Church Growth Conference,2022 (Part 2).
Don’t come for Church Growth thinking it is only notes you will take, what is making them grow here? Find out and observe because it is not everything they teach you. They pray at 6 am, so I entered a 6 am pattern too but it didn’t work. So I asked God it is the same prayer but how do I apply it? He said I shift your own to break time. So we pray every day at break time and the crowd is unprecedented. Church Gist. So don’t just copy something without asking the Holy Spirit because if you sell Amala in the East it won’t sell. The environment where I am is volatile because of kidnapping so the afternoon was more productive. The principle is the same but the application is different.
- Soul Winning/ Preservation
The primary task of every pastor is soul winning. You must have passion for souls if you want to experience growth. Passion for souls is what drives one tirelessly for accomplishment. Luke 19:10, John 4:34. Jesus our perfect example was passionately consumed with expanding the kingdom through soul winning. Church Gist. Your passion will always move you to your heart’s desire. If you desire to see the kingdom expand, then soul winning will be a major pursuit of your life. Passion for souls is the greatest of all that we can possess and pursue.
2 Peter 3:9, Luke 14:23.
Preaching on the altar is not soul winning. You must go out for soul winning. One day I was meditating and God said to me “the people that come for altar call after preaching are not your souls because people brought them”. It is the one you go out for that are your own souls. It cannot be accounted for you. Church Gist. That you made an altar call does not make them your soul. It is the one you step on the street and say Jesus loves you that is your soul. He said go ye into the world and preach, He didn’t say stand behind the pulpit. Lead by example, go for soul winning and the congregation will follow suit.
Matthew 28:19.
The pulpit is secondary, our primary is to go out and win souls. Many go for soul winning but the major challenge is the preservation of souls and follow up. After conferences like this many will go all out for souls, you find out that you preach to 500 people but at the end of the day you are not able to hold up to 5. Church Gist. The challenge for Pastors has never been to win souls, the challenge has been the preservation of souls won because even the congregation don’t know how to follow up and preserve the souls won. The real work has always been with follow up and preservation of souls. Soul winning is good but the real work is preservation and follow up.
John 15:16
Every wise farmer considers the art of preservation very vital because it is what ensures productivity, progress and makes harvest evidential. Soul winning brings them while preservation makes them rooted. When souls are preserved the growth is constant. Church Gist. 2 John 1:8. We must pay more attention to visitation and follow up. Acts 15:36. Soul preservation is the only way our joy may be full. John 17:9-12.
- Every soul we win from today shall not be lost.
Praying for them to abide will ward off unprofitable labour in soul winning. Any Saturday there is soul winning, the attendance the following Sunday will skyrocket but next week it will drop because emphasis has never been laid on follow up. John 18:9, 1 Corinthians 15:58. So we pray to resist Satan from taking advantage of them. We pray to also become fruit bearing Jeremiah 12:2. Every one of the disciples because they were rooted with Christ, it was easy for them to affect another sheep.
Cell Structure is what helps preservation.
Anytime I see my father, God says to me my son you need to be on your toes because if he is not at rest why will you rest now. So last Friday I was in a crusade and I saw a herd of souls before I could say Jesus loves you, they were running, coming. He said don’t make altar call, the Holy Spirit is the only one that can bring souls. Every word is encapsulated by the Holy Ghost, without that if you speak English, it will not have power. Church Gist. All scripture is given by the Holy Ghost. So if you are not conscious of His personality, it will not produce. He is the one that enveloped the word and the Word became flesh. Everyone must know how to get divine signals. If not you will struggle to make altar calls, many of us struggle to make altar calls. Is that not true? You say Jesus loves you, come out and be saved, they just stand and say “for what? What are you telling me to come and give my life to Christ, have I not been going to Church” but you can just say Jesus loves you and they start crying because the word is not your word. You must recognise him who gave you the word. If I am preaching a word given to me by my Father if I digress the word will not carry power. You must be sensitive to the leading of the Spirit of God per time. We know so much about Him but we are not conscious of Him.
If I want a specific thing, I focus my mind on the area. I want him to work. He is multidimensional, the area I focus on is where He will manifest. So when I pray in tongues, I am focusing my mind on what I want. Church Gist. So He will search for it and bring it out. I will focus on that area I want Him to do something and with ease, I get the answer. To Him, we give all the glory.
All the things I have told you is what I have learnt here if you come here and your Church does not grow, the devil is not your problem, no demon in your village is your problem. There is so much in this place has to offer you. The fire on this altar is the greatest today on earth. If you come here and do not draw anything then there is nowhere you will go to and draw anything.
