Father, we give you the praise. We are looking up to you, we cannot be hopeless and afraid, we cannot be ashamed. Father, we give you the praise and the honour, blessed be your name. Breathe upon this service tonight, let not one person leave the way they have come, in Jesus’ name we have prayed.
I welcome everyone here to this night service in the precious name of Jesus, we are in the month of overflowing grace and glory for our liberty, vitality and health. The subject tonight is “CHANNELS OF DIVINE HEALTH AND HEALING”. 3rd John 1:2. It is very important for us to understand that it is the will of God for us to prosper and to be in health. ChurchGist. Our objective for this study is to understand the various channels for accessing divine healing and health. This includes liberty in cases of oppressions and several things we need to access from God.
It is important to understand this because we live in a world where afflictions and sicknesses are increasingly multiplying. ChurchGist. The World Health Organization came in around the middle 40s and at the time the organization was formed to handle infirmities in the world, incurable diseases on the earth were minimal, today the number of incurable diseases is almost numberless. ChurchGist. Beyond that, I don’t know how frequently new diseases keep coming, for example before 1980 there was nothing called HIV/AIDS, it was classified in the year 1985. Before the middle 70s, there was nothing called Ebola Virus, today we are hearing about all manner of diseases and they just keep on exploding. The Bible says as we approach the end of the age, iniquity will abound and the consequence of the same will abound. So, it is important for us to know how to access divine health and healing.
Above all, satanic activities seem to be multiplying at an alarming rate as we approach the end of the age. There are people who slept well and woke up sick because a demon gave them an injection in their dream or they ate something in their dream. Yesterday, we took the testimony of a woman who had a frog and a lizard enter her head in the dream and she woke up mad and yesterday in the healing service, the same frog and lizard walked out of her head under the climate of the presence of God and she became well. ChurchGist. So, we have those kinds of situations. Beyond that we have the fear being multiplied around the world, where someone sees someone afflicted with a disease and the fear of that disease grips them. I have seen a family where the mother died of a particular cancer at the age of 45, the elder sister died of a particular kind of cancer at the age 25 and the young girl was calling me at the same time because she was now 25 and the same symptoms were upon her and as I wondering and the Lord ministered to me that beyond the affliction itself, the spirit of fear was around and it is multiplying her chances. So, because of all of these we must know how to access health and how to retain health.
It’s very important! Don’t say I’m not sick, we must know how to access and retain it. So, we are going to look at some points today and continue probably on Sunday or the next mid-week service.
WHAT ARE THE CHANNELS OF DIVINE HEALTH AND HEALING?
- STORING THE WORD OF GOD IN THE HEART OF MEN GIVES ACCESS TO HEALTH AND HEALING.
This is feeding on the Word. Proverbs 4:20-22. Store the Word in your heart, in the middle of your busy schedule, find time for the Word, personal Word study, personal Word reading. The Apostles fed on the Word, they lived in health, the man of God; Smith Wigglesworth fed on the Word and he lived in strength up till the age of 86. E W Kenyon fed on the Word. Kenneth and Gloria Copeland, they ate the Word like you eat food, in their 80s they are still very strong and very young. ChurchGist. This is very important! Every time you remember to eat physical food, please remember to eat spiritual food. Philippians 2:16. The Word of God is the Word of life, the Word of health and the Word of strength. 1st John 1:1. The Word of God is both prophylactic and therapeutic, meaning that it is both preventive and curative. This is the difference between Daraprim and Chloroquine, women are given Daraprim during pregnancy to prevent the arrival of malaria, malaria causes crises in Sickle cell and anaemia, to ensure that the malaria does not arrive. But when the malaria arrives then they treat it with Chloroquine.
The Word of God will prevent the arrival and deal with it even if it arrives, it is preventive and it is also curative.
- HEARING AND RECEIVING THE SENT WORD.
The first point deals with you studying the Word, you feeding on the Word yourself. The second point deals with you sitting under the ministry of the Word, receiving the Word, connected to an anointed teaching and preaching of the Word, anointed instructions of the Word. Psalm 107:20. The sent Word carries healing power, it carries deliverance power, it carries therapeutic power. Luke 5:15,17. They came to hear the Word of God first and then they were healed. ChurchGist. In the teaching is the healing, the healing flows in the teaching.
There are people who have come to this Church and they have received healing, miracles and deliverances without anybody praying for them, because inside the teaching is the healing. Luke 6:17. Someone here is getting healed. ChurchGist. This is talking about making yourself available for the ministry of the Word, both the kind you’re hearing now and then on tapes, DVDs and MP3. That you lock yourself in a room for days, you’re trusting God in the area of the fruit of the womb, you get messages in that area, the devil is challenging your health, you connect yourself with divine healing messages, messages that set your soul on fire.
20 years ago, a woman couldn’t sleep in the night because demons were moving in the house, all manners of noise inside the house and then I gave her series of messages, I instructed her to play them loud and then she should go to sleep, let me see the devil that will remain in the room to listen to those messages. ChurchGist. It didn’t last 48 hours before the devil found their road to hell, because what they were hearing was corrosive, the atmosphere changed. You see everything continues in its state of rest until it is compelled by an external force to act otherwise, the meaning is that everything will continue until a higher force arrives, situations will remain the same until higher force arrives.
I announce to someone today, a higher force is arriving today and knocking down every affliction in your body and of your life.
- STANDING STRONG IN THE FAITH AFFECTS THE HEALTH OF YOUR LIFE.
Matthew 9:22; 15:28. Faith makes whole. Mark 5:34. Mark 10:52. Luke 17:19. How does faith work? Faith taps into the healing virtue of the Master to achieve wholeness. ChurchGist. When you release your faith, virtue is released from the master for the wholeness of your life. What is faith all about? Faith says this is what the Word of God has said and I stand on the Word of God. Smith Wigglesworth had a challenging faith, where one day he said; it is better for me to die believing God than to live doubting Him. He had a confrontation about his health and he stood his ground until his healing manifested. God cannot lie! God said I’m healed; this lab result is not my result.
A woman here went to the laboratory many years ago, she was pregnant and she went for her antenatal checkup. I think that child should be about 20 years old now, he’s in university now. They said to her in her checkup that she was HIV positive and she looked angrily at the laboratory scientist, she said this cannot be my result, can you give me my result, the laboratory scientist was very confused and very angry at the same time. ChurchGist. Do you mean I don’t know my work? She said, excuse me sir, this cannot be my result. Can you give me my result? The man was confused and went and searched and checked and truly realized that there was a mix up in the surname or something, one letter difference from another person’s result. She would have collected that result and when it is accepted, it is established, when it is rejected, it is ejected.
Somebody was very thirsty and went into the refrigerator inside a laboratory and carried water, he drank it, you know when a man is thirsty, he drinks without looking back. It was after he had drank it half way down that he realized that it was not tasting water, it was a concentrated acid. That would be an instant death, and they told him you just drank an acid. He said never, I can’t drink acid, I just drank water, because he must have realized that even though they drink deadly things it shall not hurt them. That statement alone was enough to de-acidify the acid. ChurchGist. The just shall live by his faith, in other words, the just can die without their faith. No! I refuse to die the way other people died in my family, I have a new family now. I belong to the family of God. I’m connected to Jesus my saviour, the saviour that is never sick.
I have come across infectious diseases, I have come across all manner of things that had the capacity to make you catch anything on the spot. I went somewhere that everybody’s eyes were red, they had caught allergic conjunctivitis or whatever and before I knew it, my eyes were trying to scratch me, I looked at those eyes in the mirror and I said; are you okay? ChurchGist. Adjust yourself. All manners of infectious diseases, including the one that is just finishing or that is still ravaging in some places. Your faith has made thee whole!
John Graham Lake was burying people who died of bubonic plague, he was burying them with bare hands, people were wearing gloves, they were wearing body armour, they had everything, but this man was burying them with his bare hands. ChurchGist. John, this thing is highly contagious, he said; this thing can’t live in my body. You know what he did? He took the foam from the mouth of the dead in his hand and asked them to put it under the microscope and confirm the living condition of the bacteria, every single bacterium that encountered his hand was dead under the microscope, every single one was dead, none was alive under the microscope. He quoted Romans 8:1-2, sin and death is a law, the spirit of Christ is a law and the law of life is superior to the law of death.
It is not unto you according to the inherited diseases of your family; it is unto you according to your faith. It is not unto you according to the epidemic in the environment, it is unto you according to your faith, it is not unto you according to a report that anybody gave, it is unto you according to your faith. ChurchGist. I was speaking to a medical professor some time ago, he came to my office, he asked me to pray for him, he had a sickness and affliction in his line of specialty. It’s just as if an Ophthalmologist had Glaucoma and he’s about to run blind. So, he has that affliction in the area of his specialty. A professor, a post graduate examiner, he examines other big doctors to become big doctors/ consultants. So, I asked him, have you checked yourself? He said I don’t want them to tell me anything I don’t want to hear, I told him you’re in order, so we can talk now. I asked him, is that how you operate? He said that’s how I have been operating since, I don’t check any symptoms or anything. We prayed and the sickness died. Let it be unto you according to your faith.
- THE PRAYER OF FAITH FROM LEADERS IN THE CHURCH.
It is a scriptural access way. James 5:14-15. The prayer of the leaders in the Church over a loved one is a key to healing, but for this to produce results, people must believe in and be subject to spiritual authority. That is the basis why the home-cell leaders and the team of other home-cell people will pray for a member that is sick and they get healed. ChurchGist. It’s a delegated authority, the head of department, a deacon and an elder praying the prayer of faith for the sick. But you must believe in spiritual authority. There are those who don’t have any value for spiritual authority, there is no counsel you give them that they will listen to, this cannot work for them.
I was the president of medical student fellowship, it was called the Nigeria Conference of Medical Student, the University chapter and the national chapter after that, and in that capacity, I functioned like an elder, like a pastor over the brethren and I saw a lot of experience in this regard, one of my classmates, 500 level medical student then was having a peptic ulcer disease, he was at the highest point of it. It was as if he needed surgery to be done and he was in pain. One day I went to his room and I saw him lying on his bed, folded in pain. ChurchGist. What’s going on and he told me, I remembered reading this scripture James 5:14, I laid hands on him and I cursed the spirit of ulcer in Jesus name, he jumped up on the spot, the way you turn on light and you don’t wait for the light bulb to come on, the moment you pressed the switch that was how he jumped on his feet, healed of peptic ulcer for as long as I can remember, this is almost 30 years ago and I have not heard the same story of ulcer from that guy again. Now, it works over and over again, we have seen it in different dimensions and corners and it works.
I was a student in 500 level when one of my classmate brought her sister from the village, I’m telling you this story so that if you’re a student, it’s not too early to do exploits, this girl was a product of a woman looking for the fruit of the womb and went everywhere, native doctors inclusive and one of the places they went to, the water priestess told her that she was going to have two children and gave her the names she was to call the children when they were born but when the children came of age, they would return them, that is they would die. The woman said, it is better that I would have children, let it be said that I had children at least. So, the two of them were born, one boy and one girl. ChurchGist. The boy grew up and when he was of age he died, the second one was growing up, before she could become of that age, she gave her life to Jesus. When they found it difficult to take her, it became one affliction and one oppression after the other, she passed through terrible torment. She would sit with her eyes open; she would see people walking into her room without legs, all manners of terrible afflictions, some with horse legs.
She was in a psychiatric hospital because they couldn’t diagnose what was wrong with her, abdominal condition that couldn’t be diagnosed, they operated her until there was no place to detect the fault, the abdomen was just so gone. ChurchGist. One day she told her sister to go help her buy coke, an unclean spirit answered, we can give you coke if you want, she told them I don’t need your coke. Her sister bought the coke, she opened the coke and then an unseen hand carried the coke, turned the coke without a cover and yet not a drop of coke came down. African scientists! She was facing all manner of things, they brought her to Abuja to me, Rachel was her name, hands were laid on her, under 30 minutes all those demons cleared out, all of them, not one was left, she returned back. The next time I saw her, I was home, I was already a medical doctor, I went to a clinic and I saw her working, I asked her, are you not the one? Yes, I’m the one. How are you? Fine. How about those things? They went since. What’s happening now? I’m married, what else? Here is my son. Obadiah 1:17. I announce to somebody here today, every satanic yoke and affliction on your life and your health, today it’s broken.
- ANOINTING WITH OIL/ THE MYSTERY OF THE ANOINTING OIL
James 5:14-15. It’s not an Old Testament mystery. Mark 6:7,12-13. The anointing oil communicates the virtues of the Spirit. 1st Samuel 16:13. The virtues of the spirit, including the healing virtue are communicated via the anointing oil. ChurchGist. One of the testimonies here tonight corroborates this. I think the child was mad and the oil was applied and the boy slept, woke up suddenly and said what’s wrong with me, where am I? Same with his wife, she was already unconscious, he dropped the oil on her mouth and there she was out, the anointing oil.
I heard Smith Wigglesworth had a special pocket in his suit for the bottle of the anointing oil, it just remained there for himself and for any other. ChurchGist. The mystery of the anointing oil is one of the mysteries that God has given for the transfer of healing virtue. This is not an Old Testament issue, it is in the New Testament, we just read James, it is right there, it is valid, till today, till tomorrow.
An anointing with the oil and when necessary, a shot, if what’s affecting you is not outside your body it’s possible to take a short and then sweep the system and flush it out.
- THE PASSOVER MYSTERY/THE COMMUNION TABLE.
In the Old Testament, when the Children of Israel were going to come out of Egypt, they took the Passover. Exodus 12:11. After this people ate this Passover, we began to understand some mysteries about them. Deuteronomy 8:4. ChurchGist. Their feet did not swell, their cloth did not grow old, apart from the fact that they were enveloped in the cloud of Glory, they ate something before they left Egypt, that sustained them for 30 years in the wilderness. Nehemiah 9:21. So, they lacked nothing, their cloth waxed not cold, no swollen feet for 40 years.
Psalm 105:37. As they were coming out of Egypt, no one was weak or sick among them. They ate something! 1st Corinthians 5:7. What they ate was the shadow of the communion, the type of the communion, the kind that Elijah ate and the Angel told him to eat and drink for the journey is far. 1st Kings 19:7-8. He went on the strength of that food for 40 days and 40 nights. Energy, strength, vitality without eating any other thing came upon him, but the Bible says that Christ is our Passover, the communion is the type of that food. Matthew 26:19,26-28. ChurchGist. The Passover that gave them such strength and health in the wilderness, the equivalent of it is what we are going to eat tonight, called the communion.
John 6:56-57. This was the secret of the early Church; they ate it as frequently as possible. 1st Corinthians 11:23-26. It is to be taken as often as possible.
I have prayed for some sick people before and I told them to take communion daily. I have prayed for other sick people before and I told them to take it three times a day, morning, Afternoon and evening. Just keep taking it for as long as there is news for your health to be restored. Smith Wigglesworth took the communion daily. ChurchGist. In our house we made a rule to have communion everywhere. Communion in the bathroom, so anywhere you catch it, eat it. Hallelujah!
Now, it should be eaten revelationally, not religiously. This is the aspect of what you’re hearing now, the revelation and the understanding that this is not something to play with. ChurchGist. Our Children when they were little when it was Communion time, they would rush for the communion, just to eat it not for anything, we understood it for them, it’s okay, just give them. Hallelujah!
You take it with revelation, I’m taking the life of Christ, everything that Christ died to purchase for me, I’m taking it now. ChurchGist. You take it to break ancestral curses, you take it to dissolve generational curses, you take it to reject every spell from hell and any blood sacrifice working against your life can be unworked by that power of the Communion.
In the name that is above every name, I prophesy to everyone here, I decree today blessing upon that communion, I decree everyone sick in their bodies tonight, by the release of this mystery, that sickness is cleared out, in Jesus’ precious name.
- THE GIFTS OF HEALING.
One of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit is called the gift of healing. 1st Corinthians 12:9, 28-30. This gift of healing is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit that God has given for the helping of the Church and also the benefit to the world, by the mercies of God you know that this gift is right where you are. When this gift is in operation, a healing climate is created that makes healing take place effortlessly. ChurchGist. Luke 6:19. Acts 5:14-16. Like Oral Robert said; Healing is in the air, it’s like you’re breathing it, you can touch it.
I travelled to Makurdi some time ago, about 17 years ago, the driver that went with me was sick and I didn’t know, I was lying on the couch and he was lying in front of me on the rug, he was just relaxing, we were in the afternoons and he turned his hands and mistakenly held my hands, electricity entered his body and whatever that was in him ran out. ChurchGist. Later on, he told me, he said, this was what was wrong with me and you didn’t know.
A man and his wife were telling me the other day, their daughter came to see me and their daughter was going to school and so I greeted all of them. She said that her encounter with me made the lower back condition of her father go away. ChurchGist. She got to the airport before she realized that it had disappeared. He was carrying the luggage of the daughter and the daughter asked him, are you carrying the luggage? He said yes, it was at that point they realized the back condition had gone.
I was at Ibadan airport, going to Ibadan for a program. A young lady ran to me and said; pastor can you bless me, I said you’re blessed, she said amen. She went and returned back and said something just happened. ChurchGist. She said I had a pelvic fracture, it just got adjusted.
I was at the Lagos airport and I saw a man with a neck collar and I said can I assist you in removing that thing, I’m anointed to remove it, it was removed and the man was able to turn his neck, he walked away like a gentleman. We were on the road in Garki area driving and I saw a man on crotches, I instructed the driver to park, I told the man can I assist you, he said really, he was separated from the crotches and walked away like a gentleman. ChurchGist. It’s not of Him that willeth nor runnet, it’s of God that showeth mercy. No man taketh this honour upon himself, except he that is called.
Whenever you’re in such a climate, take advantage of it. Stretch your faith and connect it, touch it. People are distant around the world, get this even from the airways, you’re here in person, you cannot be left behind. He gave this gift to the Church. ChurchGist. So, that the members of the Body of Christ would be healed by any avenue, we have not yet exhausted the list, we are just about half way, so that whatever happens the devil can never hold you too ransom.
God has ordained that we don’t just live long, we live good. The Bible will say; he died in good old age, that means there is bad old age, you know bad old age. ChurchGist. Somebody is messing up on themselves while they are still alive, somebody has become a burden while they’re still alive. A bad old age! You will fulfil your days.
COUNSELS.
- Let the Word of God remain central to all the channels of healing. Whether you’re trusting God to be healed. Psalm 119:89. Let the Word of God remain foundational, let it remain central. ChurchGist. The reason is, whatever that does not have the foundation of the Word does not have a future. You get healed by the gift of healing for example, you need your faith to keep that healing going and to keep the devil out. You can take the horse to the river but you can’t make it drink water if it’s not convinced.
- Faith must absolutely be placed in God and not in a man or in a channel of healing. For example, the man that was the instrument for the healing or the bottle of oil, the faith is not in the bottle of oil, the faith is in God who gave us instructions about the oil. Faith is not in the communion; the faith is the one whose body the communion represents. ChurchGist. We will be talking about other channels later, the faith is not in the channels, in the human vessels. Hebrew 21:6. Faith is in God and not in the things. When you place your faith in the bottle of oil, that bottle of oil has become to you like a charm. When you place your faith in a handkerchief, that handkerchief has become to you like a native doctor’s charm or whatever it is. The faith must be in the God who gave the instructions for our faith to be placed in it.
It is a new day for somebody. Whatever affliction that came here with you can never leave here with you; I see healing happening right now.
I omitted telling you that it is the gifts of healing. It’s the only plural gifts. We have gift of this, gift of that, gift of prophecy but gifts of healing. ChurchGist. That connotes healing is multifaceted in operation, we have seen crusades where the many healing that happened was blind eyes being opened, another one crutch, another one deaf ear also, we are fully aware, especially in the days of the healing revival, the people operated more diversely, there were some who were more rugged in wheel chair, some were more rugged in blind eyes, some were more rugged even in deliverances. It’s a plurality of gifting but the mercy of God has given us the grace to see diverse in the place where we are and I believe that it’s a new day for us.
Give God praise and adore Him.
