– Dr. Pastor Paul Enenche on “THE FIRE OF REVIVAL” || North America Revival Fire Conference – Day 3 (Evening Session) || Houston, Texas.
I’m going quickly charge us on the subject of “THE FIRE OF REVIVAL”. Exodus 3:1-5. Church Gist. Our objective tonight is to understand the character or the characteristics of people on fire – the man or the woman of God on fire; and also to understand the secret of the fire.
By way of introduction, I want to let us know, that in order for God to set a generation on fire, He will first set a man on fire. Church Gist. He sets people on fire and uses the people he sets on fire to set a generation on fire. We have many examples.
1. First of all, we saw Moses just now. Before God sent Moses to set Israel on fire and bring them out of Egypt, He gave Moses a fire encounter.
2. Elijah. Elijah essentially was a Prophet on fire, he operated in what I call the Prophetic mantle of fire. Church Gist. Everytime Elijah was confronted, he called down the fire because that was his realm. 2 Kings 1:10,12. 1 Kings 18:24-25.
So, Moses was a man on fire to set his generation on fire, Elijah was a man on fire to set his generation on fire.
– I believe there’s somebody here tonight that God is about to set on fire that would set his or her generation on fire.
3. Ezekiel. Ezekiel 3:14. God literally baptized Ezekiel with a holy anger and a fiery spirit in order to set the captives of Judah free.
4. Jeremiah. Jeremiah 20:9.
– there’s somebody here tonight that is going to have fire in the bones and you’re going to chase the devil back to hell!
If Moses was a Prophet on fire, Elijah was a Prophet on fire, Ezekiel was a Prophet on fire, Jeremiah was a Prophet on fire, even Isaiah. Church Gist. In the year that king Uzziah died, when he entered into the temple and saw the Lord, it was a life coal of fire that was used to anoint his tongue and lips before he could proceed into preaching and ministering. He had a fire encounter. Isaiah 6:1-9. Church Gist. Before he stepped into ministry, he had a fire encounter, God literally set him on fire in order for him to set his world on fire.
Listen to me my brother and sisters, the spirit of man is highly inflammable. Church Gist. It’s a flammable material and that is why God is here tonight to set that spirit on fire and chase the devil back to hell!
– if you’re set for the fire, shout, ‘fire!’
John the Baptist. John 5:35. He was a man on fire. After John the Baptist, the next person that came was called Jesus Christ. He was fire-personified. Do you know what John the Baptist said? He said, “I baptize you with water. I am standing in this river of Jordan and dipping you into this water and bringing you out but there’s someone coming after me that is mightier than me. He is going to baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire”. Church Gist. Do you know the meaning of that? He would dip you inside fire and send you to your generation so you can set your generation on fire. No wonder on the day of Pentecost, there came the sound of a rushing mighty wind and flaming tongues as of fire sat upon their heads and he sent them out and He said, “these are the men that turn the world upside down”. Church Gist. When John baptized you, your cloth was wet with water, when Jesus baptizes you, your cloth and body is dripping with fire.
– There are people that are leaving here tonight with their bodies and clothes dripping with fire. Your eyes, ears, hands and feet like fire!
– There are children, young men and women that will carry fire here tonight. There are Pastors, when you return back to your Church on Sunday, the congregation will look at you and they will say, “Pastor, we don’t know where you’re coming from but there’s something different. We can feel the fire, the anointing and the heat”.
Let me ask you a question. If Moses needed a fire to function and Elijah needed a fire to function, Jeremiah needed a fire to function and Isaiah needed a fire to function and Ezekiel needed a fire to function and John the Baptist needed a fire to function and Jesus needed a fire to function and the Apostles needed a fire to function and Almighty God said, “I am the Consuming Fire”, it means He lives in the realm of fire. Church Gist. Question is, how do you want to function in life, ministry and succeed in your destiny without fire? When He said He maketh His Angels spirits and His servants a flaming fire, Psalm 104:4. When he said, not slothful in business, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. You’re not permitted to serve the Lord until you carry fire in your spirit. Church Gist. The only way it can be confirmed that this conference succeeded is when you leave here and demons begin to cry out because they feel fire and the territorial principality of the community, city and the state where you have come from will recognize that you have returned with something.
We are going to pray right now and you’re going to pray your heart out, “Lord, I refuse fireless operation. I refuse to exist without fire”. Church Gist. We live in a very dangerous world where you confront witches, wizards and occultists everyday, psychics and star gazers, every devil in hell, they want you to fail. You can’t dwell without fire.
When David was confronting Goliath, as mighty as Goliath was, he was still relying on his gods. Church Gist. As powerful as Goliath was, with all the weapons he carried, the Bible said, “he cursed David in the name of his gods”. That is, “see, you’re coming with me physically but I take this battle into the spiritual. I have all the physical weapons but I am not going to depend on the physical weapons. Church Gist. You’re a tiny boy coming to dare me, I don’t know what you’re trusting in but I’m going to take the battle spiritual”.
Many of you are doing things purely physically and your opposition is dealing with you spiritually. Church Gist. When they brought down Samson, the Bible said the Philistines went to the house of their gods and began to praise gods who delivered Samson into their hands. The meaning of that is that they have been doing a lot of enchantment regarding Samson and when they succeeded, they had to go and thank the altar that delivered Samson into their hands. Church Gist. Stop relying on your gifts, talents and physical beauty, there are very deep spiritual things that go on.
When Haman wanted to execute the Jews, the Bible said he went before the oracle and consulted the oracle for 12 months to determine the effective date for implementation. Church Gist. You know what blew my mind? When the Philistines saw that David was anointed, they came for him. 2 Samuel 5. They began to look for David because new levels attract new devils. Church Gist. But that is not what bothered me, when they came for David, David inquired of God and God said, “go after them and deal with them”. When David finished with the Philistines, they came back again. God said, “don’t go out as other times but when you hear the sound of footsteps on the top of trees”. It means Jehovah is the one walking through the treetops and has gone in front of you. He said, “then you would know that I have gone ahead of you” and David went and finished with them. Church Gist. Do you know what shocked me? Then, David gathered their idols that they brought to the battle field. They did not come with machine guns, they came with altars. And he burnt them. Most times, you’re doing just physical things, innocent things against people that are not innocent and people who are deep in the realm of the spirit. Church Gist. That is why some people hate you and hate your God and they are wondering, “what is this?” They are deep on the other side, that is why you need the fire.
When a man is on fire, I will give you 7 things that would characterize his life and then we shall pray? Why do I need the fire? Church Gist. What is the fire doing for me? What is the character of the man or woman of fire?
1. Men and women of fire are spiritually intense and vibrant. They have high spiritual intensity – prayer life is intense, study of the Word is intense, evangelism is intense. Church Gist. One small boy met me this afternoon and he said, “Pastor pray for me so I can have three times the anointing you carry”. I said, “I have fasted before for 500 days, so get ready to fast for 500 days times three for a start”. He looked at me with his eyes open, shocked. So, you can’t ask for three times the anointing without paying three times the price. Church Gist. Don’t ask for the mantle if you’re not ready to deal with the battles that usher you into the mantle. But the fire would give you spiritual intensity. One day, I was fasting, no food at all, only water for many days. I only stopped because I was looking so terrible, haggard and dry. It came to a point where I could not almost go out anymore, “are you okay? Is everything alright?” I am not telling you to go and do that, do whatever is at the level of your grace and then you do it gradually. Church Gist. That didn’t happen in one day, it started gradually. My first 3 days dry fasting happened 44 years ago. Spiritually intense. Spiritual exercise becomes natural. Worship becomes effortlessly, study of the Word, effortles; prayer life like water.
2. Automotivation. Fierce enthusiasm. You’re auto-motivated and fiercely enthusiastic. Do you know the meaning of that? Church Gist. You’re not permanently looking for encouragement to be excited, happy or to continue. It’s like an auto drive. Listen to me, discouragement may attempt to come but they have no capacity to stay. It is like a housefly that mistakenly attempts to perch on a hot stove. If it landed by accident, it flies by consciousness. Church Gist. There are some people, they just go up and down and say, “I’m discouraged, I can’t continue anymore, I’m tired of ministry and life. I’m tired of this and that”, it’s because there’s fire lacking. You know in medicine, when there’s low sodium in the blood, hyponatremia, low potassium, hypokalemia, when there’s low fire, hypofiremia (laughs) and it needs treatment.
– every demon of discouragement and hopelessness, every demon that is making you to try to give up all the time, today, the fire of Holy Spirit shall take them back to hell!
3. They are fearless and daring. They are the Elijah order of people. Fire men and women confront what others avoid. Church Gist. They dare what ordinary people dread. They are strangers to fear, they thrive in the arena of risk. They are at home in front of danger. “Who is this uncircumcised Philistine?” Church Gist. They speak about what others are silent on because there’s something driving them and because they are running on something. That is why we need fire.
Preachers and speakers are plenty but the fire men and women are few, they are scarce and in short supply. Church Gist. When a man is on fire, people may be afraid for you but you’re not afraid for yourself. Sometime ago, somebody asked whether I was afraid of certain things concerning certain things and I told them, “I am not afraid of Satan the devil, is it his agents that I will fear?” Like they say in Nigeria, “I no fear devil, na person I go fear?” You’re not trying to pretend, you’re just natural in fearlessness. Church Gist. When the lion roars, it’s not pretending, it is inside it. The lion is not trying to act, it’s the strongest among the beasts and the Bible said, “it turneth not away from anything”. When the fire comes on you, it destroys your vegetable and chicken heart. You can dare the druglords and the gangster kingpins. Church Gist. You can confront them in the realm of the spirits and where necessary, in the realm of the physical. We need this fearlessness otherwise a generation can sink in the hands of a devil. Church Gist. Imagine no Elijah on the scene, no fearless Elijah who could dare Jezebel and the prophets of Baal, the whole land would have gone into destruction.
Some of you, the fearlessness you need is to confront the devils of your father’s house, the demons of your family and the altars of your community.

4. Fire people are restless and urgent. Firefulness is restlessness. Once we talk about a man or woman on fire, just remember the character of fire itself – restless and urgent. Church Gist. They possess a very high degree of restlessness and urgency. They don’t dwell in the realm of procrastination and indecision. For ordinary people, the distance between the idea and the action is large. Church Gist. For fire people, the distance between the inspiration and the idea, once they are sure that this is God, the distance between that idea and the action is almost zero. They make their inspiration and idea become history in a hurry. There are times you’re flying and the Lord said something and you call whoever is responsible for that assignment, “now, let this get ready in a hurry”. Church Gist. I am here now but instructions are going on at home of several things that must be in place and must happen, things that cannot wait for us to return. Whenever you’re given to procrastination, you delay too much, what is lacking is fire. Am I communicating at all? Church Gist. Fire men and women are no time wasters and they have no time for wasters. They don’t have time wasters in their space. I have hung around one or two people who were time wasters. I thought that we had the same thought process and mentality but I didn’t know it was not the same and I vowed never to allow time wasters any input into my life and destiny.

One day, the Lord told me, when we were looking for the land to build the Church, the current Glory Dome, then we had properties here and there, hundreds of acres but when we couldn’t find the place where we thought we should and we were already about to move in one of those directions far from the city, I went to God and the Lord said, “remember where I showed you”. Church Gist. God had shown me in the vision of the night, taking me to the site with a landmark and showed us where our land was – big expanse of land, hundreds probably of acres. I got up in the morning and I sent immediately for a property agent in our Church. Church Gist. I said, “Come, when you’re going to the International Airport in Abuja, when you come to so and so place, look right, our Church property is there. Go on your knees”. I took the bowl of oil, anointed him and said, “go and find the property and come”. Under 7 days he was back and said , “I have found the place. They have over 500 hectares to sell and they are ready to sell as much as we can buy”. I didn’t say, “come back tomorrow”, I said, “let’s go”. Church Gist. We moved there on the spot and I looked at the place and said, “this is the place. How much is it?” When they told us the price, it was not in the provision or the account but provided it was in the vision, it brought the provision. Am I communicating at all?
– today, every demon of delay that has kept your life where it has been, the fire or the Holy Ghost is coming upon you and moving you out of that delay now!
5. Fire men and women are impactful and influential. What I mean is, you can’t come around them and claim that nothing happened to you. Church Gist. To stay around the fire place is to be warmed or heated up by the fire. Church Gist. A man or woman carry high impartational capacity, something from you jumps on others. There is ease of transfer. There are many Pastors, some of these guys here who came close and things dropped on them. I’ve seen Pastors who came around, all of a sudden, life and ministry shifted. I’m not telling you to impress you, I’m telling you that what is coming upon you tonight would make people who come around you to catch something in a hurry. Church Gist. Your life, you become an extension, people that carry the grace on you are everywhere.
I’ve seen a lot of people who have some graces or anointing and nobody around them reflects anything and you’re wondering how can there be an anointing here and there’s nobody that looks like this man here.
– it’s coming on you!
– lift up your right hand, say, “Father, make me a fire that warms up my generation!”
When people who are discouraged come around you, they are encouraged. When people who are down come around you, they are pulled up. Church Gist. When people who struggle to pray come around you, they just look at you and something inside them wants to pray because you’re a fire that generates heat, you warm and heat people up.
6. The man and woman of fire is appealing and attractive. Something about you commands attention and compels audience. Church Gist. I don’t know about America here but in Africa and some of the places, when an automobile begins to burn on the highway or something, people just arrive, the fire service and all of that and even other people arrive to see what they can do. Fire does not need publicity, it is self-publicized. Church Gist. When a Church and a Pastor is on, they are self-publicized. When a man or woman is on fire, it’s a city set on a hill that can’t be hid. People that others look for, look for you.
John Wesley said, “I set myself on fire and people come to watch me burn”. I tell you tonight, somebody’s ministry and destiny is coming on fire!
One day, we went to the country of Czech Republic. We didn’t go there for a Church program, we just went there, myself and my wife, to Prague. Church Gist. A man said, “how can you come to a place like this without a program?” I told him, I said, “how can we do program without publicity?” He said, “No. The way you are, you don’t need any publicity”. I’m talking of almost 7-10 years ago. I said, “really?” He said, “yeah”. I said, “okay. Go on ahead”. You know what happened? When we came to the venue of the meeting that night, there was no space in the hall. My wife, myself and one man were the only Afticans there. Filled all the way outside. Church Gist. That day, it dawned on me that fire carries automatic publicity. People were healed, delivered and liberated. No fliers, no billboards, no radio or television publicity, under 24 hours. Church Gist. That’s why there’s no reason why stadiums in America and anywhere in the world will not be filled. No reason.

7. People of fire are dangerous and destructive to the Kingdom of darkness. Demonic people, satanic altars and agents are unsafe in the company of the man of fire. Church Gist. Evil altars are unsafe, prophets of Baal are unsafe when a man carries fire. Evil can continue to thrive when that man or woman is not there but not after he has arrived. The witch that tried to bewitch gets de-witched. It came to bewitch you and you de-witched him. You know what it means to de-witch? It lost witchcraft power, it can’t fly or hurt anybody anymore. Church Gist. You’re not interested in the death of anybody but when the fly is not careful and decides that the best place to play is on the top of the stove that is hot, then that fly is on a suicide mission.
When a man jumps into the track of a fast moving train, it means, he says, “Lord, take my spirit”. There’s something we call ‘hugging transformer’. Church Gist. Can I tell you a story? There’s a young man in our Church, he’s a property agent. He made some money, went to his community, made portable drinking water available through boreholes, built a house for his father and mother. That community, a bad community with a lot of witchcraft power. There was a particular man there who hated everything good. So, if you built a house or did something that was good or progressive, through wicked demonic powers, he would afflict the people and cause them death. Church Gist. So, this young man went to his community to commission the borehole portable water that he did. While he was talking with his parents, that wicked man sent to him that he was coming to greet him and that kind of thing was a bad sign. The mother began to cry, that anyone this man shook hands or greeted was going to die. The father said, “just return back to Abuja”. The young man said, “I’m not going anywhere, I know where I’m coming from”. Church Gist. One of the days, before this time, I had met this young man in a meeting and I hugged him (and exchanged pleasantries). The young man remembered the dress he wore when I hugged him, so, when this wicked wizard was coming to him, he wore that dress. It was a mantle he wore. So, he said, let the man come in, I will like to see him. Then, the man came and said, “how are you?” The man brought out his hand to greet him. He told the man, “no, I don’t need the hand, I want to hug you”. Church Gist. He hugged the man and the man returned back to his house and something began to happen. The man called his family and said, “family, I just made a terrible mistake”. He slept that night and never got up in the morning. He hugged electric transformer. Church Gist. He hugged fire. He wanted to kill fire, fire killed him. We need this fire because the world is so wicked.
Do you have people in America here also in some offices that have some wicked powers that you can’t understand? And you’re wondering, “what am I facing?” Even your employees who want you dead and take over your business. Fire hugs. Church Gist. Somebody get ready tonight. There are three things that you need for the fire.
1. Desperation, “I need this fire. I can’t continue life as usual”.
2. Revelation. Jeremiah said, “His Word was fire in my bones”. You’re already under revelation here tonight that can make a fire to burn in your bones.
3. Impartation. Which is what we are here for. You hang around fire, you catch fire. Iron sharpeneth iron, fire begets fire. Church Gist. “When they saw the boldness of Peter and John, they took knowledge of them that they had been with the Master”. We have been together here this week, something of what I carry, something of what this mantle carries, a fire dimension is about to come upon your life!
