1 Kings 17:2-6
There are several lessons to be learnt in Elijah’s sojourn at Cherith.
- God is unlimited: Our God is unlimited, we chose to study Elijah because we are talking about who was nothing and ended up becoming very great. If you are to fly higher, you must never limit the Almighty God.
Psalms 48:1
God is unlimited in resources and methodology, He is unlimited in power, by age, by life span. Don’t limit the Holy One of Israel.
God is unlimited in resources:
Psalms 24:1
- On earth, we have water, Genesis 2:4-6
- On earth, we have crude oil, iron for building, e.t.c.
God is unlimited financially:
Haggai 2:8
Every rich fellow got the money from God.
- The entire animal world is under the control of God
Psalms 50:9-11
Numbers 11:31-32, when the children of Israel wanted meat, the Almighty God told the wind to blow and bring quails from every part of the earth to the children of Israel. The Bible says they were so many the children of Israel didn’t have to pursue them.
I still remember when we first came to the Camp, some little birds came by thousands, they will come and settle on a tree and they were making so much noise and littering everywhere. The more we tried to kill them, the more they multiplied. I cried to the Almighty God and eagles came and finished them all up with two days.
If you need help from God and He has to send help through a bird to you, may He send it to you today.
- He controls the fishes.
Matthew 17:24-27,
It must be God who will tell a fish to swallow a coin and to be the first to be caught with a hook.
Luke 5:1-7,
The Almighty God can tell fishes to jump into your net.
I decree that those of you who are interested in soul winning, from now on, mighty fishes from the Almighty God will jump into your net. - He controls lions.
Daniel 6:1-28. - He controls donkeys
Numbers 22:21-35
He made an ass to speak to a prophet who was going to curse the children of Israel.
I will never forget when I was young, my sister got married and they had a farm, I wanted to give her a surprise visit, she described the place to me and I found myself hopelessly lost in the jungle, I didn’t know how to pray, I was young and all of a sudden I saw a little white dog and this dog led me to my sisters farm. When they saw me they were surprised, they asked how I got there and I said this little white dog led me here and they looked but there was no dog.
The Almighty God can turn an angel to a dog when there is need to do so, I am praying for someone today, whatever miracle God has to perform for you in particular, may it be done in Jesus name.
- God controls every human being. He can make them available to help you on your way to greater heights.
- He can use the poor,
1 Kings 17:8-16. - He can use the rich,
2 Kings 4:8-17. - He used an unknown house help to tell Namaan about the Prophet.
2 Kings 5:1-14
God used two unknown people to bring healing to Namaan.
God can use your help to help you. - He can use the high and mighty
Genesis 41:1-44
I decree that, that fellow who is high and mighty that can help you to go higher, tonight he will have a dream that will frighten him so much that he will send for you.
- He controls prophets
1 Samuel 10:1-11
1 Samuel 16:1-16
God who is unchangeable is still on His throne. I am His representative to you and I can decree in the Mighty name of Jesus Christ that from now on, you will be going higher. - He controls angels
1 Kings 19:4-8 when Elijah was at his lowest, an angel brought him food thrice so that he can continue his journey.
In Acts 5:14-25, An angel brought them out of prison. - He controls demons, He can use demons to take you higher.
1 Samuel 16:14-23
I don’t know how far God will take you, but this unlimited God will use all the resources at His disposal to take you to that height in Jesus name.
- He is unlimited in Methodology: what kind of method is asking your servant to go and hide when He can protect him from the King?
God moves in mysterious ways, He may not use the same method twice.
Genesis 2:7
Genesis 2:18-23
He performed a surgical operation on Adam to bring out Eve. He could bring something new out of the old. His method of doing the same thing may vary.
There was a time He linked his power to the hair of a man, Samson.
Judges 16:6:21.
2 Kings 1:1-8, Elijah was also a hairy man association with power.
2 Kings 2:19-24, the most powerful of the Prophets; Elijah was bald headed. God does not have to use the same method twice.
God can perform the same miracles in different ways. He opened the eyes of three different blind men and He didn’t use the same method
- John 9:1-7, He used mud.
- Mark 8:22-25, He spat on him.
- Mark 10:46-52, He just spoke.
Same miracle, three different methods.
I don’t care what method He is going to use but in the name that is above every other name, God will give you your miracle today.
God is unlimited but you are limited.
John 15:5
You are seriously limited, so why don’t you link up with the One who is unlimited so that His ‘unlimitedness’ can over shadow your limits.
Philippians 4:13.
If you are listening to me and you are a Christian but you have forgotten the act of prayer, you believe you can do things on your own, wherever you are, change your mind. He is unlimited and you are not.
If you have not given your life, why don’t you link up to the Almighty God? Wherever you are cry unto Him to have mercy on you and save your soul. Say ‘I know that you are unlimited and I am limited, save my soul Lord.’
