At the Covenant Day Of Financial Fortune Service, Bishop Oyedepo spoke about the ignorance of the Church in the past concerning prosperity, he said “I knew the Church we met when we got saved. It was a poverty adoring Church. They thought the poorer you are, the more righteous you are. Riches was hated even though it was our inheritance. Church Gist. There were cars you drove that time, they know you are not saved. Driving that kind of car means you are not saved. There was a time we were swimming in sickness and diseases and thinking God was teaching us lessons. The challenges of life anchors on the ignorance of the believer. It is when light comes that darkness gives way.”
Speaking further, he emphasized that “If you drive an air conditioned car, they think you are lost and now we are having air-conditioned churches. How? Light has come. Darkness has parted ways. In the same vein, everything that used to be down in your life will start looking up. That is the siege of ignorance. It can be very tormenting. “My people have gone into captivity because they have no knowledge”. They are a peculiar people, a royal priesthood but they have gone into captivity because they have no knowledge.”
