1st July, 1824: Charles Grandison Finney is ordained a Presbyterian minister. He is often called the “Father of Modern Revivalism” because of his role in the Second Great Awakening and his influence on Christianity and American society in the 19th century

1st July, 2010: Sammie and Ozioma Okposo get married. Sammie Okposo was a Nigerian Gospel Singer who passed on to glory on 25th November, 2022.

1st July, 1899: Gideons International is organized by three travelling salesmen in Janesville, Wisconsin. Gideons International is an organization of Protestant business and professional lay men that places copies of the Bible or New Testament in hotel rooms, hospitals, penal institutions, schools and other locations. The association began placing Bibles in November 1908.

1st July, 2022: Over 700 Catholic priests protest in Kaduna as they buried Father Vitus Borogo, a Priest who was killed on 25th June 2022 by unknown armed men at Prison Farm, Kujama, along Kaduna-Kachia Road, Chikun Local Government Area in Kaduna State.

1st July, 1900: Missionary Horace Tracy Pitkin, a missionary in China is beheaded during the Boxer Uprising – an anti-Christian uprising in North China between 1899 and 1901.
