Malachi 3:17. The Lord bless His Word in Jesus’ precious name. Malachi 3:18. Hallelujah. Church Gist. The Profit of dedication is our subject tonight with the objective of understanding what it takes to serve the Lord. What does it pay to serve the Lord?
I want to start by saying that dedication to God is not just the fulfillment of religious demands or obligation. Church Gist. We are not dedicated to God, come frequently to Church and do all the things we do just for the fulfillment of a religious demand or obligation. Dedication to God attracts rewards and dividends from God. Church Gist. It attracts rewards and dividends from God. We note these 3 things based on these 3 Scriptures;
- God has not called anyone to serve Him in vain. Isaiah 45:19. God has not called anyone to serve Him or seek Him in vain.
- God is the rewarder of the diligent seeker. Hebrews 11:6. God is the rewarder of those who are not pretending to be serving Him. Church Gist. God is a rewarder of those who are sincere in serving Him. God is a rewarder of those who are real with Him. Those who diligently seek Him and serve Him, those who are sincere in pursuing Him and going after Him. God is rewarder.
- There is never wasted labour in the pursuit of God. Kingdom labour is not wasted labour. 1 Corinthians 15:58. Church Gist. Your labour is not in vain in the Lord, meaning I am not wasting my time following and serving God.
- somebody say after me, I am not wasting my time serving God. It pays to serve the Lord.
Very quickly, what is the profit of dedication to God?
- Life and destiny distinction. To pursue God is to stand out in life. Malachi 3:17-18. Church Gist. Existence in value, worth and excellence is the destiny of the dedicated. You live a life of value, worth and excellence if you’re dedicated. You stand out among your contemporaries, you even stand out in your family, Joseph stood out among 12 brethren. Church Gist. David stood out, the man after God’s heart, out of 8 boys, he stood out. Daniel stood out in Babylon, he was different. if we are not pursuing God at the same rate, we can’t stand out at the same level. Church Gist. Stood out. Among classmates, age mates, family members, people can stand out depending on the heart they have for God. That is life and destiny distinction. Psalm 91:14.
- that is somebody’s portion.
- Divine preservation and deliverance. You become a candidate for deliverance and rescue by God when you’re dedicated. Church Gist. Malachi 3:17-18. when you’re dedicated to God, you seize to exist as a wastable material. Dedication to God delivers you from existence as a wastable material, the devil, the witches, the wizards and the powers of the occult can’t waste you just like that. Psalm 91:14. Love for God equals deliverance of life. Isaiah 43:4-5. Church Gist There are those who get buried because they want you dead before your time, they just get buried and as I speak right now, that is happening. Anyone looking for you is looking for death. All you need is to pursue God. If you pursue God and they pursue you, death will pursue them, death will harvest them from your back. Church Gist. In the battle of Jehoshaphat, the people faced God, as they faced God, the enemies faced them, then God stepped down and made them to face each other. Nobody can successfully fight a man who faces God.

Joseph was rescued from the hands of his brethren, they put him in a pit, dedication to God made him not to be killed before his time. Church Gist. Daniel was put in a lion’s den, the lion couldn’t kill Daniel. David encountered dangers of all sources, yet he couldn’t be killed before his time because dedication to God is a preservative of life. Church Gist. What of Paul the Apostle? In fastings often, how many times he was in the dip and beaten with the road, yet he couldn’t be killed because he wasn’t a wastable material. Please, pursue God, it’ll preserve your life.
- Divine dignification and honour. God dignifies the dedicated. When you’re dedicated to God, you’re dignified and honoured by God. Isaiah 43:4. Church Gist. There’s a divine allocation of honour to Kingdom servants. There’s an allocation of dignity to the donated. When you’re donated to God, you’re dignified by God. Some people in the world like to kill themselves over this one. Proverbs 27:18. Church Gist. Wait on God, you can’t escape honour. 1 Samuel 9:6. Samuel was the one who was so dedicated that he spent his childhood in the temple, as soon as he was weaned from the breast, his mother handed him over to the temple to serve. Church Gist. 1 Samuel 16:4. A man (Samuel) stepped somewhere and people shook, that was the level of honour that Samuel carried. If God does not beg you to serve Him, you won’t beg Him to honour you.
A man of God, Billy Graham was one of those men that experienced and enjoyed honour more than any man in His generation. Church Gist. For 47 years thereabout, the World’s most important persons on the earth, he was on that list consistently every year for 40-something years. Where they’ll receive the Queen at the airport in England is where they’ll receive him. Church Gist. He walked in such honour because of his dedication to God.
Today, there are people who want to kill themselves because genuinely, authentic and dedicated servants of God are genuinely honoured, and it’s not something that they put on themselves. Church Gist. I’ve seen honour in strange airports, in Germany, everywhere around the world, where I don’t know anybody, people just rush at you because, “He that waiteth on His Master Shall be honoured”. Beloved brothers and sisters, don’t struggle for the honour of men, struggle for the honour that comes from God. Church Gist. Serve God in genuineness and let God honour and when God has honoured you, no devil can dishonour you.
- somebody say a loud Amen.
- Divine provision and supernatural supply. Psalm 35:27. Luke 22:35. Dedication by man connects with provision from God. Church Gist. God rewards the dedicated physically. The dedication of Solomon was what ushered into the realm of irrecoverable wealth. 1 Kings 3:3-4. Matthew 6:33. 1 Corinthians 2:9-10. If you love God, anywhere you are now is shadow compared to what God has in mind. Church Gist. Anyone who thinks they have seen something around where we are should just wait a little bit. Where we are is a shadow to what God has to deliver.
- say a loud Amen.
Of course, all these will happen under the covenant of supernatural supplies. Church Gist. No matter how much you fast and pray and whatever you do, if you’re not a giver, you may not escape being a beggar. Church attendance does not take the place of the practice of the covenant.
- Supernatural Revelation. Those who are dedicated to God have access to depths of revelation. 1 Corinthians 2:9-10. When you love God, you’re a candidate for deep revelation, depths of light. Church Gist. People dedicated to God swim in insight and light. Remember Moses the dedicated? In Exodus 33:18, he was telling God to show him His glory, this Moses wrote the first 5 books of the Bible; Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Deuteronomy and so on and so forth, he wrote that, why? Depth or heart for God ushered him into depths of light. Church Gist. Look at Paul the Apostle. Philippians 1:21, Galatians 2:20, 1 Corinthians 9:16. Look at the kind of way that man is hungry for God. Philippians 3:10. He just kept on hungrying for God until he came to a point where he began to swim in insights. Nobody had light like Paul, only him wrote half of the new Testament and he was not there when the other Apostles were following Jesus Christ. One day, he said, “I know a man in Christ, whether in flesh or out of the flesh, I cannot tell”, such a man was caught into the third Heavens and he heard unspeakable things which is forbidden for a man to utter. Church Gist. That is, that man heard things or saw things that he could not talk to normal human beings about. Was he not a man? Paul the Apostle went to be the Lord with revelations he did not share. Peter said that there are some things that Paul said that is hard for people to under. 2 Peter 3:15. Church Gist. What ushered him to that ream? It was love for God, passion for God, dedication to God. Whether it is revelations of the Spirit or revelations of the world, the harder you pursue God, the deeper your depth of insight in the world.
- I see somebody stepping there.
Of course you know that we fly by revelation. Isaiah 60:1. Who are these that fly? Galatians 2:2.
- Divine revitalization and productivity. You’re revitalized, renewed and strengthened. Exodus 23:25-26. Church Gist. You know what is happening? He’s saying, “if you serve me, I will give you strength, health, life and fruits. Serve me, be dedicated to me, you won’t beg for strength, you won’t beg for health, you won’t beg for your life to be prolonged and you won’t beg to bear fruit” and I am preaching this deliberately tonight because every devil that is holding back the rewards of your dedication, tonight they’re releasing them to you in the name of Jesus!
You’re not permitted to serve God and serve hypertension, you’re not permitted to be dedicated and service diabetes. Church Gist. Blocked fallopian tube is not your portion, low sperm count is not your portion, fruitlessness is not your portion in the name of Jesus! The rewards and dividends of your dedication, I declare them released right now!
Psalm 92:10-14. I saw somebody the other day and I asked him, I said, “you’re so fat recently, you used to be very lean, why are you so fat now?” He said, well, it’s not that he’s eating too much but he told somebody that the Bible said, “you shall be fat and flourishing”, so he’s fulfilling the scripture. He said, the only challenge is if you’re fat but you’re not flourishing. Church Gist. That is, you have weight but things are not working. Just before I came up just now, I showed Dr. Mrs Enenche something I saw today of a man, preacher, dancing on the altar, celebrating his 100 years birthday. That was pure fulfillment of Scripture, on his feet, with strength at age 100 but he’s now moving with some little level of “guy”.
- every affliction that wants to cut you before your time, today, your service for God shall cut it off!
- say after me, “I shall fulfill my days!”
When we pray tonight, you make demands on these dividends.
Finally;
- Generational greatness. Psalm 112:1-2. (When you’re dedicated to God) You cannot have frustrated failed children. Generational greatness, it’s a very sweet reward. Church Gist. You can’t have children of the same quality with prostitutes, you can’t have the same order of children with herbalists and armed robbers. Isaiah 61:9. That is, when the children are passing, the gentiles will say, “that is the child of one of those people; that is the son of the man; that is the daughter from that family”. Isaiah 61:9.
- somebody lift up your hands and say, “my seeds shall be known”.
Now, for anybody trusting God for seed, God already bypassed the process of seedbearing. Exodus 23:25-26. So, it’s already established that you will have the young. Church Gist. So, there’s no devil who will say to you that your seeds will not be known. - lift your hands and say after me, “Father, my seed shall be known among the gentiles. I cannot give birth to useless children, to wasted children, in the name of Jesus!”
You can stand on this Scripture to recover your wayward children, even wayward siblings, that is if your father was of God. Church Gist. You can stand on this Scripture to recover everyone among you that is not standing for God. - I announce to you today, every spell of waywardness attacking your family and your children, today, it is returned back to hell!
- say after me, ” I can’t give birth to useless and wasted children”.
If you’re a child, you can make demands on the altar of your parents’ dedication for the dignification of your destiny. My mother woke us up by 5am and poured her life on her children. Church Gist. Did everything, I mean, teach you things at the age of 5 or 7 that you thought you should be learning at the age of 20-something. Abraham couldn’t give birth to useless children. Even the child that Abraham gave birth to that is from another woman that pleaded for Mercy, Ishmael and Haggai, do you know that the nation of Dubai is from that line? I won’t get further into that. That is, the Abrahamic seed was still working on that side. Church Gist. You go to the life of David, the man after God’s heart, any King in Israel that was important was from the loins of David; Joash, Josiah, Hezekiah, Jehoshaphat, Solomon. If it was a good king, it came from David, if it was a bad king, maybe from Jeroboam. Church Gist. You look at the tribes of Levi, very great children; Aaron, Moses, all the Levites that stood with God, none was a wasted child. If you will not serve God for the sake of yourself, I beg you, serve God for the sake of your next generation.
I came across the story of the man by the name, Jonathan Edwards. Jonathan Edwards was a famous clergyman, a preacher in the 18th century. A puritan preacher, he was one of the preachers in his days. He attended Yale and later went on to become the president of Preston college. Jonathan Edwards preached the message, “sinners in the hands of an angry God” very popular message. Church Gist. The genealogy of Jonathan Edwards was traced, “let us find out what became of the seed of this righteous man, 150 years after” and this was what they found. One of them became a US vice-president, one was a dean of Law, another, a dean of a medical school, 3 US senators, 3 governors, 3 Mayors, 13 college presidents, 30 judges, 60 doctors, 65 professors, 75 military officers, 80 public office holders, 100 lawyers, 100 clergymen and 285 college graduates, that was from the lineage of one man. Church Gist. There was a contemporary of Jonathan Edwards around the same time he lived, questionable identity though but they called him Max Jukes, drunkard, lived carelessly, everything negative was how he lived. When they looked at his descendants, the same time they looked at Edwards’ descendants, this is the account; 7 murderers, 60 thieves, 190 prostitutes, 150 other convicts, 310 paupers, 440 who were physically wrecked by addiction to alcohol. Church Gist. Of the 1200 descendants that we’re studied, 300 died prematurely. See the difference? The seed of the righteous and the seed of the godless, it’s a matter of choice.
I read John G. Lake not too long ago, he said of the 400 top corporations in America, 120 of them, the heads of them were children of clergymen. Church Gist. 120 out of 400, effectively 30% were children of people whose parents carried the Bible and preached that Bible. The inventors of the airplane, the Wright brothers, Orville and Wilbur, their father was a Bishop. You can go on and on.
- look at your neighbour, say, “you’re not wasting your time, you’re not wasting your life, you’re not wasting your effort, you’re not wasting your energy. Serve God, serve Him well, be real, be true”. That is my counsel tonight;
1.Be real, be true, be sincere in your dedication to God. Don’t be fake. Be authentic.
- Be faithful, don’t do it today and relax tomorrow and do it next tomorrow. Be faithful, it is the faithful that abounds with the blessings. Proverbs 28:20. Be faithful, be reliable, be dependable. Church Gist. We knew you on fire in campus, we can’t see the fire now, what is happening? We knew you on fire when you didn’t have much money, now you have some money, the fire is gone, what is happening? Be faithful, be reliable, be dependable and all the things we just saw can be your portion.
