:16. We encounter the Spirit of life from the Word. He does not only show us, He empowers us to engage with what He shows us by the Spirit of life. Ezekiel 2:2 – The Spirit entered into me. So there is the Spirit of God in the book. As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. So the Spirit of God is in the Word. So He led me to Matthew 6:33 and it exploded in my life and it is still adding value to me till tomorrow. Church Gist. He led me to the fact that He speaks and He has continued to speak to me 48 years running non stop. The Spirit of God is in the Word. He enters into us to make us stand on our feet to engage what He shows us. It is the light of life. He is also the Spirit of life that keeps us going. I like you to be very sensitive this month because this will mark the end of your struggles as you allow God to lead the way, it will be smiles all the way. - The Voice Of God Is In The Book
Psalm 29:3-9. The waters here implies the Word of God. Ephesians 5:26. Isaiah 55:1, 10-11. The voice of the Lord is upon the waters. The Almighty thunders from the Word. ‘Hey, that is me talking. Attention!” I was searching scriptures and I saw Deuteronomy 15:6. So I stood up and made a covenant against borrowing. 4th October 1981. I am borrowing free. The ministry is not owing anyone. I am not owing anyone living or dead. The Almighty thundereth. The voice of the Lord that guides the way forward is in the book. Hebrews 1:1-3. God has spoken to us by His son and His son is the Word. Church Gist. John 1:1-3, 14. The Word is Jesus and He is speaking to us by His Word today. The voice of the Lord that guides and directs is in His Word. This is what makes the Word the creator’s manual for profitable living. Isaiah 48:17-18. Stop doing ‘yanga’ to God. You are the one to pay for it. Hearken to my commandments and your peace will be like a river. Don’t hearken, you go to dry season.
Engaging with the instructions of scriptures makes wise and will make a star of any believer. 2 Peter 1:19-21. Take heed to it, your daystar will arise in your heart and will begin to find expression on the outside. Take heed unto it as unto a light that shines in darkness until the day dawns, not overnight. The daystar arises in your heart. Church Gist. There is a star inside you but it will rise as you take heed to commandment of scriptures. Revelation 22:16-17. John 17:18. There is a star in you at redemption, all you need to do is take heed to the Word until the day dawns and the daystar arises in your heart. It is already in your heart, it needs to rise and you prompt the rising by responding to His Word.
I remember the Lord said to me and very clearly by the voice of God from the Word, Deuteronomy 28:1. The voice of His Majesty came through “My son, there is a place for you on top if you are interested.” I said I am interested. “Then whatever I tell you to do, do it.” It is there but there is a way there. Whatever I tell you to do, do it. That is why whatever God says is convenient for me, delightsome to me. My views notwithstanding, what He says rules my life. This manual delivers under all circumstances, equal or unequal. Whatever this book says stands the test of time prevailing economic, social or political circumstances notwithstanding. Prevailing circumstances notwithstanding, it will stand the test of time any day, any time, any where. Matthew 24:35. Jeremiah 33:20-21. It is standing, you can’t shift it. No gang up of hell can tamper with it. No other platform on earth guarantees that but the covenant does.
What Are The Commandments For Being Led?
- Be Born Again
John 1:12, Romans 8:14. You can’t lead the dead. The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus. Church Gist. Romans 6:23. Until one is born again, he has no life in him. So he can’t be led. 1 John 5:11-12. One must be born again to access divine guidance. - Be Clothed With Meekness
Psalm 25:9. Matthew 11:28-29. Amos 3:3. You can’t locate the way forward without possessing a meek spirit. Christ was guided every step of the way. John 5:30. There was a man by name Moses, he was said to be very meek above everybody on the face of the earth. Numbers 12:3. Church Gist. You find God speaking to him per second. It takes meekness to be guided. A meek and a quiet spirit is of a great price in our spiritual journey. 1 Peter 3:4. Please let go of pride, it always goes before destruction.
How does the Bible guide the believer?
- The Word shows the right way to go in every aspect of life.
Get to the Bible to seek direction, not just information. 1 Corinthians 10:13. There is always a way out, go to the Bible to check out on the way out. I saw prosperity in raw display in the life of Kenneth Copeland and I said to myself, “I have not found this thing, I need to find it.” Church Gist. So I had a three day time out with two of their books: The Law of Prosperity and God’s Will is Prosperity and I came back with a discovery of a lifetime. Get back to the Word, the answer is there to any question you may have in life. Get back to the Word to find the answer. - The Word reproofs and corrects to keep us on track.
2 Timothy 3:17. We have the principles of the Word to redirect our thinking. We have the reproofs of the Word to take caution on things that may destroy us. We have the corrections of the Word to get on track in our journey. We have the instructions of the Word to keep going without crisis. The road traffic signs are not your enemy, they are your friends to protect you and I from death. ‘Narrow Bridge In Front, Slow Down!’ You say no, you find yourself in the river. Bumps Ahead. Church Gist. You said no, you spoil your car. Proverbs 4:13. Take fast hold of instructions. It is a book of instructions not admonitions. Not “This is my idea, you can take it if you feel like.” I like you to therefore see this book as the master guide of your life. It will make a lot of difference. It is okay for children to be telling the stories of the Bible but it is not okay for you and I. Children are fascinated by stories, that’s okay. We are to explore the principles of scripture. Respond to the warnings of scriptures, embrace the corrections and hold fast to the instructions of scriptures to make our way through.
Matthew 6:33 is the control room of my life. I have not had the first regret of doing so. He is adding what others are dying for to my life day and night. Instructions! I am going to empower you for wealth on the basis of my Covenant, not your idea. Deuteronomy 8:18. I saw that, I embraced it, away from poverty for eternity. Church Gist. When you feel too big for the instruction of scriptures, God have mercy. Jesus, help me to keep embracing the directions of scriptures, the guidance of scriptures in my journey in life. Help me not to despise your instructions but hold fast to them for that is where my life is.
Today is our Covenant Day of Rescue. Hebrews 2:3. Our great salvation is our great escape from the Kingdom of darkness where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth. By redemption we are translated from the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of His own dear son. The kingdom of weeping and gnashing of teeth to the Kingdom of laughter upon laughter. Salvation is the master key to our rescue. Every child of God is a child of light because like begets like. 1 John 1:5. Church Gist. We are sons and daughters of God and because like begets like, so we are light. Ephesians 5:8. When you become a child of God, you become a child of light. Can darkness stop the way against light? It is not enough to be a child of light, it is important to be walking in the light of His Word. You can’t be walking in the light and be harassed by the powers of darkness. This is why we cannot be held hostage by the power of darkness as we put on the armour of light. That light shines in darkness and darkness can’t stand in its way. John 1:5.
Romans 13:12. You move into a warfront with the armour of light, darkness is clearing the way otherwise it will stop being darkness forever. Put on the armour of light. Be armed with scriptures that establish your dominion over the powers of darkness. A woman came our way who is also a minister of the gospel but was being molested every night by one demonic force. It will come to the room and land on her. I said I am going to give you three tablets. I gave her three scriptures that guarantee her sweet sleep. Church Gist. When that force came that night, the Word was alive in her. It was suspended in the air, the world of darkness. Our escape is guaranteed by light. When Christ, the light of the world, walked here, the powers of darkness could not stand in his way. Luke 4:34. Darkness can’t stand the way of light. That’s Jesus the light of the world. Luke 8:28. Light is the one that torments darkness, not the other way. Not powers of darkness tormenting you. Walking in the light keeps the powers of darkness under your feet. The days of harassment of the powers of darkness in your life are over finally.
Access to light is the only way to be set free from the assault of the powers of darkness. Isaiah 60:1-3. You dominate the world of darkness walking in the light. Satan came against Jesus and you find him saying “It is written” “It is written”. You can put a stop to the harassment of the powers of darkness on your life by being armed with “it is written”. Going forth with faith, it is written. The entrance of His Word is what gives light. Psalm 119:130. Church Gist. The entrance, not the reading. I therefore pray for continuous entrance of the Word into our various hearts. Like we all know, the dominion of light over darkness is unquestionable. You turn on the light in your room, darkness flees. No argument, no contentions, no debate. From now I see the powers of darkness clearing the way from you.
I told you about an experience I had years ago, this witch said anytime they want to suck blood, they get on the highway and cause the vehicle passing to somersault and suck the blood of the victims. I said wait a minute, what about when people like us are coming? She said when we sense a higher power on the way, we clear off the highway. You are in that class where the powers of darkness will be clearing the way when you are coming. Church Gist. One day I was going to town and around Oju Ore, I saw a mad man walking majestically on the road. They were telling him to clear but he refused. Then a trailer was coming, when the trailer revved the throttle, he jumped. Madness knows death. So I was writing in my note on my encounter with madness and death. Have you seen a mad man walk into fire? He is not that mad. When you go forth as a burning and a shining light, evil will clear off your path. You have escaped.
You must be armed with “it is written” from the depth of your heart. It is written. Being children of God is not enough, we must keep walking in the light to be rescued from the scourge of the powers of darkness. John 12:35. As you catch the light, jump in. You need promptness to maximize our access to light. Prompt response. You respond promptly, you are dragging. That became my lifestyle a long time ago. When I saw “thou shall not borrow” I entered a covenant and I wrote it down. I am satisfied with my level per time. I am not running another man’s race.
The Spirit of God does not only empower us for triumphant living but also enlightens us to stay free from all assaults of the power of the enemy. He leads us in the way to triumph and victory but that is not the only way, He also empowers us with the light that keeps us above the harassment of the forces of darkness. The Holy Spirit does not only empower us to be effective witnesses for Christ but also enlightens us to remain steadfast in serving God. Matthew 24:45-47. To stay on, we need light. Paul said “By the help of the Lord, I continue till this day.” We need light. 1 Corinthians 15:58. As much as ye know. Church Gist. You can’t be any more steadfast than you know. Light empowers our continuity in stewardship until the day dawns and the Daystar arises in our heart. Therefore, for every captive child of God, there is hope. Because the price for our escape has been fully paid at the Cross. I decree an end to every form of captivity in this house. Be set free in the name of Jesus.
Like mentioned earlier, the key to our escape is salvation. Ensure you are saved and you stay saved. Yesterday’s salvation has no relevance today. Ensure you are saved. I was up there before, that holds no water. When your light goes off, darkness must come in. Ensure you stay saved.
The big question is can one be in bondage and not know? Of course, yes. He will just take it as part of life. Isaiah 42:25. Many are in bondage without recognising that they are in bondage. They just think it is an experience of life. Church Gist. No! It is bondage. Whatever holds you bound is bondage. Whatever does not let you express your redemptive right is bondage. The good news is you are free at last.
Isaiah 49:24-26. God is taking over your battle today to secure your escape forever. So it is for the children, are you a child of God? God said I will feed those that oppress you with their own flesh. I will make them drunk with their own blood. They must know I am your Saviour and your redeemer. Isaiah 54:15. Church Gist. Every gang up against your destiny falls down for your sake. Isaiah 54:17. So it is our heritage to condemn whatever is holding us down for God to confirm it. Therefore this morning, everything holding anyone down is declared condemned. God will step in to confirm and your freedom will be established.
Psalm 126:6. It takes joy and rejoicing to take delivery of your harvest of rewards. He that goes forth weeping, bearing precious seed like we did shall doubtless come with rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves with them. They call it the joy of harvest. Don’t ever let go of your joy. The only way to secure your harvest of rewards is to remain joyful. Joel 1:12. Remain joyful! Psalm 67:7. Ensure your joy remains intact. Turn on your music if you can’t sing to yourself and dance your dance because your reward is sure. Church Gist. He said sing oh barren. Why? The fruit of the womb is in your singing. It is part of your right of serving God the way you did. The only way to secure your harvest is to maintain your joy in the Lord and you never lack your testimonies.
