Father we give you the praise and we give you the honour in Jesus’ precious name.
“CREATING THE ATMOSPHERE FOR THE LORD OF HOST” (Part 2). What do we need to do in order to get God to work on our behalf and to work in our lives? Church Gist. Yesterday, we saw
- The love of God as number one condition, and then we saw,
- Faith in the possibilities of God
- Passion for the plans and purpose of God
- Death to self: John 12:23-24. The hour has come that the son of man should experience the glory of His father; but if that is to happen, the corn of wheat must fall to the ground. Isaiah 42:8. John 5:25; John 3:30. Church Gist. If we want to see the increase of God’s power, God’s anointing, God’s manifestations in our life, we must decrease in our self. The flesh, the self of man must die. I realized throughout Scripture that before anything is born, something dies.
When Moses said, ‘I beseech you, show me your glory.” Exodus 33:18-20. You know the meaning of verse 20? You can see me but be ready to die. Church Gist. You can see the fullness of me but the self in you, the ego, the pride, the arrogance, that part of you that likes to boast, must die if you want to see because God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. James 4:6; 1 Peter 5:5.
The reason why so many people are not able to see the kind of move of God that they need to see or the kind of power they need to see is because there is so much of arrogance, so much of pride, self, so much of directing people to self. Church Gist. There are many people God begins to do a little thing in their lives, and they want the whole world to worship them. And God says, “I am not trying to make another object of worship; I am the only one that is worthy to be worshipped.” So if you want men to worship you, I will leave you at that low level. There are so many people, the glory has departed – Ichabod. Church Gist. I see some people they are so arrogant, the flesh, the ostentation, if you have the gift of healing who gave it to you? 1 Corinthians 4:7 (KJV, GNT, MSG, TLB). The apostolic gift, the gift of prophecy, who gave it to you? Why do you behave as if you own it? Before Israel could become Israel, the Jacob in him had to die. Am I communicating? God asked Jacob, what is your name? He said my name is Jacob. 1 Corinthians 4:7 (KJV, GNT, MSG, TLB) that is why the power of God is not moving in our generation because of too much boastfulness, too much pride, too much arrogance, too much ostentation, too much of everything. Church Gist. God will have no struggle working if there is not a man that is struggling to take the glory. What are you so puffed up about? 1 Corinthians 4:7 (TLB).
Look at somebody and say, “Calm down. Calm all the way down.” One preacher was preaching many years ago, and he said, “God is looking for a man to use and he is looking for such a man who will not care who gets the credit and who will be careful to give the glory back to God.” Church Gist. And a shoe repairer in the congregation stood up and went to the altar. And he said, “By the grace of God, I want to be that man that will not care who gets the credit; let God take all the glory, and credit.” That shoe maker was D. L. Moody – evangelist that routed America and impacted the world.
