The Lord sent a word into Jacob, you just must endeavour to leave here with one word that will turn things around for the better in your life. Something added to what you came with, something new that you are going for after this prophetic feast. Every turning point is stirred by one encounter with one word. A word! The reason the ministry gifts teach is to bring us to their realm of faith. When we come into the unity of faith we come to the point where they are by discovering what they discovered. It was the ministry of Oswald J. Smith by his book ‘The Man God Uses’ that gave me access to that anchor of my destiny. Next to salvation, the revelation of Matthew 6:33 is the anchor of my life. It is 46 years ago. Church Gist. His word lives and abides forever. It is still intoxicating me till now. A word that is anchor in someone’s life must leave here with you. We have heard so much but what have you caught? What will you say I have caught here? Some greedy individuals like I have always been with the things of God will leave with 6. Some will leave with 7. But not to leave with one word that will be an anchor to your life, that will add colour, a new realm of value to your walk with God, then you have only come for a ceremony. Today the world is shouting Matthew 6:33, a word. Somebody must leave here with his word. When the word of Joseph came everything turned around.
Prayers: Lord, I must catch what you have for me in the remaining two services of Shiloh 2022. Would you thank Him for anything you already caught? Church Gist. That you know you caught? Not something that was taught, something you caught by yourself and you know it.
Thank you Jesus, help everyone to remain sensitive in the remaining part of this event in Jesus precious name we have prayed.
I know by now a lot of your expectations must have been turned to Thanksgiving. Church Gist. How many have received some answers to your prayers here?
I will be speaking on the time we have on my series UNVEILING THE COVENANT HIGHWAYS OF LIFE. People think that spiritual things only apply to spiritual issues. Romans 8:6. There are people today doing businesses they have no business doing because they will not be guided. There are people running out of favour in all areas because they don’t know the way to favour. There are those been buffeted by sickness and diseases. They have not learnt the way out. Spiritual things impact on all areas of life. There are those in politics today, they have no business been there. They will finish all they have done in their life and come to square one because they will not be guided. When I talk about a deliverer. I have never belonged to a party in my life. Lord send us a deliver from the North, the South, the West, the East, wherever he may be. Short or tall. Your choice! He sent them Ehud. Our sin brought us to where we found ourselves. The insatiable quest for money. They cried unto God rescue us and He sent them Ehud and the land had rest for 80 years. Church Gist. They cried to God again when they went to captivity, God sent them Othniel and the land had rest for 40 years. These are all contained in Chapter 3 of Judges. Are you the deliverer God is sending? That is the problem. Spiritual things impact on all areas of life. Deuteronomy 28:1-13. Hearken to me, it will impact on all aspects of your life. Please note that spiritual things are relevant to every aspect of human life. Acts 5:20. Everything about life is spiritual. You are a spiritual product, you may be spiritually dead but it doesn’t matter. God the Spirit gave birth to you. It impacts on all aspects of life.
So the stewardship covenant impacts on all aspects of human life. Exodus 23:25. He shall bless your bread and your water which you are running around for from pillar to post. From Brazil to Jamaica for bread. Serve the Lord, He shall bless. Not blessed with revelation. He shall bless you with practical bread. He will take sickness away from you. It impacts on all areas of life. Exodus 23:26. So serving me does not make you an established member of a church, it adds value to your life. Serving God adds value to whosoever is serving Him. Job 36:11. Does anybody want to live under pressure? Depression is uncontrolled pressure. Pressure out of control is what results in depression. Serve me I will deflate pressures off your life. Thou shall serve not thou shall pose as serving. Church Gist. Serving God is a choice, it is not a gift, it is not a calling. It is not an anointing, it is a choice people make. Joshua 24:15. Jesus made himself of no reputation. He took upon himself the form of a servant. John 10:18. So no one needs to be a prophet, an apostle or a teacher to be a servant of God. Abraham was not a preacher, He was a business emperor. Psalm 105:42. Daniel 6:43. Daniel was not a preacher but the world around him knew he was a servant of God. Job was a business topmost man. Job 1:8. He was a celebrated servant of God. You don’t have to be called into ministry to serve God, it is an open platform for all of God’s children. Hannah was a widow, 84 years old. She was serving God with prayer and fasting. It is an open-ended platform. Serving God is an open-ended platform for anyone who chooses to. Matthew 20:4. There is space for everybody. There is room for everyone. People are running after recognition, after fame. That is not where stewardship is. It is in serving God’s interest with passion, serving God’s interest with delight. Being a value-adding member of the Body of Christ. Ephesians 4:16. You are not a consumer, you are a supplier.
You are adding value to the kingdom of your Father. As we all know, when you are out of service, you are no longer a candidate for promotion. Many believers are just at one spot for life. Only men and women in service are eligible for change of story. Luke 19:17. Your position and my position will keep changing as we keep serving God in increasing dimension and increasing impact, He keeps changing our level from one level to another. When anybody retires from the Army, he leaves with the title he retired with. If he retired as a Major and he lives to be 100 years, he will remain a Major Rtd. He can’t be a Major General because he is now 100 years old. The age at which you retire is the end of moving forward in that career. When you retire from serving God, you will just be marking time. You will be living on pension. All allowance is shut down, all benefits are shut down. It is the mystery of continuous change of story. Serving God is the mystery behind continuous change of story for any believer. John 15:1-3. Every branch is ordained a fruit-bearing, value-adding branch. John 15:5. Every child of God is a branch of that vine and is ordained to be a value-adding branch or has no future. Luke 13:6-9. Existing without adding value makes people lose value with God. Find a place for yourself in the vineyard where you are adding value. You are not a bench-warming Christian, you are adding value. Matthew 20:21. Church Gist. Jesus told the mother of James and John who wanted her sons to sit beside him, they don’t pray for what you are asking for, they serve into it. It is service that defines our status. It is not prayer for change my story. Service is the platform for our continuous change of story. My prayer is that no one here shall remain a bench-warming Christian, everyone shall be turned into a value-adding member of the Body.
We have a few platforms that show that this thing is open to all.
- Praying kingdom advancement prayer is everybody’s responsibility.
Some may never know that till they go to heaven. Some may know it and will engage with it. God will reward you for your service on the prayer altar. Service on the prayer altar is rewarded. Prayer for divine intervention is answered. Matthew 6:6. God who sees in secret will reward you openly for your prayer service, not your prayer request. He rewards our prayer stewardship openly. Matthew 6:18. Imagine if every member of a church prays for a service, what will happen. Oh God let every member that comes through the door of our church miss an encounter with you. Save them, rescue them from the pit of hell. Imagine if they top that with fasting? One of our precious ones here witnessed to a woman who was a Muslim. The woman got saved and he said to the woman “I believe your house will soon become a Zonal Fellowship centre”. She said don’t touch that area, my husband is a very learned Muslim. The man went on a three day fast. It was the man who told the wife I am following you to Church this Sunday and gave his life to Christ. He used prayer to win him. Everybody “Give me” God does not reward requests. He rewards prayer service. Differentiate between prayer requests and prayer service, it will change your prayer life. Praying without ceasing will make you a beggar if you don’t know the place of prayer service. Church Gist. Some folks are challenged in your Church, you take it on as a spiritual responsibility. Ephesians 6:18. You are serving God in preserving His people. God answers prayers requests, answers questions we ask but He rewards the prayer service we render. It is time to be awake to prayer stewardship. What I am enjoying by grace are rewards of stewardship. I went from mountain to mountain in search of God for His kingdom. I can’t remember the last time I prayed to God on what I need but my spiritual needs. Open rewards, not fabricated rewards. Welcome to this new phase of your life.
- Witnessing and reaching out to the lost.
The purpose for which Jesus came is that He came to seek and to search for that which is lost. John 15:16. I have been a pastor of this church since the beginning. We have never seen a wave of divine visitation like we have seen from 2015 until date. People are just going wild for God, soul-winning everywhere. My wife was away in Atlanta one time and I just gave her a call, where are you? “I am in the park witnessing Jesus”. She went there on break. People take vacations here to go for soul-winning to reach their target. Supernatural dimension of change of stories. Things we have never heard before. Somebody died, they were praying kingdom advancement prayer and he came back to life. Soul winning is a spiritual gold mine. There is a coin in the mouth of every fish caught for Jesus. Church Gist. There is a price tag on every fish caught for Jesus. Luke 22:35. It is a ‘lack nothing’ sphere of life. It pays the unmatchable. We lack nothing because we are out on the field reaping the harvest for you. It is that ‘lack nothing’ realm God is bringing you into. My son Yemi is here, we got about 47,000 this year. My outreach team reached out to over 140,000 but we got 47,000 souls saved. The year 2022, God loves me beyond measure. You touch me. He reacts. I am an instrument that is buying into His heart as a lifestyle. Please wake up.
I got to a village at the age of 19, I said Jesus I mustn’t leave this place the way I met it. God raised a church within 40 days. I was there for 72 days. My passion to see Jesus made manifest in the place. They gave me a prophetic gift “The light you brought to our village let it shine all over the world”. It is that lantern that is still shining today. Somebody is going to hit his goldmine right after this service. Without a passion for souls you are not in love with God. God so loved the world He gave His best. What are you giving to prove your love for Him? John 15:16. It launches people into favour with God. It is a spiritual goldmine where you lack nothing. Church Gist. 1 Corinthians 2:9. John 21:15-17. Somebody said the sheep are in the church, no! Jesus said other sheep have I that are not of this fold. Them also must I bring (John 10:16). The sheep are not in the church. There are many ordained unto eternal life that are not in the church, the devil is contending to bring them in. Awesome God. Watch every true lover of Jesus, he ends up a highflier in life. It is one of the highways of life – an undying passion for souls. Somebody asked me what about security. You are in the marketplace, you are under the bridge, security? Luke 10:19. I am not guarded by the police or the military. When they hear guns they will run, it is me that won’t run. I am with them in the rice market, tomato market sharing Jesus. You won’t lack anything. I have been running crusades for Jesus before I was called into ministry. May everybody’s passion for souls come alive afresh. Church Gist. Acts 26:22. Nobody should be a CEO minister, everybody should be witnessing. If you have circumstances around you that cannot make you go from place to place by reason of age. The prayer platform is there. The invitation platform is there. The Come and See platform. You don’t need an anointing for it. Children invite other children for their birthday, you don’t need maturity for it. That Samaritan woman met Jesus and went wild to town. Come see a man! That is what we are talking about. Come see a man who changed my life. He sent his servant to go and invite them to the feast for all things are now ready. Luke 14:17-23. You keep inviting them until they respond. There are many people in our various churches around the world that people got there by being invited by another person. They were invited to come and taste and you will see that the Lord is good. How can you afford to sit down and do nothing?
- We have sanctuary services which are needed to keep everything in order.
So we have stewardship opportunities in our various churches including ushering, security, car parks. In those days there were no car parks. The churches we were designing in those days don’t have any car parks. Nobody is coming to Park a car. The bicycle that the church contributed money to buy for the pastor does not need a car park and they warned the pastor, if you misuse this bicycle you will trek. Now we have parks and gardens, crowd control units, medical services and all that. Proverbs 14:23. Church Gist. You sit down doing nothing, you go nowhere. Stagnant water stinks. Nobody here will stink. The command is occupy till I come not till you are tired. Even in old age you shall still be bringing forth fruit, how? On the prayer altar. Psalm 92:14. As long as you can eat you can pray. In the name of Jesus I release you as active value adding believers to your generation
3. Financial Stewardship
It is a platform for the rise of financial giants in the Body of Christ. Promoting the kingdom with our finances changes people’s stories in the kingdom. Deliberating so, intentionally so. Haggai 1:3-4. It is one other hidden platform we don’t know that opens the heaven over our lives just like tithing does. Haggai 1:6-10. Financial stewardship is key to the rise of financial fortune. It is key to it. If tithing opens the heaven and kingdom promotion investments open the heavens, then you have double open heavens. Double open heaven. Church Gist. My family’s fortune just turned after being led to sponsor transportation for all worshippers to Church for a year. Multi-million resulting in multi-billions. The things we have seen, heard and our hands have handled are the things we make known to you, please grab them. Start from where you are. God is not a burden to His children. He is not in need. I said we are led to, God didn’t need it. We were led to. Everybody has a place in Kingdom stewardship.
Now the question is, why is my stewardship not working? Why is my kingdom stewardship not speaking? Why am I not seeing the effect of it?
1. Your service must be born from the heart not eyeservice as men-pleasers.
Ephesians 6:6. It mustn’t be for a show.
- Our service must be love motivated. Our love for God must be the driver of our stewardship. 1 Corinthians 13:3. This is my own extremism. I love this God more than I love my wife and she knows. I love this God more than I love our children and grandchildren. What a wicked man. I love this Jesus more than I love me. I will gladly die for Him smiling. You may read all the little books I have written and listen to all the tapes out there, if you have not discovered my heart for God you have not discovered my story. My story springs out of my heartbeat for God. I love you, Jesus. I never had the opportunity or the experience of a honeymoon. I love you, Jesus. Not that I was married before and I had the experience. No! I love you, Jesus. Where are you going? Where they call me. What will they do for you there? Nothing. I am looking for what Jesus will do for them. Church Gist. Is honeymoon wrong? No! It is my priority. Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! In the morning, afternoon and night. Let your stewardship be love motivated not position motivated. Not “If I serve Him, He will change my story”. If He didn’t change anything in me, I won’t be doing less than I am doing now. I have told you before. Let your service be love motivated not reward-driven. He knows what to do with you and me. Let it be love motivated. No lover of this God ever gets grinded. Every true lover of God is a high flier in life. 1 Corinthians 2:9.
2. We must serve Him sacrificially.
Go beyond the normal call for duty as He enables you.
Go beyond it as He engraces you. Luke 12:49-50. Church Gist. There is no star without a scar and the scar of every star is sacrifice. You never find a star wrestler without a mark somewhere but he has the belt at last. Psalm 126:1. Sacrifice is a turnaround platform for God’s people.
3. Serve God with goodwill for others.
With goodwill doing service.
Ephesians 6:7. Don’t wish other people down, wish them up. Don’t wish a calamity befalls somebody, wish them favour. Goodwill, only those who give it have it. Ephesians 6:7-8. Church Gist. My wife once said to me “you spend more time with these Covenant University students than you spend with our children”. You are investing in the lives of other people’s children, He keeps investing in your children. He is a covenant-keeping God. Goodwill!
So it doesn’t work on your terms or my terms. Stewardship works on His terms. The good news is as we are serving, let’s do it willingly. If I do this willingly there is a reward, there is no reward for unwilling service. 1 Corinthians 9:27. Hebrews 12:28. Let’s serve Him with humility. Pride goes before destruction. Church Gist. Proverbs 16:18. Let’s serve Him joyfully, when joy withers the harvest is perished (Joel 1:12). Do it joyfully. He loves a cheerful giver. Do it joyfully. Let joy be oozing out of you at all times.
4. Do it unashamedly.
The reason why many can’t witness is that they think their status is beyond witnessing. What status? You don’t have friends that come to you for counsel, come to you for help. You can’t share Jesus with them. Romans 1:16 If you can’t serve Him openly, He can’t reward you openly. Do it unashamedly. Jesus made himself of no reputation before he can put upon himself the form of a servant. Philippians 2:7. He disregarded His status as Messiah. Left all his glory in heaven, he put it aside. What glory do you have? You need to see my team, you will be wondering what I am doing with them. Church Gist. These are young folks but I can’t run this without them. Some of them are just going to University now, some have just finished one level or another. He made Himself of no reputation to serve effectively. Wake up! Our driver is on our team. If he drives roughly we won’t get where we are going. So he is part of the team. When you are going to the market, don’t wear your suit. They will think you want to catch them. Wear what they wear. 1 Corinthians 9:22. Don’t be blowing grammar when you know they don’t understand you. Speak broken English if that is what they know. Speak Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba to them. You don’t have to be literate to go to heaven. He died for the whole world. Literate and illiterate. Unashamedly. People are ashamed of God. How will He not be ashamed of you?
5. Do it tirelessly.
1 Corinthians 15:58.
Keep sowing the seed, the harvest is on the way coming. The seed of ‘they must be saved’ in 1973 helped by grace to still be where I am standing today by His grace. You can’t take that away from me. Church Gist. I am believing God for an expansion of the platform that will see like 100,000 people brought to the Lord across the city by a revealed strategy. I have been asking God for that and He has been answering me now. Wake up! That city is yours. That territory is yours.
The big side of it all is serving God as a seed not giving a seed. Serving God as a seed. Psalm 32:30. Serving God as a seed impacts on one coming generation. Serving God as a seed impacts on our generations after us. There are some trees that are 200 years old. Serving God as a seed like Jesus did impacts on generations after us. Philippians 1:21. That is a dead man talking. 1 Corinthians 15:31. Up till now, Paul said, Paul said. After Jesus said, Paul said otherwise you are not in the gospel. Jesus paid the price, Paul unveiled the price he paid. He was a dead man. He served God as a seed not for show. Colossians 3:3. Serving God as a seed is what impacts on generations after us. Church Gist. This is epitome of what stewardship offers. John 12:24-25. Let him follow this process. This is the process behind generational impact. Serving God as a seed is the mystery behind the ultimate impact of stewardship. What happens to His kingdom matters while I live matters much more to me for eternity than what happens to me. Hebrews 13:7.
I close with this covenant which my wife signed on the 12th of September 1976. I want you to see the weight of the statements contained therein. I remember telling her but it is not in the documents. “If I am preaching and they cut my hand will you still like to be my wife?” Is that how to talk to someone? If I lose my leg in pursuit of the gospel will you still want to be my wife? Then I read the covenant. Are you in terms with this? Okay! Sign. No games. I would rather be unmarried till I go to heaven than to sell off the encounter I had. You better wake up. Trees don’t struggle to grow. Just plant the seed and you sleep and wake and the tree is growing. But we are unplanted. An unplanted seed cannot become a tree. We are unplanted. When you plant a tree, it is first messed up. It dies before life then it surges and takes off to grow. When it grows to its full stature, it keeps counting years and years. We have the story of Jonathan Edwards’s lineage for 200 years. Church Gist. They checked the legacy of this man that walked with God, giants were all through the line. Then they checked the legacy of this man who I have forgotten his name, full of criminals, drunkards, prostitutes, prisoners etc. Psalm 22:30. May the hand of God on you never stop with you. May it grow to your generations after you. On the other hand, the lineage of Jonathan Edward was made up of Judges, Senators, Vice Presidents, College Deans, glory! honour! Psalm 22:30.
I was ministering one time in Kaduna and I began to cough because the stress was much. Then my wife followed me to the restroom and I was vomiting blood. She said, “it is time to go”. I said No! Let it be the last one I will preach before I go to heaven. I came back there coughing and preaching. People got saved, I said let’s go home. How many were they? We were not up to 150. I preached the remaining breath. The thing I prepared then, I was preparing the way I prepare now. It is not about crowd, Dedication! Deadly commitment to the course of Christ. Somebody’s story is changing. Church Gist. My prayer today is that the grace that has helped me in pursuit of God without being tired will work with you. I have seen blessings, it has not distracted me one bit. I will never be a Playboy or a big boy till I go to heaven. I came here with nothing, Jesus added to me as I was privileged to keep adding value to His kingdom by reaching out to souls which touch His heart the most. It is your turn. May no one return to his church and her church as a bench warmer. The hour to glorify you has finally come.
This is what I wrote as I was moved by the Spirit of God. I had a supernatural encounter after going through the book titled ‘The Man God Uses’ by Oswald J. Smith which led me to make my vow of a lifetime dedication to God which I captioned:
“Sailing Under Sealed Orders”.
– It is saying an eternal YES to God and an eternal NO to self.
– It is relinquishing all claims. Having relinquished all claims, I deliberately turn my back on everything. Thus I renounce all that I am and have. (I didn’t have anything but I renounced all that I will have. It won’t make any meaning to me). Church Gist. It is no longer mine but God’s. Henceforth, He has the absolute right to do what He likes with it and if at any time He should call me to literally forsake what I have and renounce, I must not even murmur or complain.
Discipleship demands renunciation. He must be Lord of all or not Lord at all.
She signed it. That is where we are coming from. We are not here by games. This was signed on 12th September 1976. 46 years ago. You get planted, you don’t run dry. Church Gist. You plant by the rivers, you get fresher by the day. Proverbs 3:35. The days of shame and reproach in your life are finally over.
Whether from the prayer altar or on the street. Everybody concerned about bringing souls to Christ you are part of the process. You shall not see shame anymore. If you go outside the gate bearing His reproach, He will wipe away all your reproach. Church Gist. A woman who was 52 years old was going about witnessing and they were mocking her that it is because she doesn’t have children. This woman doesn’t speak one word of English. They insulted her. She got pregnant and had her first child ever in the same season, not the following season.
Daniel 12:3.
So don’t tell me we are reaching out to souls for the church to grow, we are reaching out to souls for the kingdom to go forward. I was not a pastor of a church when I was running crusades for souls to be saved. When I was privileged to build the first church along with others in that little village. I had no plans for ministry, I just loved Jesus. Passion for souls will give anybody their place in destiny. Church Gist. Passion for souls with clean motive, not be a big pastor recognised worldwide. I came back from Madagascar one day, after a 7-hour fight and still hit the road going to our town. I saw some boys playing football. I parked. I said “Hey young folks, do you want to go to school? The way forward to secure destiny is to know Jesus”. The following day Sunday, nine of them were in Church.
Prayers: Lord rekindle my passion for souls, rekindle my prayer life. Rekindle my passion for inviting people to church for Jesus to save them. Rekindle my passion for financial stewardship.
Matthew 6:33
No second thing to seek, the favour of God takes over. Ours is to make the choice; the power to walk in the choice comes from Him. Church Gist. If you truly made the choice to maintain a burning passion for God, lift up your two hands and call for His help.
Help me the same way you helped Apostle Paul. Send me your help Jesus.
Why are we bringing them to Church? To preserve the harvest. Any harvest left on the field, the birds of the air will clear them. We bring them to Church, God’s storehouse for preservation. Church Gist. When we welcome our new converts and first-timers, we ask how many of them want to be a member of the church. Amazing! Since we started we have recorded more than 27,000 only in July. We want when we are calling you, we are not disturbing you. You are the one who wants to be a member. Every revival is domiciled in Church.
I therefore decree every nation we are, massive church growth in 2023. Every local assembly shall be minimum double their present state. Some people on fire will make this happen in three months. We are in the last days. The days of explosive church growth. May every pastor under the sound of my voice be worthy of this explosion. May the explosion not lead to anyone’s destruction. I pray that no one will make merchandise of God’s people. We will be caring for them. Church Gist. We will be nurturing them, we will be servicing their needs in the name of Jesus. I pray for everyone that your passion in drafting people into the kingdom will be hotter than the one I carry. May it endure beyond where I am right now. You will soon be counting 50 years of passion for souls. Somebody will be counting 60 years of passion for souls. Praying kingdom advancement prayers, may it become your lifelong experience.
